  • This study dealt with effect of the grinding in SCM420H planetary gears. The hardness, tooth profile, lead and roughness of the gear surface can be improved by grinding process. Therein, the grinding techniques are widely used especially as one of the physical surface improvement methods. As the results, the gear grinding process reduced vibration and noise, and increased the life of the gear. And the gear grinding improved the surface of gear tooth in a short time and low cost, thus, it is a very important process in manufacturing industry. But nowadays, it is hard to find the detail information of gear grinding process. The test piece is a planetary gear which is used in the industrial machine. The manufacture process of the test piece contains hobbing, shaving, carburizing and grinding. This study investigated the effect of the grinding process to the physiognomy and the fatigue strength of test piece which was made by SCM420H.

  • This study is to identify culturally the psychological effect of men and women's make-up, to examine men and women's tendency toward make-up and to figure out relationships between their psychological properies and its functions in modern society for the psychological analysis of Inspection(望診). This study has verified that makeup has a positive effect on their interpersonal relationships, psychological reation and self-confidence as well as it meets their fundamental aesthetic needs. The makeup of the psychological action on men and women is different as eroticism, feminism and etc. The social and cultural backgrounds of make-up are the needs of a variety of fashion, trend of public opinion, a cultural difference and etc. And further studies about psychological reason why they wear makeup need to be made. Makeup has an effect on their looks and it has a psychological effect of being able to decorate and move their mind. Finally, it is anticipated that the study for psychological approach to makeup could contribute on the study for positive makeup treatment and basic foundation of Inspection(望診) and physiognomy(觀相) in Oriental medicine.

  • If a salesperson is able to juage consumers' purchasing preferences by looking at their eyebrows shapes, he might be able to set up his sales strategies that will be helpful for the sales. In order to set up this kind of strategy, the difference of purchasing preferences in relation to the eyebrows shapes must be defined clearly. The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of purchasing preferences according to eyebrows shapes. We group eyebrows shapes into five classes in physiognomy, and Analyze the difference of purchasing preferences according to eyebrows shapes. The result shows that compared with people with rising tails of eyebrows, people with declined ones prefer common, simple, gentle and noble clothing image.

  • This chapter presents how 'optical illusion' works in applying makeup and how to differentiate the direction, location and shape at eyebrow lines in the aspect at physiognomy. For this study, employed were five types of face shape produced by Photoshop program - round, square, long, inverted triangle. and diamond. The best-matched facial shape was examined through a questionnaire research after applying the optical illusion of eyebrow lines to the five types of face shape. The results were revealed to be identical to ones presented in make-up teaching materials. In conclusion, it was found that well-matched shape and size of eyebrow could make some changes in the facial impression, changing the face shape into oval shape. The facial line can be modified and supplemented by reshaping such facial parts as the eyebrow, producing well-balanced facial shape. Consequently, make-up was proved to be one of the methods which can be used to create social and psychological effect which can make a favorable facial impression and individuality, natural impression and image making depending on different purposes, taking advantage of optical illusion effect.

According to the physiognomy and life form of plants, the following plant communities are observed and arranged tentatively from the foot to the top. A. North-facing slope. (1) Grass land(0∼600m) (2) Deciduous broad-leaved forest(600∼1200m) (3) Mixed forest(broad and needle leaved forest : 1200∼1300m) (4) Evergreen coniferous forest(1300∼1700m) (5) Scrub communities(1700∼1950m) B. South-facing slope. (1) Grass land(0∼700) (2) Deciduous broad-leaved forest(700∼1300m) (3) Mixed forest(1300∼1550m) (4) Evergreen coniferous forest (1550∼850m) (5) Scrub communities(1850∼1950m) D. West-facing slope. (1) Grass land(0∼650) (2) Deciduous brod-leaved forest(650∼1400m) (3) Mixed forest(1400∼1500m) (4) Evergreen coniferous forest(1500∼1750m) (5) Scrub communities(1750∼1950m) The relation of the geological map and vegetation are as follows: (1) In the region of lava of Mt. Hanla are mainly distribut4ed deciduous broad-leaved forest. (2) In the region of Mt. Hanla are mainly distributed scrub. (3) In the region of lava of Gogun-san are involved deciduous broad-leaved forest, scrub and grass land of Gaimi-Dung.

  • The coast of BiIn Bay, Seocheon, is the potential site for the field-trip learning program. This article is written in the viewpoint of geographical and environmental education. In this study, it is tried to describe geomorphological landscapes of BiIn Bay Seocheon-gun relating with it's physiognomy, based on the Dasa-ri and Songrim-ri coastal sanddunes and the like. Although landforms like tidal flats and rock cliff constitute prominent landscape features in this area, other features such as beaches, coastal dunes, and coastal plains have various ramifications for human communities. Tidal flats, beaches and coastal dunes are formed by the combined actions of longshore current, tidal flows, waves and winds. To some extent, the erosion of sandy coast has been a global phenomenon. Anthropogenic impacts are involved in the transformation of landform. Most favorable field-trip course of BiIn Bay is from Songrim-ri through Dasa-ri and Shinhap-ri to Maryang-ri. This program about coastal landforms in BiIn Bay will contribute not only for educational meanings but also for satisfying the student' curiosity and interest. Also, this field-trip learning program will be suitable for over 4th grade elementary school students and middle school students.

  • Conventional warning criteria for landslides due to rainfall in broad regions have limitations, because they did not have proper reflection of topography, forest physiognomy, and unsaturated soil properties, et al. This study suggested a new stability model for unsaturated slope analyses during rainfall, considering rainfall pattern, geomorphological characteristics (slope angle, soil depth), engineering properties of unsaturated soils, and tree surcharge and root reinforcement. Stability analysis not considering root reinforcement and tree surcharge tends to over-predict a factor of safety in unsaturated slopes. Developed slope stability model was used to build database on the factor of safety in unsaturated slopes during rainfall, and it was integrated with GIS to do quantitative risk analysis in landslide risk areas specified in Ulju. Landslide risk areas were located at downstream of the point with sudden drop in safety factor, as well as at regions with low safety factor during rainfall.
