루테늄 산화물 나노 섬유 지지체에 담지된 고 분산성 촉매의 전기화학적 거동 (Electrochemical Behavior of Well-dispersed Catalysts on Ruthenium Oxide Nanofiber Supports)

  • Well-dispersed platinum catalysts on ruthenium oxide nanofiber supports are fabricated using electrospinning, post-calcination, and reduction methods. To obtain the well-dispersed platinum catalysts, the surface of the nanofiber supports is modified using post-calcination. The structures, morphologies, crystal structures, chemical bonding energies, and electrochemical performance of the catalysts are investigated. The optimized catalysts show well-dispersed platinum nanoparticles (1-2 nm) on the nanofiber supports as well as a uniform network structure. In particular, the well-dispersed platinum catalysts on the ruthenium oxide nanofiber supports display excellent catalytic activity for oxygen reduction reactions with a half-wave potential ($E_{1/2}$) of 0.57 V and outstanding long-term stability after 2000 cycles, resulting in a lower $E_{1/2}$ potential degradation of 19 mV. The enhanced electrochemical performance for oxygen reduction reactions results from the well-dispersed platinum catalysts and unique nanofiber supports.

Separation of Goid, Palladium and Platinum in Chromite by Anion Exchange Chromatography for Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometric Analysis

  • A study has been carried out on the separation of gold, iridium, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium and platinum in chromite samples and their quantitative determination using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The dissolution condition of the minerals by fusion with sodium peroxide was optimized and chromatographic elution behaviour of the rare metals was investigated by anion exchange chromatography. Spectral interference of chromium, a matrix of the minerals, was investigated on determination of gold. Chromium interfered on determination of gold at the concentration of 500 mg/L and higher. Gold plus trace amounts of iridium, palladium, rhodium and ruthenium, which must be preconcentrated before ICP-AES was separated by anion exchange chromatography after reducing Cr(Ⅵ) to Cr(III) by H2O2. AuCl4- retained on the resin column was selectively eluted with acetone- HNO3-H2O as an eluent. In addition, iridium, palladium, rhodium and ruthenium remaining on the resin column were eluted as a group with concentrated HCl. However, platinum was eluted with concentrated HNO3. The recovery yield of gold with acetone-HNO3-H2O was 100.7 ${\pm}2.0%$, and the yields of palladium and platinum with concentrated HCl and HNO3 were 96.1 ${\pm}1.8%$ and 96.6 ${\pm}1.3%$, respectively. The contents of gold and platinum in a Mongolian chromite sample were 32.6 ${\pm}$ 2.2 ${\mu}g$/g and 1.6 $\pm$ 0.14 ${\mu}g$/g, respectively. Palladium was not detected.

흡착 벗김법에 의한 루테늄 정량 (Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetric Determination of Ruthenium)

  • 미량의 루테늄(III)을 간편하게 정량할 수 있는 벗김 전압-전류법을 제시한다. 흡착 누적에 의한 사전 농축과 루테늄의 전극 촉매작용을 효과적으로 이용하여 큰 촉매 전류를 얻기 위한 최적 조건은, 아세트산 완충 용액의 농도 0.01M, pH 2.0, 히드라진 농도 0.01M, 그리고 누적 전위 -0.76V 등이다. 적정 누적 시간은 농도에 따라 다르나 2~10분이면 무난하다. 이 조건에서 검출 한계는 $7{\times}10^{-9}M$(2분) 또는 $2{\times}10^{-9}M$(7분)이었다.

  • 지각 내 존재비율이 0.4 ppb 이하인 희소백금족 로듐, 루테늄, 이리듐, 오스뮴 원소에 대해 특성을 조사하고 일본을 중심으로 한 기술선진국의 특허 등록된 회수 및 분리기술을 정리함으로써 국내 발생 폐자원으로부터 희소백금족 회수기술과 원료소재화 활용기술 개발 필요성을 제시하고자 한다.

  • The suggested electrode structure of MOCVD-Pt/sputtered-Ru/polysilicon has an excellent adhesion with increasing annealing temperatures and shows a stable electrode structure up to $600^{\circ}C$. However, the ruthenium used for barrier layer increased the roughness of platinum bottom electrodes because ruthenium diffused through the Pt bottom electrode and reacted with oxygen during the annealing above $700^{\circ}C$. The surface roughness increased the resistivity of Pt bottom electrodes. The resistivity of samples annealed at $600^{\circ}C$ was about $13\mu$Ω.cm. The electrode structure was possible to apply for ferroelectric thin film integration of semiconductor memory devices.

벗김 전압전류법에 의한 루테늄의 미량 측정 (Trace Measurement of Ruthenium by Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetry)

  • 히드록실아민이 존재하는 붕산염 매질에서 루테늄(III)은 수은 표면에 사전농축이 잘 되었고 이 피흡착질의 환원 생성물에 의한 촉매 수소 전류를 측정함으로써 혼적량 루테늄을 정량할 수 있었다. 순환 전압전류법으로 산화환원 및 흡착 누적 특성을 조사하였다. 최적 조건은 다음과 같다: 붕산염 0.015 M, pH 2,5, 히드록실아민 0.55 M, 누적 전위 -0.70 V, 그리고 시차 펄스 모드에서 주사속도 5 mV/s이었다. 이 조건에서 검출한계는 $3{\times}10^{-10}$(7분 수집)이었다. 방해 가능한 다른 백금족 금속이온들의 허용량도 조사하였다.

Ru/RuO2전극에 성장한 PZT 박막의 특성에 관한 연구 (Properties of PZI Thin film on the Ru/RuO2 Electrode)

  • The structural and electrical properties of PZT (lead zirconate titante) thin films grown on Pt (platinum) and Ru/Ru $O_2$(ruthenium/ruthenium oxide) electrodes were investigated. Thin films of PZT were deposited on a variety of electrodes using the rf-magnetron sputtering process. PZT films exhibited polycrystalline structure with strong PZT (100) plane and weak (211) plane for an optimizied Pt electrode and (100), (101), (111), (200), (210), (211) planes for Ru/Ru $O_2$. Switching polarization versus fatigue characteristic of Pt/Ti electrodes showed 20% degradation up to 1 $\times$ 10$_{9}$ cycles. No significant fatigue was observed in the films on Ru/Ru $O_2$ electrodes up to Ix109 test cycles. The results show that the new Ru/Ru $O_2$ bottom electrodes are expected to reduce the degradation of ferroelectric fatigue.

  • Ruthenium (Ru) is a white metal and belongs to platinum group which is very stable chemically and has a high work function. It has been widely studied to apply Ru as an electrode material in memory devices and a Cu diffusion barrier metal for Cu interconnection due to good electrical conductivity and adhesion property to Cu layer. To planarize deposited Ru layer, chemical mechanical planarization(CMP) was suggested. However, abrasive particle can induce particle contamination on the Ru layer surface during CMP process. In this study, zeta potentials of Ru and interaction force of alumina particles with Ru substrate were measured as a function of pH. The etch rate and oxidation behavior were measured as a function of chemical concentration of several organic acids and other acidic and alkaline chemicals. PRE (particle removal efficiency) was also evaluated in cleaning chemical.

장기운전에 의한 직접메탄올 연료전지 스택의 성능 열화 분석 (Diagnosis of Performance Degradation of Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Stack after Long-Term Operation)

  • 50 $cm^2$의 활성면적을 가진 셀을 이용하여 5-셀 DMFC 스택을 제작하고 4 A의 부하로 4,000 시간 운전한 후 성능감소 및 성능 감소 원인을 분석하였다. 4,000 시간 운전 후 10 A에서 스택의 전력 밀도가 28.7% 감소하였으며 다섯개의 셀 중 두 개는 거의 성능저하가 일어나지 않았고 두 개는 약 40%의 성능 저하, 한 개는 약 60%의 성능 저하를 보였으며 각 셀별 성능저하의 정도의 차이는 스택 내에서의 위치와 상관관계가 없었다. 스택 내의 다섯 셀 중 가장 성능감소가 심하였던 셀의 경우 연료극 촉매층의 Pt 입자 크기가 증가하였으며 연료가 들어가는 쪽의 Pt 입자의 크기 증가가 더 심하였다. 그러나 4,000 시간 장기운전 후 공기극 촉매층에서는 Pt 입자 크기의 변화는 거의 없었다. 스택 내의 모든 셀에서 4,000 시간 운전 후 연료극 촉매에서 공기극 촉매로의 루테늄의 크로스오버가 SEM-EDX로 관찰되었으며 특히 성능감소가 심하였던 셀의 경우 공기극 촉매층에서 Ru/Pt의 비율이 가장 컸다.

  • PEM(proton exchange membrane) fuel cell have been receiving considerable interest as power source because of high-energy efficiency. However by using reforming hydrogen gas, CO poisoning occur in anode. To improve CO tolerance PtRu catalysts were prepared by galvanostatic pulse electrodeposition. The composition(atomic ratio) of catalysts are controllable by using different concentrations of PtRu solutions. Also, the particle sizes of PtRu on carbon are similar to about $3.5{\sim}4nm$ regardless of concentration.
