  • This paper focused on the ways of disater prevention and risk analysis of the passengers setting up the hypothesis when urban rapid transit broke out fire in subway tunnel which is PSD(Platform Screen Door) installed environment. compared the flud dynamic changes and evacuation specifications whether PSD being installed or not, tried to search the effective ways for sustaining passengers safety.

  • The platform screen door(PSD) hasn't been installed yet within the manual operation system, that is, ATS & ATC Signal system. In other countries, it is mostly installed and operated within automatic operation system, that is, ATO. Especially, as a part of the environment friendly system installation, the installation of PSD shall be considered aggressively to improve the air quality in the underground area and to maintain the air-conditioning. Besides the number of suicides in the subway station gets increased these days causing safety hazard, so the installation of PSD is positively reviewed. To install PSD in the manual operation system, it is important to stop the train at the correct position. So we would like to suggest the technical system thereby.

  • A PSD system has a lot of characteristic for safety. Trust of performance test is very important. But PSD performance test has an effect on trust by proficiency of test staff because it is difficult to automate. In that specially the effort test, manual opening and shutting test and abrasion measurement, test staff is demanded for proficiency. Therefore the paper repeated measurement in same condition and studied proficient factor of examiner according to increased measurement counter. As a result, measurement uncertainty has improved.

  • Subway becomes more and more main transportation in major cities. Air pollution in the subway platforms is decreased; however, dust flow inside subway tunnel and train is increased by installing Platform Screen Door. Airflow inside subway tunnel is observed using computational method in this study The airflow characteristics around ventilation shafts and inside the tunnel is studied following the train movement, while the train moves from existing Miasamgeori station to Gireum station ANSYS CFX V12.0.l and ICEM CFD V12.0.l are used to compute the airflow inside the subway tunnel.

  • This paper is described the systematic activities of RCM to improve the availability for AREX railway system. The purpose of these activities are to maintain and enhance the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety, and to implement the effective maintenance for electrical and mechanical system including rolling stock, signalling, telecommunication, power supply, overhead catenary and platform screen door with impact to train operation.. The main activities consist of systematic failure and repair recording by integral information system, analysis and corresponding countermeasure. As applying these activities in opeartion and maintenance works, the availability of AREX railway system is going on improvement gradually, and maintenacne works are improved with these results.

  • After 1th line was built in 1974, the history of subway in Korea has been expended to 9th line which is under construction. It is time to prepare nation wide subway grounding system urgently according to the domestic electric standard that aligns to world wide standard by WTO/TBT treat (1995). Newly added grounding system to the fundamentally different system caused many problems. PSD(platform screen door) and other newly added equipment are also need grounding system. By the electrical code(established by Korea Electric Association), low voltage equipment(including grounding system) under 1,000V AC are in the process of change into IEC 60374. IEC 60364 standard will be added to the electrical code(established by Korea Electric Association) in 2007 and amended and after 3-5 years later, it will become a complete IEC 60364. So the purpose of this study is to compare the domestic rail road grounding system and suggest the standardized grounding system for the newly built subway.

Risk Analysis using Failure Data in Railway E&M System

  • In recent, the railway system consists of subsystems as rolling stock and infrastructures as signaling, telecommunication, power supply, overhead contact and platform screen door, etc. Furthermore, each subsystem has complicated interface so as not to understand these relationship. Consequently, to operate the railway system continuously with required safety and availability, the failure data should be corrected and analyzed systematically during operation. To achieve this object effectively, this paper presents the method which is evaluating the operational risk quantitatively using failure data, and selecting the critical equipment. Following this analysis, the improvement plan is established and applied to reduce the operational risk on system or equipment. From this study, the critical equipments of system could be determined and prioritized by risk analysis. Also, the effective maintenance to prevent critical failure could be implanted by this suggested methodology.

  • This study is concerned with the quantitative Quality of Service(QoS) of the Light Railway Transit(LRT) System. Generally, the QoS offered to passengers by the Operator of LRT system can be quantified in various ways. In this paper, we assumed that the QoS is a combination of both Train Delivery and Train Punctuality under considering LRT characteristics including core sub-systems such as, rolling stock, signalling, power-supply and PSD(platform screen door), etc. We also, provide a quantitative analysis method to evaluate the QoS related the reliability of LRT system.

  • Since the introduction of PSD in 2005, the number of accidents involving passengers falling onto the tracks accidentally or intentionally have drastically decreased, but the number of PSD related passenger accidents is increasing. While existing papers on PSD have been devoted to systemic introduction and system improvement, papers on passenger casuality accidents due to deteriorated PSD have been limited. This paper proposes revising of the scenario model for passenger accidents using classified hazard sources of PSD.

  • 기 현재 많은 역사 내에 PSD(Platform Screen Door)가 설치되어 있고, 이러한 PSD의 안전성이 중요시 되고 있다. 특히 운행중인 도시철도차량과의 간섭은 가장 중요한 부분으로 PSD와 차량의 충돌은 차량 및 승강장에 위치한 승객의 안전을 위협하기 때문이다. 곡선구간에 위치한 승강장을 차량이 진입할 때에 차량의 병진운동과 회전운동을 하기 때문에 PSD와 충분한 간격을 가지고 있어야 한다. 차량의 병진운동과 회전운동은 레일상태, 차량한계, 차량속도 등에 의해 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 도시철도차량, 레일, 기타 매개변수들과 같이 차량의 움직임에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 고려한 도시철도차량의 동적 해석방법을 제시하고자 한다.
