선박 내 자동심장충격기 설치 및 관리와 활용개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Placement, Management, and Utilization Improvement of the Automatic External Defibrillator in Ships)

  • 선박은 육상지원에 제한이 있으므로 심정지 환자발생을 대비하여 AED를 갖추고 올바른 설치와 철저한 관리가 요구된다. 그리고 선원은 AED를 사용할 수 있는 해기능력을 갖추어야 한다. 본 연구는 선박 내 AED 활용성을 높이기 위하여, AED 설치현황과 관리실태를 파악하고 선원들의 AED 사용능력 및 사용의향을 분석하여 개선방안을 제시하기 위한 조사연구이다. 2019년 9월 9일부터 2020년 2월 20일까지 진행하였으며, 총 244척의 선박과 244명의 선원을 대상으로 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여, 빈도와 백분율, 카이제곱 검정으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, AED 수가 1대인 선박이 대부분이었고, AED 설치 및 관리가 적정하지 못한 선박도 일부 확인되었다. AED 교육참여 경험이 있는 대상자는 142명(58.2 %)이고, AED 사용의향은 136명(55.7 %)이 있었으며, 저해요인은 사용방법을 모름(63.0 %)이 가장 높았다. AED 사용의향은 직책에서는 선장, 항해사, 근무부서에서는 갑판부가 높았고, 교육 참여경험이 있고 교육시점이 6개월 미만인 경우 AED 사용에 적극적이었다. 따라서, 선박 내 AED 설치개수에 대한 기준을 정립하여 AED 추가배치를 고려하고, AED 관리지침을 준수하도록 할 필요가 있다. 또한, 선박 내 AED 사용의향이 낮은 항해사 외의 직군에 대해 AED 교육훈련 및 인식제고 노력이 필요하며, 선원들의 AED 사용능력 등을 평가하여, 적정한 재교육 주기에 대한 검토가 필요하다.

멀티미디어 서버에서 에너지 절약을 위한 데이터 배치 및 전원 관리 (Data placement and power management for energy saving in multimedia servers)

  • 최근 인터넷 기반 대용량 데이터 서비스에 수요가 급증함에 따라 대규모 데이터 센터의 필요성이 커지고 있다. 하지만 이러한 데이터 센터에서는 수많은 서버와 장비를 운영하기 위해 막대한 에너지를 소모한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 서버에서 시스템의 부하 수준에 따라서 특정 서버들에 부하를 집중시킨 후 서버를 즉시 종료함으로써 에너지를 절약하는 기법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 비디오 재생 요청이 전체 시스템에 균등하게 배분될 수 있도록 인기도에 따라 각 비디오가 저장되는 서버 그룹 수를 결정한다. 마지막으로 실험을 통하여 본 논문에서 제안하는 멀티미디어 서버에서 데이터 배치 및 전원 관리 기법이 서비스 품질을 유지하면서 기존의 방법에 비해 전원을 켜는 서버 수를 줄임으로써 에너지를 크게 감소시킨다는 것을 보인다.

경막외 카테테르 거치후 발생한 척수경막외 농양 -증례 보고- (Epidural Abscess Following Epidural Catheterization -Two cases-)

  • Epidural abscess is associated with placement of epidural catheter is very rare. We experienced two cases of epidural abscess formation after placement of epidural catheter for pain management. A 63 years old female patient received thoracic epidural catheterization for management of pain due to herpes zoster on right T4 dermatome. Two weeks after catheterization, she complained of paraparesis and anesthesia below $T_4$ dermatome. Four weeks later magnetic resonance images was performed and revealed epidural abscess on $T_2-T_5$. Emergent decompressive laminectomy was performed but neurologic symptoms were not improved. In other case, a 75 years old male patient received lumbar epidural catheterization for management of Buerger's disease. About on month later, pus was aspirated from lumbar epidural space. But further evaluation could not be achieved because he wanted to discharge against advice. We emphasize that epidural abscess results sequele serious and prompt diagnosis and treatment is important.

  • Fuel cell systems for medium duty truck require high power demands under driving. Since high power demands results in significant heat generation, thermal management is crucial for the performance and durability of medium duty truck. Therefore, various configurations of dual stacks with cooling systems are investigated to understand appropriate thermal management conditions. The simulation model consists of a dynamic fuel cell stack model, a cooling system model equipped with a controller, and the mounted controller applies a feedback controller to control the operating temperature. Also, In order to minimize parasitic power, the comparison of the cooling systems involved in the arrangement was divided into three case. As a result, this study compares the reaction of fuel cells to the placement of the cooling system under a variety of load conditions to find the best placement method.

  • 본 연구는 HAP(High Altitude Platform) 기반 네트워크 구성에서 최적의 이동 기지국의 위치와 적용범위를 찾는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 지상 노드들을 BIRCH(Balanced Iterative Reducing and Clustering Using Hierarchies) 알고리즘을 응용하여 클러스터링(Clustering) 하였다. BIRCH 알고리즘의 특징인 계층적 구조를 통해 CF(Clustering-Feature) 트리를 만들어 모바일 노드들을 관리하였고, 최대 반경과 노드 수 제약조건으로 분할과 합병 과정을 수행하도록 하였다. 제주도를 기반으로 한 모빌리티 모델을 만들어 시뮬레이션 작업을 수행하였으며, 제약 조건에 만족하는 이동 기지국의 최적위치와 적용범위를 확인했다.

패션 브랜드 구매경험이 PPL(Product Placement) 커뮤니케이션 효과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Buying Experiences of the Fashion Brands on the PPL(Product Placement) Communication Effect)

  • This study measured the PPL communication effect whether the respondents had purchased the PPL products in the movie or not. The experiment of this study was held to females in their twenties(mostly university or graduate school students), and they answered the questionaries after being exposed to the 15-minute-edited movie. The results were as follows. In cognitive dimension, there were no differences of the recognition and the recall between two groups. In emotional and behavioral dimensions, the group with the purchase experiences of the PPL brands in the movie showed the more positive brand attitude and the higher purchase intention. The implications based on this results are as follows. First, to strengthen the brand image, the brand identity has to be established systematically. Second, the fashion marketers should constantly implement CRM(Customers Relationship Management) to the customers who purchased the brand products to make them loyal customers.

Effects of Intramuscular Electrical Stimulation Using Inversely Placed Electrodes on Myofascial Pain Syndrome in the Shoulder - A Case Series

  • Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is one of the common musculoskeletal conditions of the shoulder which may develop sensory-motor and autonomic dysfunctions at the various level of the neuromuscular system. The pain and dysfunction caused by MPS were primarily treated with physical therapy and pharmacological agents in order to achieve painfree movements. However, in recent years intramuscular electrical stimulation (IMES) with conventional electrode placement was used by researchers to maximise therapeutic values. But, in this study an inverse electrode placement was used to deliver electrical impulses intramuscularly to achieve neuro-modulation at the various level of the nervous system. Nine patients with MPS were treated with intramuscular electrode stimulation using inversely placed electrodes for a period of three weeks. All nine subjects recovered from their shoulder pain and disability within the few weeks of intervention. So, this inverse electrode placement may be more appropriate for chronic pain management.

Outcome and Cost Effectiveness of Ultrasonographically Guided Surgical Clip Placement for Tumor Localization in Patients undergoing Neo-adjuvant Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer

  • Background: To determine the outcome and cost saving by placing ultrasound guided surgical clips for tumor localization in patients undergoing neo-adjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer. Materials and Methods: This retrospective cross sectional analytical study was conducted at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan from January to December 2014. A sample of 25 women fulfilling our selection criteria was taken. All patients came to our department for ultrasound guided core biopsy of suspicious breast lesions and clip placement in the index lesion prior to neo-adjuvant chemotherapy. All the selected patients had biopsy proven breast cancer. Results: The mean age was $45{\pm}11.6years$. There were no complications seen after clip placement in terms of clip migration or hemorrhage. The cost of commercially available markers was approximately PKR 9,000 (US$ 90) and that of the surgical clip was PKR 900 (US$ 9). The cost of surgical clips in 25 patients was PKR 22,500 (US$ 225), when compared to the commercially available markers which may have incurred a cost of PKR 225,000 (US$ 2,250). The total cost saving for 25 patients was PKR 202,500 (US$ 2, 025), making it PKR 8100 (US$ 81) per patient. Conclusions: The results of our study show that ultrasound guided surgical clip placement in index lesions prior to neo-adjuvant therapy is a safe and cost effective method to identify tumor bed and response to treatment for further management.

Optimal Particle Swarm Based Placement and Sizing of Static Synchronous Series Compensator to Maximize Social Welfare

  • Social welfare maximization in a double-sided auction market is performed by implementing an aggregation-based particle swarm optimization (CAPSO) algorithm for optimal placement and sizing of one Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) device. Dallied simulation results (without/with line flow constraints and without/with SSSC) are generated to demonstrate the impact of SSSC on the congestion levels of the modified IEEE 14-bus test system. The proposed CAPSO algorithm employs conventional quadratic smooth and augmented quadratic nonsmooth generator cost curves with sine components to improve the accurate of the model by incorporating the valve loading effects. CAPSO also employs quadratic smooth consumer benefit functions. The proposed approach relies on particle swarm optimization to capture the near-optimal GenCos and DisCos, as well as the location and rating of SSSC while the Newton based load flow solution minimizes the mismatch equations. Simulation results of the proposed CAPSO algorithm are compared to solutions obtained by sequential quadratic programming (SQP) and a recently implemented Fuzzy based genetic algorithm (Fuzzy-GA). The main contributions are inclusion of customer benefit in the congestion management objective function, consideration of nonsmooth generator characteristics and the utilization of a coordinated aggregation-based PSO for locating/sizing of SSSC.

유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 다중계층 채널할당 셀룰러 네트워크 설계 (Hierarchical Cellular Network Design with Channel Allocation Using Genetic Algorithm)

  • With the limited frequency spectrum and an increasing demand for cellular communication services, the problem of channel assignment becomes increasingly important. However, finding a conflict free channel assignment with the minimum channel span is NP hard. As demand for services has expanded in the cellular segment, sever innovations have been made in order to increase the utilization of bandwidth. The innovations are cellular concept, dynamic channel assignment and hierarchical network design. Hierarchical network design holds the public eye because of increasing demand and quality of service to mobile users. We consider the frequency assignment problem and the base station placement simultaneously. Our model takes the candidate locations emanating from this process and the cost of assigning a frequency, operating and maintaining equipment as an input. In addition, we know the avenue and demand as an assumption. We propose the network about the profit maximization. This study can apply to GSM(Global System for Mobile Communication) which has 70% portion in the world. Hierarchical network design using GA(Genetic Algorithm) is the first three-tier (Macro, Micro, Pico) model, We increase the reality through applying to EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility Constraints). Computational experiments on 72 problem instances which have 15${\sim}$40 candidate locations demonstrate the computational viability of our procedure. The result of experiments increases the reality and covers more than 90% of the demand.
