  • A semi-infinite interfacial crack propagated with constant velocity in two bonded anisotropic strips under out-of-plane clamped displacements is analyzed. Using Fourier integral transform the problem is formulated and the Wiener-Hopf equation is derived. By solving this equation the asymptotic stress and displacement fields near the crack tip are obtained, where the results get more general expressions applicable not only to isotropic/orthotropic materials but also to the extent of the anisotropic material having one plane of elastic symmetry for the interfacial crack. The dynamic stress intensity factor is obtained as a closed form, which is decreased as the velocity of crack propagation increases. The critical velocity where the stress intensity factor comes to zero is obtained, which agrees with the lower value between the critical values of parallel crack merged in the material 1 and 2 adjacent to the interface. Using the near tip fields of stresses and displacements, the dynamic energy release rate is also obtained as a form of the stress intensiy factor.

  • This study discusses a non-contact optical technique electronic, electronic speckle pattern interferometry(ESPI) that is well suited for in-plane and out-of-plane deformation measurement Used as specimen which has the boundary condition of two clamped parallel edges composite material AS4/PEEK[30/-30/90]s was analyzed by ESPI to determined the characteristics of tensile and vibration. These are quantitativly compared with the result of FEM analysis. Finally the results of this study are briefly summarized as follows : (1) In the in-plane strain analysis by comparison of theoretical results with experimental results qualitatively we confirmed that measurement errors are within 3 % in case of accuracy (2) From comparison of experimental vibration modes with numerical vibration mode shapes by the FEM analysis quantitatively we confirmed that vibration mode measurement by the ESPI has high accuacy.

  • The characteristics of the internal circuits and the load capacitance should be included to optimize the size of BiCMOS buffer. In order to get the optimum size and delay time of the BiCMOS buffer, new size plane is suggested. By using the size plane, the optimum characteristics of CMOS buffer according to the number of stages can be obtained. From this method, delaytime, .tau.$_{D}$, is obtained 2.39 nsec with $V_{\var}$=5V, $C_{L}$=5pF, W=30.mu.m and $A_{e}$=135.mu. $m^{2}$.>..>...>.

  • SF6 widely used as insulating gas is rising as the environment problem. For decreasing this greenhouse gas, electrical breakdown characteristics of vacuum with air are studied in non-uniform field. The gap of needle to plane was 0.5mm, 0.8mm. The pressure of vacuum the range of 10^-4-10^-5torr. The diameter of a plane made of the stainless steel is150mm. As a result of the experiment, the breakdown voltage is increased about electrode gap distance increased. The electrode material influenced breakdown voltage in vacuum.

  • Surface edge crack in transversely isotropic piezoelectric material is analyzed. The concentrated antiplane mechanical and inplane electrical loadings are applied to an arbitrary point of the surface, where the impermeable crack boundary condition is imposed. Using Mellin transform the problem is formulated, from which Wiener-Hopf equations are derived. By solving the equations the solution is obtained in a closed form. Mechanical and electric intensity factors and energy release rate are obtained and discussed. This problem could be used as a Green's function to generate the solutions of other problems with the same geometry but of different loading conditions.

  • In this paper, as a new measurement method to estimate the change of material condition, the simplified ultrasonic CT system, which uses the information of three directions, that is, $90^{\circ}$, $+45^{\circ}C$and $-45^{\circ}C$ about inspection plane is proposed. Use of simplified CT system has two merits: Firstly, the measurement time is very short compared with general CT. Secondly, it can detect sensitively small defect in vertical or slant direction about inspection plane because the obtained image is CT image calculated from three directions. From these merits, this method can be considered as an effective method to evaluate material conditions. The basic performance of the proposed method was confirmed through several specimens with several simple defects. In order to confirm the applicability of actual NDT, several kinds of welded specimens are investigated. The result showed that the CT image obtained had good agreement with actual defect of specimens.

  • ZnO thin films were deposited on Al and Pt electrodes by an RF reactive sputtering system for the fabrication of FBAR (film bulk acoustic wave resonator), and the effect of thermal treatment temperature on their c-axis preferred orientation was investigated. SEM experiments show that columnar structure of ZnO thin films were grown with c-axis normal to electrode material, and XRD experiments show that both ZnO films were grown with (002) plane preferred orientation, but larger diffraction peak was observed with Pt electrode. The peak intensity increased with higher thermal treatment temperature, but c-axis preferred orientation was diminished. The surface roughness of Al thin film was higher than that of Pt, and these affect the surface roughness of ZnO film deposited on the electrode. Though the preferred orientation with respect to Pt(111) plane was improved with higher thermal treatment temperature, this could not improve the c-axis orientation of ZnO film.

  • The dynamic propagation of an interface crack between two dissimilar functionally graded layers under anti-plane shear is analyzed using the integral transform method. The properties of the functionally graded layers vary continuously along the thickness. A constant velocity Yoffe-type moving crack is considered. Fourier transform is used to reduce the problem to a dual integral equation, which is then expressed to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. Numerical values on the dynamic energy release rate (DERR) are presented. Followings are helpful to increase of the resistance of the interface crack propagation of FGM: a) increase of the gradient of material properties; b) increase of the material properties from the interface to the upper and lower free surface; c) increase of the thickness of FGM layer. The DERR increases or decreases with increase of the crack moving velocity.

  • In this paper the corona discharge in SF$_{6}$ gas used as insulating material in lots o high voltage equipment, is simulated by finite element method with Flux-Corrected Transport(FCT) method. By application of proposed method the negative corona discharge characteristics in needle to plane electrode is analyzed with time step. For the accuracy of analysis the secondary electron emission by photon and ion are also considered as well as the accuracy of analysis the secondary electron emission by photon and ion are also considered as well as townsend first ionization and electron attachment. The calculated results show that the electric field intensity between anode and ion group is decreased as times go-by according to field distortion by those space charge. Accordingly the electron density is decreased strongly by the attatchment effect of SF6 gas so that the corona discharge becomes extinguished abruptly.y.

  • In this paper, the mechanical behaviour of functionally graded material beams is studied using the 3D Saint-Venant's theory, in which the section is free to warp in and out of its plane (Poisson's effects and out-of-plane warpings). The material properties of the FGM beam are distributed continuously through the thickness by several distributions, such as power-law distribution, exponential distribution, Mori-Tanaka schema and sigmoid distribution. The proposed method has been applied to study a simply supported FGM beam. The numerical results obtained are compared to other models in the literature, which show a high performance of the 3D exact theory used to describe the stress and strain fields in FGM beams.
