나피온을 이용하여 패키징된 무효소 혈당센서의 혈장 및 전혈에서의 특성 평가 (Characterization of Nafion Coated Non-enzymatic Glucose Sensor in Human Plasma and Whole Blood)

  • 본 논문에서는 nanoporous Pt (Platinum) 전극을 이용한 무효소 혈당센서의 생체 적합성 및 전류응답 특성 향상을 위해 다양한 패키징 방법이 제안되었다. 생체적합성을 갖는 Nafion 멤브레인을 dipping, spin coating, chemical bonding 방법으로 패키징 한 후, 다양한 글루코오스 농도의 혈장, 전혈에서 특성을 분석, 비교하였다. 단백질 등이 포함되지 않은 환경에서 spin coating 방법으로 패키징한 센서의 전류응답 특성은 가장 좋았지만, 혈장 및 전혈에서는 dipping, chemical bonding 방법으로 패키징한 센서의 전류응답 특성에 미치지 못했다. Nafion film을 센서와 chemical bonding한 센서의 혈장에서 sensitivity 는 0.32 ${\mu}A/mM{\cdot}cm^2$ 이었다. 한편, 전혈에서 bare 센서가 급격한 bio-fouling 현상을 보이는 반면 패키징한 센서는 글루코오스 농도에 따라 일정한 전류변화를 보였다. 이는 Nafion을 이용하여 패키징한 무효소 혈당 센서가 생체환경에 적합할 뿐 아니라 생체이식형 및 연속 측정 가능한 시스템에 적용 가능함을 보여준다.

다중벽 탄소 나노튜브를 이용한 유동 압력 검출 (Pressure sensing of air flow using multi-walled carbon nanotubes)

  • We describe the fabrication and characterization of a doubly clamped multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT). The device was assembled by an application of electric field in solution. The MWNT was clamped on end of metal trench electrodes in solution and deposited with additional platinum (Pt) on edge of electrode for firmly suspending the MWNT by focused ion beam (FIB). The MWNTs range of diameter and length were 100 to 150 nm and 1.5 to $2{\mu}m$, respectively. Electrical characteristics of fabricated devices were measured by I-V curve and impedance analysis. The mechanical deformation was observed by resistivity in high air pressure. Resonant frequency around 6.8 MHz was detected and resistivity was linearly varied according to the magnitude of air pressure. This device could have potential applications in nanoelectronics and various sensors.

Tunable Electrical Properties of Aligned Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Network-based Devices: Metallization and Chemical Sensor Applications

  • Here we report the tunable electrical properties and chemical sensor of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) network-based devices with a functionalization technique. Formation of highly aligned SWCNT structures is made on $SiO_2/Si$ substrates using a template-based fluidic assembly process. We present a Platinum (Pt)-nanocluster decoration technique that reduces the resistivity of SWCNT network-based devices. This indicates the conversion of the semiconducting SWCNTs into metallic ones. In addition, we present the Hydrogen Sulfide ($H_2S$) gas detection by a redox reaction based on SWCNT networks functionalized with 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) as a catalyst. We summarize current changes of devices resulting from the redox reactions in the presence of $H_2S$. The semiconducting (s)-SWCNT device functionalized with TEMPO shows high gas response of 420% at 60% humidity level compared to 140% gas response without TEMPO functionalization, which is about 3 times higher than bare s-SWCNT sensor at the same RH. These results reflect promising perspectives for real-time monitoring of $H_2S$ gases with high gas response and low power consumption.

Electrochemical Study of [Ni63-Se)2μ4-Se)3(dppf)3] Cluster and Its Catalytic Activity towards the Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon Dioxide

  • The redox behavior of a [Ni6(μ3-Se)2(μ4-Se)3(Fe(η 5-C5H4P-Ph2)2)3] (= [Ni-Se-dppf], dppf = 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene) cluster was studied using platinum (Pt) and glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) in nonaqueous media. The cluster showed electrochemical activity at the potential range between +1.6 and ?1.6 V. In the negative region (0 to ?1.6 V), the cluster exhibited two-step reductions. The first step was one-electron reversible, while the second step was a five-electron quasi-reversible process. On the other hand, in the positive region (0 to +1.6 V), the first step involved one-electron quasi-reversible process. The applicability of the cluster was found towards the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 and was evaluated by experiments using rotating ring disc electrode (RRDE). RRDE experiments demonstrated that two electrons were involved in the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CO at the Se-Ni-dppf-modified electrode.

팔라디움-은합금에 의한 도재의 색조변화 및 변색작용에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE COLOR CHANCE OF CERAMIC BY Pd-Ag ALLOY AND MECHANISM)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the tendency of color change of ceramic, and its mechanism un der the influence of Pd-Ag alloy. The specimens were made by firing porcelain on tile metal plates cast with Au-Pt alloy, Pd-Cu alloy and Pd-Ag alloy. In the case of Pd-Ag alloy, specimens were fired under three different conditions as follows, 1) without protection, 2) protection with ceramic metal conditioner, 3) protection with carbon block. For the specimens of element analysis, a barrier was constructed with platinum foil between metal plate and ceramic. Color change was measured with colorimeter and elemental changes in ceramic were calculated with DC argon plasma emission spectrophotometer. The results were as follows : 1. Color change of ceramic by Pd-Ag alloy was negligible in hue, but decreased in value and increased in chroma (yellow discoloration). 2. Color change of ceramic by Pd-Ag alloy was appeared through vapor transport mechanism. 3. As the protection method for the color change of ceramic by Pd-Ag alloy, application of ceramic metal conditioner was superior to utilization of carbon block.

  • Today, human beings are faced with crisis of environmental pollution and fuel exhaustion because energy consumption has increased rapidly as a rise in population, therefore human beings are in need of hydrogen energy as a substitute energy. Hydrogen has the advantages of cleanness and boundlessness, but it has difficulties of storage and safety. Making a nameless hydrogen burner for household in consideration of hydrogen's peculiarity was tried. This hydrogen burner utilized the heat of reaction that was emitted when water was formed by reaction of hydrogen and oxygen, It was tried to impregnate Pt catalyst in ceramic fiber(substrate) for the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen to be reacted more easily. This experiment was inquired that hydrogen is appropriate for being used as burner fuel in home and found out whether its safe usefulness is possible or not.

ZnO 나노휘스커 소재를 이용한 MEMS가스센서의 소비전력과 메탄 감응 특성 연구 (Methane sensing characteristics and power consumption of MEMS gas sensor based on ZnO nanowhiskers)

  • A low power gas sensor with microheater was fabricated by MEMS technology. In order to heat up the gas sensing material to a operating temperature, a platinum(Pt) micro heater was built on to the micromachined Si substrate. The width and gap of microheater were $20\;{\mu}m$ and $4.5\;{\mu}m$, respectively. ZnO nanowhisker arrays were fabricated on a sensor device by hydrothermal method. The sensor device was deposited with ZnO seeds using PLD systems. A 200 ml aqueous solution of 0.1 mol zinc nitrate hexahydrate, 0.1 mol hexamethylenetetramine, and 0.02 mol polyethylenimine was used for growthing ZnO nanowhiskers. The power consumption to heat up the gas sensor to a operating temperature was measured and temperature distribution of sensor was analyzed by a Infrared Thermal Camera. The optimum temperature for highest sensitivity was found to be $250^{\circ}C$ although relatively high(64 %) sensitivity was obtained even at as low as $150^{\circ}C$. The power consumption was 72 mW at $250^{\circ}C$ and was only 25 mW at $150^{\circ}C$.

공기정화기용 광촉매 필터의 성능-귀금속 담지 영향 (The Performance of Photocatalyst filter for an Air Cleaner-Effect of novel metal)

  • 기상 휘발성 유기화합물인 아세톤과 포름알데히드에 대한 분해반응을 $TiO_2$ 광촉매에 귀금속을 혼합 담지하여 분해능을 연구하였다. 아세톤의 경우 $TiO_2$에 팔라디움 혼합담지에 의하여 분해 반응성이 개선되었으며, 일반적인 광촉매 반응에 있어서 수분의 첨가시 OH기의 형성에 따른 분해반응성의 증가를 실험한 결과 아세톤의 경우 수분의 흡착에 의하여 분해반응성이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 아세톤의 경우 $45^{\circ}C$가 최적으로 나타났으며, 포름알데히드의 경우는 $75^{\circ}C$가 최적으로 나타났다. 귀금속 담지에 의한 영향에서는 아세톤의 경우 Pd를 $TiO_2$의 중량비 1wt%를 첨가한 경우 반응성의 향상을 보았으며, 포름알데히드의 경우 Pt가 반응성의 향상을 나타내었다.

  • There has been increasing interest in the applications of synthesized molecules of nanometer scale in recent years due to their potential utilization in various fields such as biology, optoelectronics and molecular electronics. In this study, the terpyridine-platinum (II) complex on the periphery of the dendritic carbosilane has been prepared from the reaction of Pt(COD)Cl2 and the 4'-functionalized-(2,2':6',2"-terpyridine) on dendrimers. The self-assembly process was carried out to obtain indivially dispersed dendrimer on Au (111) substrate. It was found that STM was unsuitable to obtain a obvious image of dendrimers. Tapping-mode atomic force microscopy(AFM) has been used to investigate the shape and size of dendrimers individually dispersed on Au (111)substrate. As a result, the imaged single dendrimer show that dendrimer is dome shaped and its size can be measured by tapping-mode AFM.

Synthesis of CoSe2/RGO Composites and Its Application as a Counter Electrode for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

  • In this study, cobalt diselenide ($CoSe_2$) and the composites ($CoSe_2@RGO$) of $CoSe_2$ and reduced graphene oxide (RGO) were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal reaction using cobalt ions and selenide source with or without graphene oxide (GO). The formation of $CoSe_2@RGO$ composites was identified by analysis with X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Electrochemical analyses demonstrated that the $CoSe_2@RGO$ composites have excellent catalytic activity for the reduction of $I_3{^-}$, possibly indicating a synergetic effect of $CoSe_2$ and RGO. As a consequence, the $CoSe_2@RGO$ composites were applied as a counter electrode in DSSC for the reduction of redox couple electrolyte, and exhibiting the comparable power conversion efficiency (7.01%) to the rare metal platinum (Pt) based photovoltaic device (6.77%).
