In this paper, a motion estimation module is made with ADSP-21020 based on MPEG-2 which is an international standard for moving picture compression. And, the block matching algorithm used as motion estimation method is easy for an hardware implementation. The ADSP-21020 of Analog Device is used for a main control processor. We used three block matching method (exhaustive search method, 2D-logarithmic search method, three step search method) for software simulation and implemented the three step search method to hardware. For the test of the estimation module, we used ping pong image sequences and mobile and calendar image sequences.

Fe-4Ni-0.5Mo-1Cu powder was selected as raw material, pressed and sinter-hardened at $1135\;^{\circ}C$ for 30 min with rapid cooling. The density varies in the range of $7.24-7.29\;g/cm^3$. Its fatigue properties have been tested in axial loading of alternating tensile/compressive stress at R=-1 with a servo-pulse pump. The fatigue endurance limit was measured to be 260 MPa. The microstructure showed more homogeneous bainite and martensite. Fractography displayed the fatigue cracks initiated from the pore areas near the surface. A non-typical ductile fatigue striation was found. More dimples occurred on fracture surface due to the plastic deformation, which can prohibit cracking propagation and improve its fatigue properties.

The primary aim pursued by the preparation of separation membrane is the preparation of the membrane thin as well as with no defect. The field-flow fractionation deposition is a new molding technology which can overcome the traditional disadvantages such as multi-preparation to the preparation of great area of separation membrane with no defect. Therefor the mainly ingredients which influence the appearance and performance of titanium membrane layer are investigated by scanning electricity mirror (SEM) as well as porous material testing instrument: powder performance prepared and confected; selection of supporting body; sintering system such as temperature and time. It is shown that the membrane thickness can be controlled at $50{\mu}m$ or so; the filtration precision mainly rests with powder performance and selection of supporting body and little sintering system

Inclusion complexes of the p-nitrophenol with ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin (CD), sulfated ${\beta}$-CD, and ${\beta}$-CD polymer cross-linked with epichlorohydrine (EP) were prepared and characterized by Raman spectroscopy. The intensity of vibration peaks of the C-O and C-N at 1284 and $856cm^{-1}$ of the p-nitrophenol in the presence of EP-linked CD polymer was remarkably increased, respectively. The vibration modes at 1284 and $856cm^{-1}$ are assigned to the out-of phase C-C-O stretching mode and the C-N stretching mode, respectively. The vibration peaks at 1284 and $856cm^{-1}$ increased with increasing the content of EP-linked CD polymers, while decreased with increasing the p-nitrophenol content. Furthermore, the vibration mode of the $NO_2$ symmetric stretch at $1344cm^{-1}$ enhanced with increasing the content of p-nitrophenol.

The soft handoffs between two adjacent MSC's should be employed to support the calls requesting handoffs to an MSC while minimizing the undesirable ping pong phenomenon of back-and-forth handoffs between two adjacent cells in conventional hard handoffs. In this paper, the soft handoff scheme between two MSC's is considered using the trunk between the packet routers for the two MSC's. The trunk network is proposed to support the inter-MSC soft handoff scheme in the service area with many MSC's. The probability that a soft handoff to an adjacent MSC will be blocked due to the shortage of the trunk capacity is derived.

네트워크 거리 (Network distance : 일반적으로 ping이나 traceroute 등으로 측정 가능한 round trip time 등 네트워크 상에서 패킷 전송 시간) 추정 기법은 인터넷상의 많은 응용프로그램들에서 유용하게 사용된다. 예를 들면 다수의 서버를 인터넷상에 설치하고자 하는 경우 사용자들 간의 네트워크 거리를 알고 있다면 서버와 사용자간의 왕복 전송 시간 (Round Trip Time)등을 최소화할 수 있도록 서버를 분산하여 설치하는 구성을 도출해 낼 수 있을 것이다. Peer to Peer 응용 프로그램들에서도 이 네트워크 거리 정보는 매우 유용하다. 기존에 존재하는 추정 기법들은 대부분 유클리드 공간 좌표 기반 기법들로서 유클리드 좌표 상의 거리가 실제 네트워크 거리와 유사하도록 유클리드 공간 좌표를 지정한다. 그러나 이런 방법들의 문제점은 인터넷 상의 네트워크 거리가 삼각 부등식을 만족하지 않는 경우가 존재하는 등 유클리드 공간의 기본적인 가정을 만족하지 못한다는데 있다. 이런 문제점 때문에 새로운 모델이 필요하고, 이 논문에서는 가상 토폴로지(Virtual Topology) 모델과 지역 조정 항 (Local Adjustment Term) 모델을 제시하고, 기본적인 성능 분석을 시도하였다.

This paper analyses the harmonic pollution to power grids caused by several high-power rectifiers, summarizes the requirements for rectifiers in suppressing grid-side current harmonics and optimizes a new-type of current source PWM rectifier with a hybrid switch. The rectifier with a hybrid switch boasts significant current characteristics and cost advantages in the high-power area. To further enhance the working frequency of the current source rectifier with a hybrid switch for suppressing grid-side harmonics and reducing the inductance size, this paper proposes an optimal control strategy based on space vector. It also verifies that the optimal control strategy based on space vector can reduce the total harmonic distortion of the grid-side current of the rectifier with a hybrid switch via circuit simulation and experimental results.

Based on twelve observational stations low meteorological visibility (LMV) data during November 2002 to April 2003, the spatial distribution of LMV over Hongkong area (113.8$^{\circ}$ E-114.4$^{\circ}$ E, 22.1$^{\circ}$ N-22.4$^{\circ}$ N) is studied, using a PCA method. Optical spectrum of NOAA-16 associated with LMV shows that the significant effect factors correlated with LMV in the leading mode are the difference or rate between the visible and near-IR channels and single visible channel. A successful retrieval of LMV is done and a regression equation with a multiple correlation coefficient of 0.67 is obtained.

Novel fluoroionophore of dibenzothiazolyl-dibenzo-crown ethers were synthesized from diformal-dibenzo 18-crown-6 (24-crown-8) with 2-aminothiophenol, and they were characterizated by $^1H$-NMR, $^{13}C$-NMR, IR spectrum, Mass spectrum, elemental analyses, respectively. The fluorescent properties of the newly synthesized crown ether were examined with $Li^+$, $Na^+$, $K^+$, $Rb^+$, $Cs^+$, $NH_4^+$ and $CF_3COOH$, respectively. With protonation using $CF_3COOH$, the absorption bands of the new crown ethers are further blue shifted, the maximum emission wavelengths further red shifted.

Client-supplier collaboration has been an imperative approach to new product development (NPD), in which a good product specification management system and practice is crucial to the assurance of product quality. This study investigates product specification management in client-supplier collaborative NPD. Based on the interviews and survey study, 12 problems and 13 good practices of product specification management are identified. It also compares the importance and degree of the implementation of the product specification practices in Hong Kong electronics industry. The results suggest that more intensive practices should be implemented for better product specification management.
