  • The Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL) is a declarative markup language based on the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) to define a set of markup tags for synchronizing the timing and positioning relationships between multimedia objects. SMIL makes authoring of TV-like multimedia presentations on the Web easier for applications such as electronic commerce. We present the design and implementation of a JAVA-based SMIL player, which processes different types of media objects using multiple threads. Moreover, its cache engine detects the media type and allocates the proper cache memory for the corresponding media object.

  • Hockey games attracts many fans around the world. This game requires a specific type of ball and a stick for controlling the motion and trace of the ball. This control of motion involves hitting the ball which is a direct intensive dynamic loading. The impact load transferred directly to the hand of the player and in the professional player may cause long term medical problems. Therefore, dynamic motion of the stick should be understood. In the current study, we analyze the dynamic motion of a hockey stick under impact loading from a hockey ball. In doing so, the stick geometry is simplified as a beam structure and quasi-2D relations of displacement is applied along with classical linear elasticity theory for isotropic materials. The governing equations and natural boundary condition are extracted using Hamilton's principle. The final equations in terms of displacement components are solved using Galerkin's numerical method. The results are presented using indentation and contact force values for variations of different parameters.

  • Identity theft happens frequently in popular MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Games) where profits can be gained easily. In spite of the importance of security about identity theft in MMORPG, few methods to prevent and detect identity theft in online games have been proposed. In this study, we investigate real identity theft cases of an online game and define the representative patterns of identity theft as the speedy type, cautious type, and bold type. We then propose the automatic identity theft detection model based on the multi-class classification. We verify the system with one of the leading online games in Korea. The multi-class detection model outperforms the existing binary-class one(hacked or not).

  • Cell type packaging line is more suitable for the products with various models and small quantities like mobile phone or mp3 player than conveyor type packaging line. Cell type packaging line is applicable to package various product models, but it can cause wrong product compositions and missing of items. So, automatic missing item detection system is needed. We designed an missing item detection system with a bar code reader, infrared sensors, and s digital camera. and also developed the programs for sensor data acquisition, image data processing, GUI, and data management.

  • This study is aimed at comparing and analyzing the response of playfulness level by personality type of players, according to the observations and results of behavior shown in SNG (Social Network Game) players during their play, in particular based on social behavior of SNG players. For this, the behavior of SNG players is classified into SC (Social Connectedness) and NC (Non-Social Connectedness) by space where they play games and the relations between behavior of each SNG player and their playfulness are confirmed by empirical experiment based on big-five personality traits possible standards of disposition expected from players. The results are presented that the playfulness for behavior of SNG players has distinct features by personality types and there is a significant difference between personality types for SC behavior. It could be useful for determining the proportion of playing behavior for Social Connect, generally known as one of main sources SNG provides when designing SNG play and considering personality types of players.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze a change of maximal grip forces and EMG of agonists in upper extremity of 8 professional Ssirum players according to Satbar-grip patterns, to elucidate prime agonist muscles, contribution rate of each muscle, and a difference on EMG in upper extremity. one-way ANOVA(RM) performed for average and maximal values of each player after standardization and statistical significance was set as p<.05. The result includes the following: the highest grip force was A type with a statistic significance using one-way ANOVA and Duncan's comparison between A and C type. In summary the highest grip force was exerted on extension in the wrist than flexion in all grip types. Average and maximal values of biceps brachii and brachioradialis muscles were statistically significant and ones of flexor carpi ulnaris and extensor capi ulnaris were not.

  • In the power industry after restructuring of Power industry will be appeared on-site type business, power retail sales business, and power wholesales business, power dealing business, customer inclination business & delivery of power facilities. Among them, power trade business, customer inclination business and on-site type business will be rapidly increased and occupied attention. In addition, it is forecasted to advent the broker, provider, market place, power marketer, system operator and generator as a main player. Meanwhile, it needs protection of existing power industry and activation of new energy market for accomplishment of restructuring of power industry.

  • Recently, RoboCup soccer simulation has been regarded as a good benchmark problem for multiagent researches. Soccer agents have to make decision based on visual and auditory information, which are sent from the soccer server. In order to develop a strong team, we have to design decision-making process of each player agent. However, it is very difficult for us to design the decision-making processes in detail, because we don't know what actions of each player are effective for the team. In this paper, we attempt to apply co-evolutionary method, which is one type of analogies of evolution, to improve the team play. Agents have hand coded basic skills, which include dribble, shoot, pass etc. Agents already can play autonomously and independently. Individual agent skills are characterized by some parameters. By coevolving teams with these parameters, we obtained relatively interesting teams, in which players behave cooperatively in order to win the soccer game. From some experiments, we discuss what teams are evolved.

  • In mobile phones of multimedia era, microspeakers of high qualify sound are essential parts to generate human voice in speaker phone and MP3 song player. In this paper, two types of microspeakers, outer permanent magnet (PM) and combined PM type, are analyzed using electromagnetic, mechanical and their coupling analysis. For performance comparison, voice coil diameter is chosen as a design parameter to change excitation position and magnet volume for both types. For combined PM type, sound pressure level (SPL) is improved due to increased PM volume compared to outer PM type. Also, with the decreased voice coil diameter for combined PM type, the 1st resonant mode of the diaphragm is more efficiently excited due to concentrative excitation, resulting in lower and broader frequency range. Therefore, it can be said that the combined PM type microspeakers are more advantageous for high performance microspeaker which are essential for multimedia era.
