0.5 TPD 급 수소액화 파일럿 플랜트의 콜드박스 열해석 (Thermal Analysis of a Cold Box for a Hydrogen Liquefaction Pilot Plant with 0.5 TPD Capacity)

  • Thermal analysis was performed for a cold box of a hydrogen liquefaction pilot plant with 0.5 ton/day capacity. The pilot plant has adopted a hydrogen liquefaction process using two-stage helium Brayton cycle with precooling of liquid nitrogen. The cold box for hydrogen liquefaction has generally vacuum insulation but inevitable heat invasion by conduction and radiation exists. The heat loads were calculated for cold box internals according to multilayer insulation emissivity. Total heat load of 181.7 W is estimated for emissivity of 0.03 considered in field condition.

  • A pressure compensated chamber of a pilot mining robot isolates and protects an electrical-electronic system from the ambient highly pressured water. Since the inner pressure of the chamber is compensated with outer water pressure using hydraulic oil and pressure compensator, there exists a pressure difference, less than 1 bar, between outer and inner surface. The structural safety of the chamber is obtained relatively easier than the canister type which inner pressure is kept as the atmospheric pressure. However, due to the adoption of box shape for space efficiency and usage of the transparent engineering plastic viewport for checking inner circumstance, the viewport can be largely deformed. This large deformation can cause an additional tensile force, called the prying force, to the bolt-flange connection parts of the viewport. In this paper, we suggest the structural design equation considering the prying action for designing the structure of a box-shape pressure compensated chamber.

  • We applied a DCS which was developed in Korea to test furnace. Test furnace is a pilot-scale plant made for finding combustion in firing coal. In this paper, we describe control system which was implemented in test furnace in detail. Finally, we describe the fire box temperature control loop, and show fire box temperature control result during commissioning stage using implemented control system.

  • KEPCO has a plan to construct TRF (tritium removal facility) in wolsong nuclear power plant site by 2005. In advance of WTRF construction, the pilot plant was installed at KEPRI in order to show process reliability of WTRF. The main processes of this pilot plant are LPCE(liquid phase catalytic exchange) and CD (cryogenic distillation). Deuterium is separated from heavy water in LPCE process and concentrated in CD process. CD process consists of cold box, where are a distillation column and heat exchangers, vacuum system, cryogenic refrigerant supply system and instrument & control system. The experience of the pilot plant will be used in WTRF design review, operating procedure revision and fundamental education for the operators.

해안매립지반에서의 토류가시설 시험시공 및 변경사례 (A Field Case on the Pilot Constructions and Changes of a Braced Cut Wall in a Coastal Filled Land)

  • There are many kinds of braced cut wall methods as the sheet pile, SCW, CIP and slurry wall which is adoptable for a deep excavation construction in a coastal filled land. The braced cut wall which has a strong stiffness is very stable but it has the weak point that the construction cost is high. Thus when a braced cut wall is designed, the geotechnical engineers choose the braced cut wall which has more safe and economic in the consideration of surrounding buildings near the construction site. Especially, when the sheet pile method as a braced cut wall is cheesed, the layer order and consistence of a coastal deposit stratum are considered and the pile driving method is also considered. This paper introduces the case that the originally box-type sheet pile wall was changed to U-type and high strength material after the pilot test at the subway construction site in a coastal filled land. This paper also introduces the case that the sheet pile's driving method was changed to special method in the section of the temporary coffer dam which had made when the present coastal filled land was formed.

  • 강변여과용 수평집수관을 모사하는 파일럿 규모의 모래통 실험을 수행하였으며, 다양한 출구유속에 대한 수평집수관에서의 수두분포를 구하였다. Kim이 수행한 실험실 규모의 수평집수관에서의 손실수두에 Kim이 개발한 이론 즉, 작은 규모의 수평집수관에서의 손실수두로부터 큰 집수관의 손실수두를 계산하는 방법을 적용하여 본 연구의 관측치와 비교함으로써 Kim의 이론이 타당함을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 이들의 이론을 적용하여 본 연구에서의 관측치로부터 실규모 집수관에서의 수두분포를 구하는 방안을 예를 들어 설명함으로써 강변여과의 수평집수관 설계방법을 제시하였다.

  • In Korea, the pilot construction of the first high-speed railroad on the Seoul-Pusan has already started 2 years ago. In the thesis, an attempt is made to develop reliability-based integrity-assessment models for the computer-aided control and maintenance of high-speed railroad bridges. The strength limit state models for PC railroad bridges encompass the bending and shear strengths as well as the strength interaction equations which simultaneously take into the element and system reliablities of the proposed limit states and reliability models. Then, the actual load carrying capacity and the realistic safety of bridges are evaluated using the system reliability-based equivalent strength, and the results are compared with those of the element reliability-based or conventional methods. Various parametric studies are performed for the proposed reliability-based safety and integrity-assessment models using the actual PC box girder bridges used in the pilot construction. And the sensitivity analyses are performed for the basic random variables included in strength limit state models. It is concluded that proposed models may be practically applied for the rational assessment of safety and integrity of high speed railroad bridges.

혼합건설폐기물의 단일 공정 분리·선별 장치 개발 및 성능평가 (Development and Performance Evaluation of Single Process Separating and Sorting Pilot for Mixed Construction Waste)

  • 본 연구에서는 건설폐기물의 실질적인 재활용율을 높이고자 건설폐기물의 발생단계인 해체공사 현장에서 사용할 수 있는 소형의 이동식 분리 선별 장치를 개발하고 이에 대한 선별 효율성능을 평가하였다. 개발한 장치는 상당수의 해체현장이 도심지에 소재한다는 점을 고려하여 협소한 현장여건과 해체현장에서 수행되는 다양한 공정을 고려하여 $15m^2$ 면적 이내에서 1개의 암롤박스를 하루에 처리할 수 있는 16ton의 용량의 이동식 소형 분리 선별 장치를 개발하였다. 개발한 장치의 효율성능을 평가하기 위하여 트롬멜 회전속도 RPM 2~3, 4~6, 7~8에 대하여 10회씩 분리 선별을 실시하였고 그 결과 RPM 6~7에서 가장 높은 약 90%의 효율로 투입폐기물을 성상별로 분리하였다.

Enhanced Production of ${\gamma}$-Aminobutyric Acid Using Rice Bran Extracts by Lactobacillus sakei B2-16

  • An efficient and simple fermentation process was developed for the production of ${\gamma}$-aminobutyric acid (GABA) by Lactobacillus sakei B2-16. When the L. sakei B2-16 was cultivated in the rice bran extracts medium containing 4% sucrose, 1% yeast extract, and 12% monosodium glutamate, the maximum GABA concentration reached 660.0 mM with 100% conversion yield, showing the 2.4- fold higher GABA concentration compared with the modified MRS medium without the rice bran extracts. The GABA production was scaled-up from a laboratory scale (5 l) to a pilot (300 l) and a plant (5,000 l) scale to investigate the application possibility of GABA production to industrial fields. The production yields at the pilot and plant scales were similar to the laboratory scale using rice bran extracts medium, which could be effective for the low-cost production of GABA.

Development of Pilot-Scale Scrubber for Simultaneous Removal of $SO_2/NO$

  • SOx and NOx are known major precursors of acid rain and thus the abatement of their emissions is a major target in air pollution control. To obtain basic data on the removal process of simultaneous $SO_2/NO$, the optimal reaction condition and the composition of reaction solution for simultaneous removal of $SO_2/NO$, ware investigated using a bubble column reactor. Pilot scrubber was consisted of scrubber, filter and control box. Dust removal rate was 83, 92, and 97% with catalyst flux of 0.5, 0.8, 1.5 L/min, respectively Average dust removal efficiency with a kind of nozzle was about 94 and 90% in STS FF6.5 (5/8in.) and 14 of P.P W(1.0in.), respectively Dust and $SO_2$ were removed more than 98-96% regardless of reactor number. In the case of NO gas, removal yield of 83.3% was achieved after 48 hours in 1 stage, also removal yield of 95.7% was reached in 2 stages. In tile case of application of STS (5/8 in.) and P.P (1.0 in.) as used fill packing, removal efficiency was reached higher than 98% without related to of kind of fill packing.
