B.T.Pin을 이용한 치형부품의 측면 냉간성형공법 개발 (Development of Side Forming Technology for the Tooth Part Using B.T.Pin in Cold Forming Process)

  • In this study, the method of process design for side forming of a tooth part used for a component of automobile transmission was suggested using FE-simulations. To develop the side forming for the tooth part, in this paper, the shape factors of B.T.Pin was considered as design parameters. The shape factors of B.T.Pin were selected to be the round of pin, reinforced angle and reinforced length. Based on FE simulation results, appropriate shape factor without causing any defects was selected. In addition, to increase the strength of pin, the combination of shape factor having minimum stress after side forming was selected using FE-simulation. In addition, with design of a die set, cold side forming of the tooth part was experimented to estimate effectiveness of the designed B.T.Pin. From experiments, it was found that the tooth part with complete formation of the tooth was obtained without making any forming defects and punch fracture.

  • Despite geometrical balanced runner system, filling imbalances between cavity to cavity have always been observed in multi-cavity injection mold. These filling imbalances are results from non-symmetrical shear rate distribution within melt as it flows through the runner system. It has been possible to decrease filling imbalance by optimizing processing conditions, but it has not completely eliminated this phenomenon during the injection molding processing. This paper presents a solution of these filling imbalances by using runner core pin which creates a symmetrical shear distribution within runner and the effects on filling imbalance when modifying a shape of runner core pin. As a result of using runner core pin, a remarkable improvement in reducing filling imbalance was confirmed. In addition we investigated how filling imbalances were affected by shape of runner core pin.

바이오용 마이크로 핀의 제작에 관한 연구 (A study on Manufacturing of Micro Dotting Pin)

  • The bio-micro pin is usually used for biochemistry analysis. The capability of manufacturing the micro-pin and array with effective and low-cost way is very important to developers. The micro-pin is composed of "sample channel" putting liquid into already fixed volume, "flat tip" having connection with printing quantity, and "head part" for preventing it from rotation of pin in the holder. We analyzed out printing variation in accordance with shape and tip size of the micro-pin point channel, In this study, we suggested the manufacturing progress and shape demand condition of the micro-pin which could put $0.2{\mu}{\ell}$-biochemistry material into the sample volume, and will be able to produce the micro-pin which can put $10n{\ell}$-biochemistry material into the sample volume in the future.

  • Hair pin bending machine is pipe forming machine consisting of heat exchanger product system. Hair pin produced by these machine is pathway of refrigerant and play a important role improving the performance and productivity of heat exchanger. The core technology of hair pin bending machine is forming the straight pipe into U-type without any defaults. Therefore, this paper study the relation between the pipe bending forming and the shape and position of mandrel using the elastic-plastic finite element analysis and provide a foundation technology for which developing the hair pin bending machine. The results are followed 1. Mandrel located in front of rotating center of bending die minimized the circular shape variation of copper pipe. 2. Diameter change of mandrel hardly effect the pipe shape.

알루미늄 판재의 전기저항가열 압출점접합공정에 있어서 핀의 높이가 접합강도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Pin Height on Weld Strength in Extru-Rivet Spot Welding of Aluminum Plates)

  • It is difficult to control welding variables during spot welding of non-ferrous metals like aluminum because of the low electrical resistance of the material. It has been suggested that a solid state welding process such as friction stir spot welding or extru-spot welding can be used to spot weld aluminum plates. In the extru-spot welding, there is a need to increase the weld strength by improving the shape of the welding die. The current study shows that the weld strength for an extru-spot welding can be increased by using a pin placed on the inside of the upper electrode in the welding die. In the current study, the deformed shape of the insert rivet and the stress distribution in the welding zone were analyzed by simulation. Extru-rivet spot welding experiments were performed by changing the height of pin on the inside of the upper electrode. From the experimental result, it is shown that the weld strength for an extru-rivet spot welding can be increased by adjusting the height of the pin. The optimal shape of the deformed rivet after the extru-rivet spot welding can be observed from the simulation results. The deformed shape of the insert rivet can also be controlled by the height of pin.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the manufacturing technique on the U type Draw-Bending of inner grooved tube. This bending process make the U shape tube by Hair Pin Bending machine. The U type tube requires the quality of product that satisfy sufficient conditions for a heat exchanger. The mandrel components act the important roles that prevent wrinkles and keep the shape of cross section of bended tube at bending process. We performed the FEM simulation using LS-DYNA software and the bending test of inner groove tube and then, compared bending simulation with bending test results about mandrel ball diameter, mandrel position and optimal clearance between mandrel and tube.

  • 본 연구는 전자기기 모듈의 공기 냉각용 정렬 배열된 핀-휜 열교환기에서 휜 형상의 변화가 유동 및 열전달에 미치는 영향을 수치적으로 해석하였다. 휜 단면의 기하학적 형상은 세 가지로서 원형, 타원형, 그리고 날개형이었다. 취급된 모든 휜의 단면적과 높이는 서로 동일하지만, 그 표면적만은 서로 달랐다. 그 결과, 휜의 표면적, 열전달계수, 그리고 열전달 성능은 휜의 형상에 크게 의존하였다. 적절한 형상을 갖는 휜의 열전달 성능은 세 가지 형태의 핀-휜 중에서 날개형 핀-휜이 가장 우수하였다. 이러한 결과로부터 공기의 유량증가측은 휜의 밀도증가 없이 적절한 핀-휜의 형상변화만으로도 핀-휜 열교환기의 냉각성능을 크게 향상 시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

PIN 다이오드를 이용한 정삼각형 마이크로스트립 안테나의 동작 주파수 변환 (Switchable Frequency of an Equilateral Triangular Microstrip Antenna with PIN Diodes)

  • 본 논문에서는 PIN 다이오드의 on/off특성을 이용해 공진 주파수가 변하는 정삼각형 마이크로스트립 안테나를 제안하였다. PIN 다이오드가 off 상태에서는 T 형태 스퍼라인(Spur-line)의 영향으로 스퍼라인 주위로 전류가 돌아서 흐르기 때문에 안테나의 공진 주파수가 1.22 GHz를 보였으나, PIN 다이오드가 on상태일 때는 T형의 스퍼라인이 I 형태 슬롯라인(Slot-line)으로 바뀌고, 이 I 형태의 슬롯라인에 의해 전류가 영향을 덜 받아서 안테나의 공진 주파수가 1.82 GHz를 나타내었고, 이는 일반적인 정삼각형 마이크로스트져 안테나와 공진 주파수와 차이가 거의 없었다. 제안한 안테나는 PIN다이오드가 on, off상태에서 모두 교차 편파가 -20 dB미만의 방사패턴을 가진 선형 편파 특성을 나타내었다.

  • This study presents a numerical procedure to optimize the shape of stepped circular pin-fins to enhance turbulent heat transfer. The KRG method is used as an optimization technique with Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer with shear stress transport turbulent model. The objective function is defined as a linear combination of heat transfer and friction loss related terms with a weighting factor. Ten training points are obtained by Latin Hypercube Sampling for two design variables. Optimum shape has been successfully obtained with the increased objective function.
