  • The purpose of this study is to examine the physical factors of work environment and to establish the evaluation factors for office design for wheelchair users. This study is based on the existing research for office environmental factors; and then clarifies the physical factors that are suitable for circumstances of wheelchair users. These factors are composed three physical factors which are space, furniture arrangement, and ambient condition and then each of these factors has detailed several elements. Futhermore, comparing physical factors between a non-wheelchair user and a wheelchair user with work environment is analyzed on the assumption using the system furniture on the market. This study is expected to be used as basic information to provide the way of improving office space plan for wheelchair user in workplace. This resource can serve as a checklist when renovating, re-designing or building a new office space for wheelchair users. The evaluation of office environmental factors for wheelchair users who work in public and/or private companies is needed for the next research.

  • This study was conducted to empirically analyze the effect of the physical work environment of SMEs on work satisfaction and work performance. For the research, the physical work environment was subdivided into Focusing on Personal Working space, co-working space, and amenity space to establish a research model. For empirical analysis, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) workers. 250 valid copies were taken for analysis. Hypotheses were tested by multiple regression using SPSS 24. The study results were as follows. Focusing on Personal working space, co-working space, and amenity space all had a significant positive (+) effect on job satisfaction of SME employees. In addition, Focusing on personal working space, co-working space had a significant positive (+) effect on job performance. Amenity space was not tested for a significant influence on job performance. The contribution of this study was to identify the causal relationship between the physical work environment and the employee's job satisfaction and job performance in the absence of studies. In future research, it is ultimately necessary to identify the relationship with the business performance of a company.

Discovert ((1)+(2)) 2. Dream ((3)+(4)) 3. Design((5)+(6)) 4. Destiny((7)+(8))y" It has been understood that many works related to creative jobs make good use of public spaces to progress operational improvement. The place where co-workers share with can create more effective and fulfilling outcome and satisfaction than independent and exclusive places. • Work-related musculoskeletal disorders constitute a major source of employee disability and lost wages. Cumulative Trauma Disorders(CTD) refers to a category of physical conditions which result from chronic musculoskeletal injury. Assessment of CTD risk in industry at early stage allows for early control, a safe environment, and a healthier workforce. In this study, the physical load of the shipping work in the cold storage warehouse were especially investigated. Employees were working with almost unnatural posture in a very restricted work space. The questionnaire and biomechanical analysis were used to evaluate the physical load. Results from analyses showed that they were sufficiently exposed to CTD due to repetition and unnatural posture. Based on the analysis, ways for improving working conditions are proposed. The analysis and proposals in this paper will serve as a basic tool for designing/redesigning working environment such as improvement of tools and equipments, design of times for work/rest cycle.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify and categorize the space use characteristics of the university professor's office. The data were recorded and collected through the physical trace method. Acture Measurement. Photograph, sketch and CAD drawings were used to trace 118 professors offices at Yonse-University. The analysed features were the user characteristics, the size, characteristics of space (such as composition, layout and furniture arrangement), the appliance and the instrument characteristics. To categorize the 'space use' characteristics. 6 variables were used: 1) the territorial characteristics, 2) the spatial relationship between professor's territory and entrance, 3) the layout type of work area, 4) the spatial relationship between professor's and assistant's work area, 5) the arrangement of table, and 6) the completion of sofa set. The results of this study are expected to be used as a basis for the development of design alternatives for the most typical university professors' office.

  • For the company, the office space is the expensive resource next to human resource. Employees are under the influence of physical characters of the office space. Among them lighting is the most effective factor in physical, biological and psychological for employees. Although there are lots of investments in architectural aspect of the office space, there is almost no investment and consideration about the lighting environment. Therefore this study was trying to find out these things as follow. First, evaluate lighting environment of people who works in the office spaces. Second, find out which factors are more affective in evaluation of lighting environment. And then with these findings this study found what should be considered as important in lighting planning of the office space. As the result of this study, however the majority of the employees are satisfied with current lighting conditions, they are not satisfied with individual operation of lighting. And in office space work type and position changes by age can affect in a large degree more than other factors. Therefore when planning lighting of the office space, it is necessary to figure out work features of Individual and group exactly and accept the difference by positions appropriately.

  • Organizational humor is generally perceived as a phenomenon that helps to develop happy feelings and positive workspace. While humor may affect organizational members in diverse ways, the ambiguous nature of humor may create uncertainty and unexpected outcomes. In particular, humor used by and between organizational members in diverse organizational situations (including physical office context and work hours) may influence individual's perception of space. Findings suggest that humor interaction acts as a form of deviant behavior that diverts from work. This momentary non-work event (humor) may serve as a ritual to influence individual's perception of space, from work to personal domain, and vice versa. The quality of interpersonal relationships between the communicators may also be influenced by humor. This shift in the nature of interaction (from work to non-work) may lead to blurring boundaries of work and work experiences. Therefore, organizational humor may provide insights into how workers interact, perceive, and manage work and personal space within organizational contexts.

  • Though the kitchens of traditional residence architecture are recognized as having significant importance to houses themselves, to women who are supposed to do most of the housekeeping work, they are generally thought to be irrational space. This study tries to show through a demonstrative way that the kitchen space of traditional houses is the sensible and rational living space for the health's sake of all family members in the relations among humans, space and environment. Through this study, we were able to see that the architectural work of our ancestors in designing space had different views from those of the West in that our ancestors had sought the outcome taking the interrelations among environment-humans-space seriously in order to shape the physical organization for human beings.
