Floating wind turbines have been suggested as a feasible solution for going further offshore into deeper waters. However, floating platforms cause additional unsteady motions induced by wind and wave conditions, so that it is difficult to predict annual energy output of wind turbines by using conventional power prediction method. That is because sectional inflow condition on a rotor plane is varied by unsteady motion of floating platforms. Therefore, aerodynamic simulation using Vortex Lattice Method(VLM) were used to investigate the influence of motion on the aerodynamic performance of a floating offshore wind turbine. Simulation with individual motion of offshore platform were compared to the case of onshore platform and carried out according to the wave height and the wave angular frequency.
In this paper, a video conferencing system, which has been attracting significant attention as an immersive telepresence service owing to the recent emergence of 5G networks, is described. We propose a service platform for Giga Media based video conferencing for 5G convergence services. The video conferencing service consists of a traditional structure that provides information exchange through the transmission of video and voice of remote participants using a Multipoint Control Unit (MCU), a browser-based video conferencing based on WebRTC, a multi-view point video conferencing, and holographic telepresence centered on mixed reality. The paper introduces the trends and detailed structures of various technologies used in the video conferencing system, and compares the video conferencing system technologies and video conferencing service characteristics for the integrated Giga Media platform.
The MPI CyberMotion Simulator provides a unique motion platform, as it features an anthropomorphic robot with a large workspace, combined with an actuated cabin and a linear track for lateral movement. This paper introduces the simulator as a tool for studying human perception, and compares its characteristics to conventional Stewart platforms. Furthermore, an experimental evaluation is presented in which multimodal human control behavior is studied by identifying the visual and vestibular responses of participants in a roll-lateral helicopter hover task. The results show that the simulator motion allows participants to increase tracking performance by changing their control strategy, shifting from reliance on visual error perception to reliance on simulator motion cues. The MPI CyberMotion Simulator has proven to be a state-of-the-art motion simulator for psychophysical research to study humans with various experimental paradigms, ranging from passive perception experiments to active control tasks, such as driving a car or flying a helicopter.
This paper presents compact cryptographic hardware architecture suitable for the Mobile Trusted Module (MTM) that requires low-area and low-power characteristics. The built-in cryptographic engine in the MTM is one of the most important circuit blocks and contributes to the performance of the whole platform because it is used as the key primitive supporting digital signature, platform integrity and command authentication. Unlike personal computers, mobile platforms have very stringent limitations with respect to available power, physical circuit area, and cost. Therefore special architecture and design methods for a compact cryptographic hardware module are required. The proposed cryptographic hardware has a chip area of 38K gates for RSA and 12.4K gates for unified SHA-1 and SHA-256 respectively on a 0.25um CMOS process. The current consumption of the proposed cryptographic hardware consumes at most 3.96mA for RSA and 2.16mA for SHA computations under the 25MHz.

The paper discusses technology platforms as an instrument of science, technology and innovation policy in light of their use in industrial R&D. The authors assert that the technology platforms approach as a policy concept refects special organizational and institutional features learned from industrial technology platforms. The characteristics of industrial technology platforms are reviewed, and their impact on the organization of research, development and innovation activities in companies is explored. Second, the industrial technology platform is examined in the context of European Technology Platforms and the recent initiative for technology platforms in Russia. Finally, the technology platform concept implications for the STI policy context are discussed.

Polyolefins show a very healthy growth rate among commodity polymer resins due to their low feedstock prices, recyclable and environmentally friendly characteristics and easily controllable performances. Capacity investment in polyolefin field is now moving from technology region to consumer region and feedstock region. Therefore, key success factors for polyolefin business in the other region such as Korea are cost reduction, development of highly value-added products and new applications and substitution of PVC, PS, PET and other EPs. To add additional value to commodity polyolefin products, high level of platform technology such as catalyst, process and structure-properties relationship is needed. Progress on polyolefin products has been very closely related to catalyst and process technology. According to this trend, SK Corporation has devoted a lot of research effort into development of new value-added polyolefin products based on the proprietary technology platform.
In this paper, we report a novel technique for the manufacture of polymeric bar-coded strips having diverse characteristics such as sensing with biocatalysts using a microfluidic platform and 'on the fly' photopolymerization. This method is a very simple, cost-effective means for mass production, and diverse materials sensitive to hazardous environments such as enzymes, DNA, or antigens are expected to be immobilized stably, as the fabrication process does not need any hazardous environments. On the basis of this technology, we fabricated enzyme-immobilized barcoded strip for multiple bio-analysis.
Understanding train-wind is the best method to know how to optimize subway ventilation system. The capacity and efficiency of the subway ventilation system are known by pressure and velocity while train runs. Analysis of the internal flow in subway tunnel and around subway station are studied using numerical methods. Characteristics of internal flow and influence of subway ventilation system for the subway station with platform screen door and tunnel are analyzed by unsteady state analysis. Velocity and pressure of train wind transformation are compared at around subway ventilation system and the internal flow is investigated at the subway tunnel.

This paper presents an equivalent linearization method and application to the equations of motion of a 6 degree-of-freedom PRRS HexaSlide type parallel manipulators which are characterized as the architecture with constant link lengths that are attached to moving sliders on the ground and to a mobile platform. Since dynamic equations of parallel manipulators are complicated and highly nonlinear, control bandwidth, adjustable control gain as well as vibration characteristics cannot be easily found. The proposed equivalent linearization method can be applied over specified workspace as well as on a path of mobile platform. Through an equivalent linearization method, one can easily get a simple linear dynamic model. This linearized dynamic model may be utilized in a simplified computed torque control strategy.
Satellite upper platform is optimized by response surface method which has non-gradient, semi-glogal, discrete and fast convergency characteristics. Sampling points are extracted by design of experiments using Central Composite Method and Factorial Design. Also response surface is generated by the various regression functions. Structure analysis is execuated with regard for static and dynamic environment in launching stage. As a result response surface method is superior to other optimization method with respect to optimum value and cost of computation time. Also a confidence is varified in the various regression models.
