  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the water quantity of the rainwater detention system based on the Planning Simulation in Residential Areas. The contents of this research consists of two main parts. The first part is to calculate the supply water quantity of the rainwater detention system and the demand water quantity of the Wonheungs' ecological park. The second part is to analyze the difference between demand and supply of water quantity, based on the Planning Simulation, in the rainwater detention system. This research will contribute to the establishment of the environment-friendly site planning methods which increase the quality of residential environment in apartment housing.

  • To maintain competitiveness in the modern automotive market, it is important to carry out process planning concurrently with new car development processes. Process planners need to make decisions concurrently and collaboratively in order to reduce manufacturing preparation time for developing a new car. Automated generation of a simulation model by using the integrated process plan database can reduce time consumed for carrying out a simulation and allow a consistent model to be used throughout. In this research, we developed a web-based system for concurrent and collaborative process planning and flow analysis for an automotive general assembly using web, database, and simulation technology. A single integrated database is designed to automatically generate simulation models from process plans without having to rework the data. This system enables process planners to evaluate their decisions quickly, considering various factors, and easily share their opinions with others. By using this collaborative system, time and cost put into the assembly process planning can be reduced and the reliability of the process plan would be improved.

DL-RRT* algorithm for least dose path Re-planning in dynamic radioactive environments

  • One of the most challenging safety precautions for workers in dynamic, radioactive environments is avoiding radiation sources and sustaining low exposure. This paper presents a sampling-based algorithm, DL-RRT*, for minimum dose walk-path re-planning in radioactive environments, expedient for occupational workers in nuclear facilities to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure. The method combines the principle of random tree star ($RRT^*$) and $D^*$ Lite, and uses the expansion strength of grid search strategy from $D^*$ Lite to quickly find a high-quality initial path to accelerate convergence rate in $RRT^*$. The algorithm inherits probabilistic completeness and asymptotic optimality from $RRT^*$ to refine the existing paths continually by sampling the search-graph obtained from the grid search process. It can not only be applied to continuous cost spaces, but also make full use of the last planning information to avoid global re-planning, so as to improve the efficiency of path planning in frequently changing environments. The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method was verified by simulating radiation field under varying obstacles and radioactive environments, and the results were compared with $RRT^*$ algorithm output.

  • Multi Progress Planning System problem in a multi-stage manufacturing system have a complexity and peculiarity different from other kinds of production system. World leading company has invested much cost and effort into a Real-Time Planning System and intelligent manufacturing field to obtain their own competitiveness. Especially Real-Time Planning System for ship production process as a part of intelligence for a shipyard. Real-Time Planning System, simulation based system, or virtual manufacturing system is an approach to achieve a such goal. It is expected that the Real-Time Planning System will contribute to the improvement of the productivity in working process at a shipyard. Also, This Real-Time Planning System will optimize the entire shipbuilding process in a multi progress planning environment for the delivery.

농촌마을계획 지원을 위한 통합계획모의모형의 개발 (Development of Integrated Planning Simulation Model for Supporting Rural Village Planning)

  • This study aims to integrate the simulation models for rural settlement planning (SimRusep) in the district level (Myon) area of rural counties. The SimRusep, which has two modules of key villages selection and spatial planning for the selected villages, consists of four sub-models such as the spatial location-allocation model of center villages (SLAMCV), the potential centrality evaluation model (PCEM), the land use planning model (LUPM), and the 3-dimensional spatial planning modeller (3DSPLAM). Basically, map data of the integrated system which can be operated on the UNIX environment is inputted and treated using GIS (ARC/INFO) and then its village planning results is graphically presented on the AutoCAD. In order to verify the practical applicabilities of the SimRusep, an administrative area, Ucheon-myun, HoengSung-gun, KangWon-do, was selected as a case study area. It was well operated in the strategic application trials considering application of each sub-model in the study area. The operation results of the SimRusep showed the possibilities of realtime simulation from the selection of key village to its final stereoscopic presentation of planned results. Alternative village plan proposals can be swiftly drafted, which means very practical support for decision making process and public participation.

The Reliability of Preoperative Simulation Surgery Planning for Distraction Osteogensis in Craniosynostosis Patients

  • Background Craniosynostosis management using distraction osteogensis represent a challenge for surgeons due to the great variability of the skull deformity even within the same etiology. The ability to apply the simulation surgery for improving the preoperative planning for distraction osteogensis could improve the results.Planning and Simulation 14 patients presented with craniosynostosis had been subjected to simulation surgery prior to real surgery. 3D CT scans was obtained upon patient admission. Adjustment of all skull position to Frankfort horizontal plane was done. 3 different distraction osteogensis plans were done for each patient according to the skull morphology. For each plane, movement for each bone segment was done according to the pre-planned distraction vectors. Also the distances of distractions were pre-determined according to the cephalic index as well as brain volume. Intraoperatively, we choose the most appropriate plan for the patient by the surgeon. At the end of distraction, 3D CT scan was obtained, and was compared to the simulation plan. Also the distance and the direction of distraction was compared to that of the plan. Accordingly, the distance was almost matching that of the simulation surgery, however the vector of distraction was not matched.Conclusion Preoperative stimulation planning for craniosynostosis patient is very valuable tool in the surgical management of craniosynostosis patients.

A Comparison of Guided Missile Simulations Between EADSIM and SADM in Composite Combat Mission Planning Simulation Environments

  • High Level Architecture/Run-Time Infrastructure (HLA/RTI) is used to connect individual simulators on networks in order to interoperate heterogeneous simulators. In defense domain, Ship Air Defense Model (SADM) and Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM) are two of most advanced simulation tools. To interoperate these SADM and EADSIM, this paper attempts to use HLA/RTI that helps to support a Composite Combat Mission Planning Simulation Environment (CCMPSE). The CCMPSE allows us to analyze a group of simulations for comprehensive and accurate experiments. For the first time, this paper analyzes guided missile simulations in EADSIM and SADM by comparing related simulation models in their parameters and considerations. It presents characteristics of these models in view of guided missile simulation perspectives. For the contributions of this paper, it provides insights to select guided missiles between SADM and EADSIM on the CCMPSE according to specific simulation purposes.

시스템 다이내믹스를 활용한 마을만들기 모형구축 연구 (A Study on the Community Planning Model Using for System Dynamics)

  • The purpose of this study is to use system dynamics to establish the relation among each variable through the construction process of Community Planning Model, and examine what changes policy scenarios per alternative cause in Community Planning through policy simulation of the constructed model. Therefore, this study extracted chief variables of Community Planning Projects through precedent researches related to Community Planning, and extracted variables were prepared as causal map to examine in what causal cycle feedback structure within Community Planning they can be explained. Next, Community Planning Model was constructed based on the prepared causal map. The model was verified by specialists' interviews and simulation of example areas. This study, which aimed to construct Community Planning Model using system dynamics, has a significance in that it prepared the foundation to provide useful methodology in monitoring the progress of project or establishing the plan of future Community Planning Projects.

중립파일 기반의 조선소 시뮬레이션 환경에 관한 연구 (An Approach for Construction of Shipyard Simulation Environment based on Neutral File Format)

  • In shipbuilding, the scheduling system is susceptible to sudden changes and thus it turns to be difficult to predict the differences between schedule and production records in advance. A computer-based simulation is commonly utilized to overcome the discrepancies occurred in estimating workloads and resulting processing times. The main drawback of this simulation-based solution is its limited applicability because, in most cases, each shipyard requires specific and customized simulation environment. By standardizing the planning data of the midterm scheduling system, as proposed in this paper, the efficiency of the current simulation model can be enhanced. To present an alternative approach, this paper begins with the analysis of the complex planning data structure of several shipyards and then proceeds to construct a standard data structure based on the neutral format. An interface application is developed for the data transaction and simulation in on-line environment. As a result, a simulation-based production management of shipyards can be achieved by the efficient prediction of planning and scheduling.

  • 본 연구에서는 조선 공정 계획의 수립 완성도 향상을 위한 다양한 시뮬레이션 시스템의 개발을 지원하는 시뮬레이션 프레임 워크(simulation framework)를 제안하였다. 그리고 제안된 시뮬레이션 프레임워크의 핵심 부분인 시뮬레이션 커널을 구현하였다. 구현된 시뮬레이션 커널은 이산 사건(discrete event)과 이산 시간(discrete time) 시뮬레이션뿐만 아니라 이들이 혼합된 형태의 시뮬레이션도 처리 가능하도록 하였다. 제안된 시뮬레이션 프레임워크의 효율성과 효용성을 평가하기 위해, 이를 조선 분야의 블록 탑재 공정(block erection process)에 적용하였다. 그 결과, 제안된 시뮬레이션 프레임워크가 조선 공정 계획을 위한 다양한 시뮬레이션 시스템을 개발하는데 효과적으로 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.
