  • The 21th century is carried out a rearing activity of green industries as a part of friendly echo policy for preservation of earth environment. Korean government is spreaded on a whole country to setting up a goal to a sustainable growth power of national for low carbon green growth. The recently rolling stock is received the footlights as a best friendly echo transportation of transport system of automobile, airplane, ship etc., also that is playing a big role to reduction of $CO_2$ greenhouse gas and a discharge of air pollution. This study was carried out the investigation and analysis for technology trend of the system light-weighting of a recently urban railway vehicle on commercial operating in domestic and foreign countries. As the results are proposed a short-term development technology and a long-term development technology of the system light-weighting to be developed for reduction weight of urban railway vehicle.

Effect of Niobium on Corrosion Fatigue Properties of High Strength Steel

  • In this study, the effect of Nb alloying element on the corrosion fatigue properties of high strength steel is investigated by conducting fatigue experiments under corrosive condition and hydrogen induced condition, potentiodynamic polarization test, tensile test and surface analyses. Nb element is added to enhance the mechanical property of medium carbon steel. This element forms MX-type phases such as carbides and nitrides which are playing an important role in the grain refinement. The grain refinement is one of the effective way to improve mechanical property because both tensile strength and toughness can be improved at the same time. However, MX-type phase precipitates can be a susceptible site to localized corrosion in corrosive environment due to the potential difference between matrix and precipitate. The obtained results showed that Nb-added steel improved corrosion fatigue property by grain refinement. However, it is degraded for hydrogen-induced fatigue property due to Nb, Ti-inclusions acting as a stronger trap.

Computational Thinking based Mathematical Program for Free Semester System

  • In recent years, coding education has been globally emphasized and the Free Semester System will be executed to the public schools in Korea from 2016. With the introduction of the Free Semester System and the rising demand of Computational Thinking (CT) capacity, this research aims to design 'learning environment' in which learners can design and construct mathematical objects through computers and print them out through 3D printers. Furthermore, it will design learning mathematics by constructing the figurate number patterns from 'soma cubes' in the playing context and connecting those to algebraic and combinatorial patterns, which will allow students to experience mathematical connectivity. It is expected that the activities of designing figurate number patterns suggested in this research will not only strengthen CT capacity in relation to mathematical thinking but also serve as a meaningful program for the Free Semester System in terms of career experience as 3D printers can be widely used.

Object-based Multimedia Contents Storage for Mobile Devices

  • Mobile devices, such as PDAs, portable multimedia players, are more likely to encompass large storage devices with prevalance of high-quality multimedia contents. This paper proposes an object-based multimedia contents storage architecture that employs the object-based storage device model and the iSCSI protocol. It also provides a multimedia content player that operates directly with the proposed storage architecture. We implement both the proposed storage architecture and the multimedia content player upon the Linux environment. Performance evaluation by playing MP3 multimedia contents reveals that the proposed storage architecture reduces the total power consumption by 9%, compared with an existing networked storage. This enhancement is mainly contributed to the fact that a large portion of the file system is moved into the object-based multimedia contents storage from the mobile device.

  • Recently, the virtual world where avatars are playing crucial roles in connecting users with each other receives much attention from practioners as well as academicians. Especially, Second Life is one of the most prevailing website where 3-D avatars can be easily designed in line with for users' personal tastes. However, there are no studies showing how the selling agents designed in 3-D avatars can affect customer trust and purchase intention in the context of virtual world. This study is concerned with suggesting the empirical results to fill in the research void like this. Results reveal that the proposed hypotheses are proven with statistical significance.

Game Transformation from Non-Augmented Reality to Augmented Reality

  • The evolution of technology has lead gaming playable in augmented reality and more games are developed only for augmented reality. There are mainly no supportive reasons for game designed in non-augmented reality and transforms to augmented reality. Genre of game played in augmented reality is always one of the defined game genres. In this paper, transformation process and effects of mobile games to augmented reality is discussed. Augmented reality game is recommended for mobile devices due to its portability. Modification for mobile games transformation including way of game rendering, game controlling, camera view controlling and game environment design are discussed. User experience is affected after the game transformed to augmented reality because of the differences in game controlling. The presence of game in real world is increased due to the usage of actual view in game playing.

  • 'Digital' the most important keyword in the 21th century environment affects on our life whole and method, studying, working, playing and communicating. Also, digital make the range of products ambiguous through fusing and compounding products. It is becoming new subject how digital may ambiguous with human's life by this solution. So, basis proposition of study analyzes intelligence style furniture taking a view of making of furniture as long as it is by digital technology do essential intensive training of furniture and there is the purpose to suggest conception pattern of 'Digital Convergence Furniture' the future.   • We present an early result of a research for formalization of the characteristics and effectiveness of manufacturing performance measurement systems (PMS). Recently manufacturing PMS has been a focus of broad research efforts due to its practical role playing in managers' decision making process. There have been so many suggestive researches that explain the troubles with old cost accounting-based PMS and describe the desirable properties of PMS in strategic management of manufacturing operations. The lack of empirical investigation in this area, however, has left us unsure about what are the real characteristics that distinguish one PMS from another. In this paper, we propose a conceptual framework that can be used to describe the environment, in which a specific PMS works, the characteristic and the utilization variables of a PMS. Then we report the result of a field survey, where we found three distinctive characteristics of a PMS, contents, vertical integration, and horizontal integration. Further, we discuss the relationships of the variables with the utilization of PMS, manufacturing strategy, manufacturing improvement programs, and business performance.

A Study on Technology Embedded English Classes Using QR Codes

  • The development of information and technology has brought plenty of changes to the educational environment. The prevalence of smart phones is particularly playing a huge role in shaping learning methods. Smart phones provide the opportunity to scan QR codes, which can greatly ease access to information. Due to a high recognition speed, recognition rate, and restoration rate, they can be useful tools for English teachers to use in their class. In this study, we suggest using QR codes for writing and picture descriptions. Based on this study, more research should invest in Technology Embedded English teaching models to create better English classes for students.

A Study of the Factors that Impact Chinese Consumers' Purchasing Intent for High-Tech Products

  • Purpose - This objective of this study is to analyze the factors that impact Chinese consumers' purchasing intent for high-tech products. The study examines smart phones'features, Chinese personal consumer characteristics, and social influence. Research design, data, and methodology - The study employed survey data based on 200 questionnaires in principal Chinese cites between October and December 2011. SPSS 17.0 was employed to analyze the data used to test the hypotheses the analysis results confirmed some hypotheses proposed. Results - Hypothesis 1, Hypothesis 4, and Hypothesis 7 proposing that utilization, social image, and attractiveness, respectively, of smart phone elements influence the Chinese consumers' purchasing intent are supported. Conclusions - This study found the factors that impact purchasing intent for high-tech products among Chinese consumers, with some factors like social image, attractiveness, and utilization playing critical roles; however, hypotheses proposing factors such as ease of use, pleasantness, personal innovativeness, and compatibility were rejected. In future, more research focusing on the elements of smart phones is required.
