  • In recent years, the research and development for the photovoltaic(PV) energy system are making rapidly progress around the world and specially this country, too due the deregulation law for the renewable energy system seems to be born sooner or later. In PV generation system, the partially shaded PV array is the one of the worst case which reduces the efficiency of the total PV generation system. The partial shaded condition is the result of shadowing by cloud and dust building of on the surface of the panel. Some structural elements, such as antennas, booms etc. is also the reason of the shadowing. Even if only a small part of PV is shaded, the overall generation power of PV is significantly decreased. Therefore, several researchers who are focusing on the PV generation system take a time for the research related with the shadowing problem of PV array. In this paper, authors have developed the method which users can achieved the modeling of partially shaded PV array with. With several papers authors have already announced the availability of the EMTDC/PSCAD PV panel model component. This research result is the developed version of the previous papers.

  • This paper describes a new inverter active inverter between a photovoltaic(PV) array and single-phase utility that avoid the bulky input(60Hz) transformer on the AC side. The interface employs a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm current-forced single-phase rectifier for injecting the power from the PV array into the mains. The current waveform at the AC side remains sinusoidal and exactly in phase at all time. The circuit also has the advantage of requiring fewer switching device than high-frequency link system. This paper describes modeling of PV array and new system topology. Simulation results on the performance of the connection are also presented.

  • The paper proposes a simulation model of grid-connected photovoltaic generation system (PV system) using on PSCAD/EMTDC, a reliable power system and apparatus transient analysis program. A equivalent circuit model of a solar cell is used for modeling solar array. A series of parameters required for array modeling are deduced from general specification data of a solar module. A PWM voltage source inverter (VSI) model is presented and current control scheme is implemented for VSI control. A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique is applied for controlling the PV system. Simulation case study provides V-I and V-P characteristics of solar array and PV system control performance for irradiation changes.

  • The photovoltaic(PV) generation system have recently become widely used to solve the environmental problems and running out of fossil fuels. However, the study on maintenance is inadequate for PV system. This paper proposes the novel diagnosis method of output power decline to maintain the normal output performance of PV array. The diagnosis method used the proportional relation of irradiation-output current(S-I) of PV array at maximum power point(MPP). And, first order polynomial using the relation is proposed to easily apply PV system. To estimate the relation in case of separation of PV array producer and diagnosis system producer. Kalman Filter algorithm is also proposed at 30.2kW grid-connected PV system. Then, the performance of diagnosis method is evaluated using the hardware tests as well as the simulation.

  • Utility interactive photovoltaic systems is one of the most premising applications of photovoltaic systems. These systems are employed in applications where utility service is already available. In this case, there is no need for battery storage because utility power may be used to supplement photovoltaic systems when the load exceeds available PV generation. The load receives electricity from both the photovoltaic array and the utility inter-tied. In this paper, Principle and operating characteristic of Utility Interconnected Photovoltaic System is presented. For the purpose of optimal utility Inter-tied photovoltaic system design and installation. It is that demonstrate throughout the installed 3 PV system respectively, 3kW utility interconnected residential system.

태양광 발전시스템에서 모듈 설치 각도와 어레이 간격의 비교 연구 (Comparison Researches for Installation of the Module Angles and Array Spacing on Photovoltaic Power System)

  • 본 논문에서는 태양전지를 가지고 일정량의 태양광으로부터 최대 유효전력을 얻기 위해 고정식 태양광 발전시스템과 태양 위치추적기를 부착한 태양광 발전시스템에서 PV모듈의 각도 변화 및 어레이 간격에 따른 최적의 발전효율에 대한 연구 및 실험을 하였다. 먼저, PV 모듈의 다양한 각도를 가지고 실험한 결과 PV 모듈 경사각 30[$^{\circ}$]에서 측정한 결과 값이 경사각 20[$^{\circ}$] 및 40[$^{\circ}$]일 때보다 발전 효율이 $12{\sim}17$[%] 상승되었다. 그러므로 본 논문의 연구 결과에서는 태양광 발전시스템의 실용화 측면에서 PV 모듈의 경사각 30[$^{\circ}$] 설치를 하여 발전을 하는 것이 가장 좋은 변환 효율을 얻을 수 있었다. 하지만 태양전지를 지붕 및 옥상에 설치를 할 경우, 면적 활용이 좁고 겨울에 눈이 쌓이게 될 경우에는 경사각에 의해 빠르게 쓸려 내려갈 수 있도록 경사각을 35[$^{\circ}$]로 선정하는 것이 타당하다.

  • The key of this study is the technical development to maximize electric energy production through PV generation system. Under a conventional MPPT control method, both input voltage and input current coming out from PV array had to be feed backed. Then, the system has complex structure and may fail to track Maximum Power Point of PV array when weather conditions changed urgently. A PV output senseless MPPT control for PV generation system is possible to solve the mentioned above. The best advantage is that the current flowing into load is the only one considerable factor. In case of a huge photovoltaic generation system, it can be operated much more safely than a conventional system. In this paper, a novel PV output senseless MPPT control for the PV generation system was proposed and applied to the manufactured system and the experimental results were shown. Authors are sure that it is the most useful method to maximize power from photovoltaic system with only a feedback of load current.

  • The construct of photovoltaic module array, main power source of photovoltaic system, is very important to the efficiency improvement of whole photovoltaic system. Photovoltaic modules are usually connected in series or parallel to meet power capacity required. Since output characteristics of a photovoltaic module are greatly fluctuated on the variation of insolation, temperature and its type, the maximum open circuit voltage and output operating voltage of photovoltaic module array must exist in the admissible input voltage range of inverter system under any operating conditions. In this paper, we present the selection and array method of photovoltaic modules through simulation for the coupling loss reduction between photovoltaic modules and a inverter.

  • The paper proposes a novel control algorithm for tracking maximum power of PV generation system.. The maximum power of PV array is determinated by a insolation and temperature. Prior considered the term in PV generation system is how maximum power point(MPP) is accurately tracked.. The paper proposes a fuzzy neural network(FNN) control algorithm so as to accurately track those maximum power points. The proposed control algorithm comprises the antecedence part of fuzzy rule and clustering method, multi-layer neural network in the consequent part. FNN has the advantages which are depicted both high performance and robustness in fuzzy control and high adaptive control in neural network.. Specially, it can show the outstanding control performance for parameter variations appling to non-linear character of PV array. In this paper, the tracking speed and the accuracy prove the validity through comparing a proposed algorithm with a conventional one.

  • A modular photovoltaic PCS with high-frequency isolation is proposed. The proposed system consists of a SEPIC converter and a full-bridge inverter Using the power slope versus voltage of the PV array, the MPPT controller is proposed that produces a smooth transition to the maximum power point. The dc current of the PV array is estimated without using a dc current sensor The disturbance of the line voltage is detected using a fast sensing technique. Experimental results obtained on a 500W prototype show high performance such as almost unity power factor, $90\%$ power efficiency, $3.6\%$ THD.
