  • For the purpose of development of red color stain body, bone body which can be fired at 1180$^{\circ}C$ and has a higher degree of whiteness and transmission was developed and a property experiment depending on the content of $Fe_2O_3$ was performed. For manufacturing this body, 9% addition of bone ash to commercialized white body resulted in the best whiteness and proper physical characteristics. In an experiment of oxidized iron addition using this body as a basis, red color stain body fired up to 1150$^{\circ}C$ following the addition of 6% oxidized iron showed physical characteristics such as 5.4R color closer to theory color, 0.08% water absorption rate, 9.1% shrinkage, and 1861 kgf/$cm^2$ bending strength, which implies that this body is suitable for red color stain body.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of sensory stimulation for static balance on normal children. Sensory input was consisted of colors, and music tempo stimulation. Methods : Participants were consisted of 20 normal kindergarten children ranging in age from six to seven years. The static balance was tested by a BPM(Balance Performance Monitor). In this study one-way ANOVA was used and the statistical significance level of results was determined at 0.05. Results : 1. According to color stimulation, there was no significant difference in static balance among red, yellow, green(p>0.05). 2. According to music tempo stimulation, there was no significant difference in static balance, among the high music tempo and low music tempo children in a general environment(p>0.05). 3. However, both green color and low music tempo stimulation have a little effect on static balance on normal children. Conclusion : These results indicate the possibility that the application method of green color and low music tempo stimulation may help in the improvement of static balance for the disabled children. This study will be used as the foundational data of therapeutic environment for the disabled children.

  • [ $TiO_2$ ] contents in yarns can influence color yield so that dyeing quality of industrial polyethylene terephthalate (PET) yarns can be improved through the adjustment of $TiO_2$ contents. To evaluate the dyeing performance of color yield, the chips which included the different $TiO_2$ contents of 330,550, and 1,100 ppm respectively were used to produce the yarns of different $TiO_2$ content by a spin-draft machine. The physical and structural properties of the yarns were measured to investigate effect of the $TiO_2$ contents on them. Dye uptake and dyeing rate were also evaluated using a colorimeter to compare the yarns having different TiOz contents. The experimental results showed that there were no appreciable variation in physical and structural properties among the yarn samples and no difference were observed among the dyed fabric samples with regard to dyeing uptake and dyeing rate. However, the color yield of dyed fabrics increased as $TiO_2$ contents decreased in the yarns especially when the fabric samples were dyed to pale shade. The physical reasoning could be proposed on why the yarns having low $TiO_2$ contents appeared to have higher color yield after dyeing.

  • Due to the prolonged aftermath of COVID-19, the number of modern people suffering from stress and mental illness is increasing. Recently, various methods of color therapy are being studied using LED lighting to improve concentration, relieve stress, manage skin, and improve sleep quality. In this paper, pulse waves are measured and heart rate variability is extracted using a PPG (Photoplethysmogram) sensor to analyze a person's mental and physical state. Using RGBLED and Arduino, we propose a mood lighting system that automatically changes colors according to changes in mental and physical conditions by producing color lighting of various wavelengths, which are mainly used to stabilize the mental state.

  • The tools and techniques for measuring the spectral distribution of light emitted by, transmitted by, or reflected from food surfaces are described for determining the extent to which original natural color is preserved in processing and subsequent storage of foods. Color differences may be evaluated indirectly in terms of some physical characteristic of the sample or extracted fraction thereof that is largely responsible for the color characteristics. For evaluation more directly in terms of what the observer actually seen, color differences are measured by reflectance spectrophotometry and photoelectric colorimetry and expressed as differences in psychophysical indexes such as luminous reflectance and chromaticity. The standard system, against which other systems could be compared, is the one recommended by the International Committee on illumination and which is based on the 'standard observer', which is a simulated standard eye, consisting of three primary color filters Z, with X being essentially amber in color, Y, green and Z, blue. Any spectrophotometric curve of reflectance obtained from the surface of an object can be integrated in terms of X, Y and Z. Psychophysical notation may be converted by standard methods to the colorimetrically more descriptive terms of Munsell hue, value and chroma.

  • We introduce a process for optically reconstructing full-color holographic images recorded by optical scanning holography. A complex RGB-color hologram was recorded and converted into a binary hologram using a direct binary search (DBS) algorithm. The generated binary hologram was then optically reconstructed using a spatial light modulator. The discrepancies between the reconstructed object sizes and colors due to chromatic aberration were corrected by adjusting the reconstruction parameters in the DBS algorithm. To the best of our knowledge, this represents the first optical reconstruction of a full-color hologram recorded by optical scanning holography.

  • Everything of the world we live in has its own unique color. Those colors move us, enrich our every day life, and make us happy. When we have our hairs dyed by a color we like, we may look different, feeling confident and activated. We select a color fur our hair color design depending on such symbolic aspects as our life styles, self-images or personalities. Namely, we tend to choose a color the image of which we like. Such a tendency implies that it should be important to study hair colors in multi-faceted ways. The purpose of this study was to survey people's preferences of hair color tone images depending on their demographic and physical variables and thereby, determine the correlations between their preferences and variables. For this purpose, hair colors tones were classified into 11 categories and thereby, subjects' preferences of hair tones were analyzed in terms of the image adjective combinations. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; As a result of analyzing subjects' preferences of hair color tones depending on their such demographic variables as gender, age group and marital status, it was found that males tended to prefer dark tones more than females, and that those in their 30's or older tended to select dark tones more than those in their 20's. On the other hand, the married preferred medium bright tones more than the singles. Furthermore, such physical variables as body size, weight and apparel size were found correlated with hair color tone preferences. To be specific, shorter people desired more to have their hair colors match with their natural ones not to be less exposed to others. Lastly, as a result of analyzing the correlation between hair color tone preferences and weight and apparel size, it was found that fat people tended more to prefer medium bright color tones than normal or slim people.
