Recently, we have many kinds of picture format and display, and resizing (scaling) of picture becomes important. In this processing, quality of picture depends on re-sizing method. For this, some methods to improve the PSNR have been proposed. However, subjective picture quality is more important. Especially, degradation caused by re-sizing, such as jaggy (aliasing) and ringing, should be reduced. To solve them, we have proposed the method using directional adaptive interpolation. To improve the performance of this method, we consider the shape analysis this time. In the proposed method, directional adaptive processing is applied for pure edge only. In the texture area and flat area, 8 tap re-sampling filter is used. As the results of processing, the reductions of jaggy and incorrect interpolated pixels are recognized. The subjective picture quality of proposed method is significantly better than 8-tap re-sampling which gives good PSNR.

This paper presents an improved redundant picture coding method that efficiently enhances the error resiliency of H.264. The proposed method applies polyphase downsampling to residual blocks obtained from inter prediction and selectively encodes the rearranged residual blocks in the redundant picture coding process. Moreover, a spatial-temporal sample construction method is developed for the redundant coded picture, which further improves the reconstructed picture quality in error prone environments. Simulations based on JM11.0 were run to verify the proposed method on different test sequences in various error prone environments with average packet loss rates of 3%, 5%, 10%, and 20%. Results of the simulations show that the presented method significantly improves the robustness of H.264 to packet loss by 1.6 dB PSNR on average over the conventional redundant picture coding method.

The purpose of this study was to explore the difference mother-child verbal interaction between wordless and narrative picture book. Forty-two 4-year-old middle class children(21 girls and 21 boys) and their mothers were observed in their home. Major findings were as follows: 1) Mothers' verbal interaction strategies shows difference according to the genre of the book. Mothers used more descriptive statement, descriptive questions, inferential statements, evaluative statements and elaborative feedback when sharing the wordless book than the narrative book. 2) Children differently interact when reading picture books of different genres. Children used more descriptive statements, inferential statements and elaborative feedback. 3) Compared with the narrative picture boot mother and child engaged in more turn-taking when reading the wordless picture book. 4) While the proportion of collaborative type was higher when reading the wordless boot the proportion of passive type was higher when the narrative book.

This paper presents the microscopic observation results from the picture frame test using five-harness satin weave fabric composite. Aligned and misaligned specimens are observed to verify the exact tow deformation pattern such as tow interval and change in tow amplitude. To observe the micro-deformation of the fabric structure, appropriate specimens from picture frame test are sectioned and observed under the microscope. From the observation results, it is found that a picture frame test with a misaligned fibre orientation angle shows large differences in deformation between tensile and compressive tow directions.

이 연구는 중학생을 위한 독서교육의 자료로써 그림책을 선정하기 위한 기준을 제안하고 이를 도서 선정에 적용이 가능한가를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 먼저 선행연구를 통하여 독서자료로써 그림책의 교육적 가치와 학문 분야별 그림책 선정 기준을 확인하였다. 선행연구에서 제시한 다양한 그림책 선정 기준의 공통점을 일러스트와 텍스트, 그 외로 구분해 범주화하여 통합한 후, 중학생을 독자로 선정해 적용할 수 있는 선정 기준을 구안하였다. 통합된 그림책 선정 기준을 내용으로 현직 사서교사에게 중학생을 대상으로 그림책을 선정할 때 고려할 주요한 기준을 묻는 설문조사와 그림책 교육 경험이 있는 전문가를 대상으로 집중 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 그 결과로 글과 관련된 2개의 기준, 그림과 관련된 4개의 기준, 그리고 그 외 5개 기준으로 구성된 중학생을 위한 그림책 선정 기준을 제시하였다. 이 선정 기준의 실제성을 확인하기 위하여 어린이도서연구회 추천 그림책(13세 이상)을 대상으로 범주별 기준의 적용 여부를 확인하였다. 중학생 대상 22권의 그림책 가운데 선정 기준의 모든 범주별 적용이 가능한 도서는 15권으로 유의미한 실제성을 확인할 수 있었다.

어린이그림책에 표현된 일러스트레이션은 하나의 화면뿐만 아니라 화면과 화면의 조화로운 연결로 그림책의 줄거리와 내용을 전달한다. 그림책화면에는 빈 여백과 형태, 질감과 색채, 그리고 공간감 등의 구성요소들이 있어 화면상에 놓여진 위치에 따라 어린이에게 다양한 정서와 감동을 준다. 따라서 어린이그림책에는 자연스러운 이야기 내용과 함께 통일성과 리듬감 있는 구성요소로 화면의 흐름을 전달하는 연속성이 있다. 화면의 연속성은 글과 그림, 화면과 화면, 그리고 화면 내에서 그림의 연결에 따른 시각적 연상으로 이미지전달을 가능하게 하며, 어린이가 이야기 내용을 이해할 수 있도록 한다. 본 연구는 그림책화면의 연속성을 연구 분석함으로써 개성과 창의성을 바탕으로 제작되는 어린이그림책화면의 조화로운 연결에 대한 올바른 표현방향을 제시한다.

LCD를 이용해 화면상에 다양한 이미지를 제공하는 디지털액자는 디지털 카메라 사용의 대중화에 따라 지속적인 매출 증가를 보이고 있다. 디지털액자는 디지털 사진을 볼 수 있는 액정표시장치(LCD)로 된 제품으로써 현재는 디스플레이 시장 및 디지털 액자시장 성장, 디지털 기술 발전과 함께 다양한 포맷의 동영상을 지원하고, 음악을 재생하는가 하면 네트워크 기술까지 탑재한 다기능 디바이스(device)로 탈바꿈되고 있어 사용자를 위한 디지털 액자의 사용목적 및 기능에 따른 디지털 액자 형태의 세분화와 디자인 콘셉트는 더욱 다양화 될 것이다. 본 연구는 기존의 디지털 액자와 차별화 된 스마트픽쳐(Smart Picture)라는 제품 개발 콘셉트(Concept) 연구를 목적으로 한다. 스마트픽쳐(Smart Picture)라 함은 기존 디지털액자에서의 사진 및 동영상 보여주기 기능이외에도 전용화된 아트웍 (Artwork)형태의 전용화된 콘텐츠와 차별화된 형태와 재질을 가진 디지털액자를 뜻한다. 본 연구는 스마트픽쳐(Smart Picture) 개발을 위한 선행연구의 일환으로 제품 개발을 위한 콘셉트 디자인(Concept Design)연구를 목적으로 현재 시판되는 다양한 디지털액자와 관련된 사례분석과 디스플레이(Display)가 활용되는 분야 및 사용 콘텐츠(Contents) 사례 연구 조사, 디스플레이 활용분야, 미디어 작품 사례 조사를 통해 자료를 수집 및 아이디어 방향을 설정하고, 설정된 방향을 바탕으로 스마트픽쳐(Smart Picture)에 반영될 수 있는 아이디어 요소 도출 및 구체화 후에 스마트픽쳐(Smart Picture) 콘셉트 디자인 개념 제안까지를 연구 방향으로 한다.

This study examined the effects of a picture book literature education program in order to assess preschool children's recognition of and attitude towards picture books. The subjects were 56 five-year-old children, 30 of whom allocated to the experimental group and 26 to the control group. The literature education program lasted for 14 weeks. The control group children participated on the national early childhood education curriculum. Children were interviewed about their concepts, preferences, and attitudes towards picture books. The results indicated that compared to control group, children who participated in this program developed enhanced and richer concepts of picture books, displayed specific preferences, and put forward clearer reasons for their preference. ANCOVA result showed significant overall differences between the two groups. Children who participated in the ptrgram displayed more voluntary and active reading and applied the contents of the picture books to their real life situations.

다양한 영화자료의 적극적인 활용과 공유를 위해서 기존의 주요 분류표인 DDC, KDC, LCC의 분류체계를 알아보고, 영화자료의 특성과 함께 기존의 분류체계의 문제점을 파악하고 개선방안을 제시하기 위하여 연구가 수행되었다. 세 체계를 비교한 결과, DDC와 LCC 분류표의 영화관련 항목은 비교적 상세히 전개되어 있었으나 KDC 5판의 영화 관련 항목 수는 매우 미흡하여 영화자료를 포괄하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. KDC 5판에서는 영화자료의 분류가 4개 강 하에 22개의 하위 항목으로 이루어져 있었지만 본 개선안에서는 9개의 강 하에 53개의 하위 항목을 세분하여 전개하였다. 특히 개선안에는 영화인물, 영화장르, 영화제, 각국의 영화 항목을 추가하였다.
