Application of neural network for airship take-off and landing mode by buoyancy control (기낭 부력 제어에 의한 비행선 이착륙의 인공신경망 적용)

  • For long time, the takeoff and landing control of airship was worked by human handling. With the development of the autonomous control system, the exact controls during the takeoff and landing were required and lots of methods and algorithms were suggested. This paper presents the result of airship take-off and landing by buoyancy control using air ballonet volume change and performance control of pitch angle for stable flight within the desired altitude. For the complexity of airship's dynamics, firstly, simple PID controller was applied. Due to the various atmospheric conditions, this controller didn't give satisfactory results. Therefore, new control method was designed to reduce rapidly the error between designed trajectory and actual trajectory by learning algorithm using an artificial neural network. Generally, ANN has various weaknesses such as large training time, selection of neuron and hidden layer numbers required to deal with complex problem. To overcome these drawbacks, in this paper, the RBFN (radial basis function network) controller developed. The weight value of RBFN is acquired by learning which to reduce the error between desired input output through and airship dynamics to impress the disturbance. As a result of simulation, the controller using the RBFN is superior to PID controller which maximum error is 15M.

ON THE GALACTIC SPIRAL PATTERNS: STELLAR AND GASEOUS

  • The gas response to a proposed spiral stellar pattern for our Galaxy is presented here as calculated via 2D hydrodynamic calculations utilizing the ZEUS code in the disk plane. The locus is that found by Drimmel (2000) from emission profiles in the K band and at 240 ${\mu}m$. The self-consistency of the stellar spiral pattern was studied in previous work (see Martos et al. 2004). It is a sensitive function of the pattern rotation speed, $\Omega$p, among other parameters which include the mass in the spiral and its pitch angle. Here we further discuss the complex gaseous response found there for plausible values of $\Omega$p in our Galaxy, and argue that its value must be close to $20 km s^{-l}\;kpc^{-1}$ from the strong self-consistency criterion and other recent, independent studies which depend on such parameter. However, other values of $\Omega$p that have been used in the literature are explored to study the gas response to the stellar (K band) 2-armed pattern. For our best fit values, the gaseous response to the 2-armed pattern displayed in the K band is a four-armed pattern with complex features in the interarm regions. This response resembles the optical arms observed in the Milky Way and other galaxies with the smooth underlying two-armed pattern of the old stellar disk populations in our interpretation. The complex gaseous response appears to be related to resonances in stellar orbits. Among them, the 4:1 resonance is paramount for the axisymmetric Galactic model employed, and the set of parameters explored. In the regime seemingly proper to our Galaxy, the spiral forcing appears to be marginally strong in the sense that the 4:1 resonance terminates the stellar pattern, despite its relatively low amplitude. In current work underway, the response for low values of $\Omega$p tends to remove most of the rich structure found for the optimal self-consistent model and the gaseous pattern is ring-like. For higher values than the optimal, more features and a multi-arm structure appears.

Color Filter Based on a Sub-Wavelength Patterned Poly-Silicon Grating Fabricated using Laser Interference Lithography (광파장 이하의 주기를 갖는 다결정 실리콘 격자 기반의 컬러필터)

  • A color filter was proposed and demonstrated by incorporating a subwavelength patterned 1-dimensional grating in poly silicon. It was produced by employing the laser interference lithography method, providing much wider effective area compared to the conventional e-beam lithography. A $SiO_2$ layer was introduced on top of the silicon grating layer as a mask for the etching of the silicon, facilitating the etching of the silicon layer. It was theoretically found that the selectivity of the filter was also improved thanks to the oxide layer. The parameters for the designed device include the grating pitch of 450 nm, the grating height of 100 nm and the oxide-layer height of 200 nm. As for the fabricated filter, the spectral pass band corresponded to the blue color centered at 470 nm and the peak transmission was about 40%. Within the effective area of $3{\times}3mm^2$, the variation in the relative transmission efficiency and in the center wavelength was less than 10% and 2 nm respectively. Finally, the influence of the angle of the incident beam upon the transfer characteristics of the device was investigated in terms of the rate of the relative transmission efficiency, which was found to be equivalent to 1.5%/degree.

  • Bistable chiral splay nematic liquid crystal display (BCSN LCD) is a memory type liquid crystal display using splay and $-\pi$ twist states as two stable states. When the cell thickness to pitch (d/p) ratio is 0.25, splay and $-\pi$ twist states have permanent memory time. However, when the transition from $-\pi$ twist state to splay state is caused by a fringe field, pixel regions show that the splay state is not perfect, but rather includes a contribution from the $-\pi$ twist state. In this paper, we propose a reflective BCSN LCD using $-\pi$ twist state in which the two stable states do not coexist. The fabricated reflective BCSN LC cell shows a high contrast ratio of over 30:1 and response times of 950 ms and 450 ms in vertical and fringe field switching, respectively. The proposed cell also shows wide viewing angle characteristics of $180^{\circ}$ in left- and right directions.

System Identification and Pitch Control of a Planing Hull Ship with a Controllable Stern Intercepter (능동제어가 가능한 선미 인터셉터가 부착된 활주선형 선박의 시스템 식별과 자세 제어에 관한 연구)

  • Planing hull type ships are often equipped with interceptor or trim tab to improve the excessive trim angle which leads to poor resistance and sea keeping performances. The purpose of this study is to design a controller to control the attitude of the ship by controllable stern interceptor and validate the effectiveness of the attitude control by the towing tank test. Embedded controller, servo motor and controllable stern interceptor system were equipped with planing hull type model ship. Prior to designing the control algorithm, a model test was performed to identify the system dynamic model of the planing hull type ship including the stern interceptor. The matrix components of model were optimized by Genetic Algorithm. Using the identified model, PID controller which is a classical controller and sliding mode controller which is a nonlinear robust controller were designed. Gain tuning of the controllers and running simulation was conducted before the towing tank test. Inserting the designed control algorithm into the embedded controller of the model ship, the effectiveness of the active control of the stern interceptor was validated by towing tank test. In still water test with small disturbance, the sliding mode controller showed better performance of canceling the disturbance and the steady-state control performance than the PID controller.

  • 실내의 조명은 자연채광방식과 인공조명으로 나누어지는데 자연형 채광방식에서도 측창채광과 천창채광, 정 측창채광 그리고 반사 채광방식이 있다. 측창채광은 벽면에 대하여 일반적으로 연직인 창에 의한 채광을 말한다. 측창채광의 방향에 따라 실내조도는 영향을 많이 받는다. 따라서 본 연구는 측창채광의 동서남북의 방향에 따라 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울의 계절에 따라 아침, 점심, 저녁시간대에 따라 변화되는 실내조도를 알아보았다. 실험방법은, 조명시뮬레이션 프로그램인 Lightscape V3.2를 사용하여 교실공간의 치수와 작업면의 높이를 가로 5.8[m], 세로 10.8[m], 높이 3[m], 작업면의 높이 0.75[m]로 정하였고, 각 시설물의 반사율[p]은 벽 80%, 창문 12%, 출입문 13%, 바닥 20%, 천장 85%로 지정하였으며 창문의 투과율은 88%로 설정하였다. 본 연구에서 측정하고자 하는 변수 값은 계절은 여름을 6월20일, 겨울은 1월20일 기준으로 하고 시간대는 09시, 13시, 18시로 하였으며 창측방위는 동, 서, 남, 북으로 정하였으며 계절과 시간은 가장 차이가 많이 나는 값을 선택하였다. 결론으로 창이 남쪽일 때 평균조도가 9,100[lx]로 가장 높았고, 시간별로는 점심에 19,590[lx]로 조도가 가장 높은 것을 알 수 있었고 조도 균제도는 창이 동쪽일 때 겨울에 가장 높았다. 창이 북쪽일 때는 여름이 겨울보다 평균조도가 약간 높았고, 시간별로는 아침에 조도가 약간 높은 것을 알 수 있었고 전체적으로 북쪽 창에서 실내조도가 현저하게 떨어지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과로 측창의 브라인드를 현재 사용하고 있는 수직 브라인드 대신에 수평 브라인드를 사용하여 주광의 범위를 넓게 조절하여 사용하게 하고, 점등제어를 현재 측창면과 수직으로 되어있는 배열을 수평으로 한다면 자연채광의 효과를 배가 할 수 있으리라고 사료된다. 미백 전, 미백후, 재광화 후 미세경도 변화 양상이 미백을 하지 않은 대조군과 차이를 보이지 않았으며 (p > 0.05) 미백 전과 미백 후의 미세경도의 차이 미백후와 재광화 후의 미세경도의 차이도 유의할 만한 차이가 없었다 (p > 0.05). 따라서 시중에 판매되고 있는 whitening strip과 미백 젤은 14일 동안의 통상적인 미백과정 동안 법랑질의 미세경도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 사료된다.able pitch와 helical angle보다는 근본적으로 radial land가 screw-in effect의 예방에 더 큰 역할을 하는 것으로 추정될 수 있다 따라서 NiTi file의 사용 경험이 없는 초심자의 경우 근단부 폭경의 유지능력이 좋은 ProFile$^{(R)}$의 사용이 추천된다.)되었다.였으나 강남콩군 외에는 단백질의 소화 흡수율 및 효율은 크게 향상되지 않아 단백질의 소화 흡수율을 떨어뜨리는 요인에 관한 연구가 집중적 으로 이루어져야 하리라고 생각된다.면 바로 위 지점의 풍속을 측정하였다. 각 Seeding 물질에 대해 팬을 켜지 않았을 때, 즉 바람의 영향이 없을 때 측정한 표면유속을 바람의 세기가 변한 경우의 기준 표면유속으로 이용하였다. 본 연구의 결과 비중이 0.01 내외인 Ecofoam과 white polystyrene에 비해 비중이 0.92인 black polypropylene은 대부분이 물속에 잠겨 있어 흐름과 거의 일치하여 움직임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 흐름의 평균유속이 0.165 m/s의 저유속에서 바람이 tracers에 미치는 영향이 평균유속 0.558m/s인 경우보다 커서, 바람의 세기의 증가에 따라 표면유속 측정값이 급속히 감소되었다. 흐름의 평균유속이 큰 경우에는 바람이 tracer에 마치는 영향이 현격히 줄어듬을 보이고 있다. 결론적으로 유속이 증가함에 따라 바람의 영향은 감소하나, 바

  • Modern aircraft fighters improve the maneuverability and performance with the RSS (Relaxed Static Stability) concept and therefore these aircrafts are susceptible to abrupt pitch-up in the transonic and moderate Angle-of-Attack (AoA) flight region where the shock wave is formed and the mean aerodynamic center is moved forward during deceleration. Also, the modeling of the aircraft flying in this flight region is very difficult due to complex flow filed and unpredictable dynamic characteristics and the model-based control design technique does not fully cover this problem. In this paper, we analyzed the performance of the TPMC (Transonic Pitching Moment Compensation) control based on the model-based IDI (Incremental Dynamic Inversion) and the Hybrid IDI based on the model and sensor based IDI during the SDT (Slow Down Turn) in transonic region. As the result, the Hybrid IDI had quicker response and the same maximum g suppression performance and provided the predictable flying qualities compared to the TPMC control.   • In recent years, the need for economical and sustainable ship routing has emerged due to the enforced regulations on environmental issues. Despite the development of weather forecasting technology, maritime accidents by rough waves have continued to occur due to incorrect weather forecasts. In this study, onboard measurements are conducted to observe the acutal situation on merchant ships in operation encountering rough waves. The types of measured data include information related to navigation (Ship's position, speed, bearing, rudder angle) and engine (engine revolutions, power, shaft thrust, fuel consumption), weather conditions (wind, waves), and ship motions (roll, pitch, and yaw). These ship experiments was conducted to 28,000 DWT bulk carrier, 63,000 DWT bulk carrier, 20,000 TEU container ship, and 12,000 TEU container ship. The actual ship experiment of each ship is intended to acquire various types of data and utilize them for multi-objective studies related to ship operation. Additionally, in order to confirm the sea conditions, the directional wave spectrum was reproduced using a wave simulation model. Through data collection from ship experiments and wave simulations, various studies could be proceeding such as the measurement for accurate wave information by marine radar and analysis for cargo collapse accidents. In addition, it is expected to be utilized in various themes from the perspective of safety and efficiency in ship operation.
