Zinc oxide micro rods were fabricated using as chemical bath deposition ok photolithography. Vertically aligned Zinc Oxide rod array as grown by chemical bath deposition method on Zinc Oxide template layer. The ZnO template layer was deposited on glass and the pattering was made by standard photolithography technique. The selective growth of ZnO micro rods were achieved with the masked ZnO template layer substrate. The fabricated ZnO micro rods were found to be single crystalline and have grown along hexagonal c-axis direction of (0002) which is same as the preferred growth orientation of ZnO template layer. The ZnO micro-rod array structure was implemented as a window layer in Cu(InGa)Se2 solar cell and its effect on photovoltaic efficiency was examined.

On BIPV systems, especially roof-top PV systems, the power generation is easier to be reduced due to the shades of facilities nearby, or roof itself. To secure profitability of roof-top PV systems, the optimal design of solar arrays through the precise shading analysis is an important item of design considerations. In this paper, an optimization system for array design of roof-top PVs is to be developed using three-dimensional Geospatial Information System(GIS). The profitability of income and expense is considered through the shading analysis of entire roofs. By applying the system to project for validation, the adequacy and the improvement of NPV of the system were verified compared to expert's design. The system has significance by reason that PV modules are placed through rules established with expert knowledge and geometric rules were applied to reflect the constructability and maintainability.
In recent years, the research and development for the photovoltaic(PV) energy system are making rapidly progress around the world and specially this country, too due the deregulation law for the renewable energy system seems to be born sooner or later. In PV generation system, the partially shaded PV array is the one of the worst case which reduces the efficiency of the total PV generation system. The partial shaded condition is the result of shadowing by cloud and dust building of on the surface of the panel. Some structural elements, such as antennas, booms etc. is also the reason of the shadowing. Even if only a small part of PV is shaded, the overall generation power of PV is significantly decreased. Therefore, several researchers who are focusing on the PV generation system take a time for the research related with the shadowing problem of PV array. In this paper, authors have developed the method which users can achieved the modeling of partially shaded PV array with. With several papers authors have already announced the availability of the EMTDC/PSCAD PV panel model component. This research result is the developed version of the previous papers.
Semiconductor nanowires offer exciting possibilities as components of solar cells and have already found applications as active elements in organic, dye-sensitized, quantum-dot sensitized, liquid-junction, and inorganic solid-state devices. Among many semiconductors, silicon is by far the dominant material used for worldwide photovoltaic energy conversion and solar cell manufacture. For silicon wire to be used for solar device, well aligned wire arrays need to be fabricated vertically or horizontally. Macroscopic silicon wire arrays suitable for photovoltaic applications have been commonly grown by the vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) process using metal catalysts such as Au, Ni, Pt, Cu. In the case, the impurity issues inside wire originated from metal catalyst are inevitable, leading to lowering the efficiency of solar cell. To escape from the problem, the wires of purity of wafer are the best for high efficiency of photovoltaic device. The fabrication of wire arrays by the electrochemical etching of silicon wafer with photolithography can solve the contamination of metal catalyst. In this presentation, we introduce silicon wire arrays by electrochemical etching method and then fabrication methods of radial p-n junction wire array solar cell and the various merits compared with conventional silicon solar cells.
In this paper a novel tracking system is described, regarding the influence of shadow between array, aimed at improving the efficiency of PV tracking system. Comparing with a building site versus capacity power, domestic solar powers have a limited siting. Therefore, each array interferes with the shadow of other arrays. The loss by influence of those shadow can be compensated for by means of control algorithm of the tracking device. The paper suggests a method controlling an altitude for length which is received the shadow influence of PV array. By using an azimuth of current solar position and the length between arrays, the controller of tracking device is able to calculate the length between actual arrays and make a comparison of the shadow length at a specific time with the length between arrays. When the shadow length is longer than the length between arrays, the controller of tracking device can adjust a position by compensating error altitude of the length between arrays at an altitude of current solar position. In the paper, we develop the control algorithm able to minimize the loss caused by the influence of shadow on the PV tracking system, and compared this with conventional output system. The controller has been tested in the laboratory with proposed algorithm and shows excellent performance
The economic growth and highly industrialized society have increased the demand for electricity power. As a result, concerns were focused on the energy resource scarcity and global warming. That is why the photovoltaic generation system to address these concerns has been in the spotlight recently. In this thesis, a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system was operated experimentally for the purpose of promoting the spread of the photovoltaic generation system in the future. Also, the effect of the type of array structure has on the performance of the photovoltaic generation system was evaluated quantitatively and by analyzing the comprehensive operating characteristics, the following results were obtained. In the demo system operated for a year, the average irradiation was measured to be 455,076 $[W/m^2]$ and the maximum irradiation to be 626,622 $[W/m^2]$ in May, up 171,546 $[W/m^2]$ or 38[%] compared with the average irradiation. The minimum irradiation was observed to be 294,022$[W/m^2]$ in December, down 161,054 $[W/m^2]$ or 35[%] compared with the average irradiation. The generation power in situation where there is plenty of irradiation was more than the average one, and the generation power in the fixed system amounted to 32[%], the single-axis tracker to 37[%], and the dual-axis tracker to 39[%]. The generation power in situation where there is little irradiation was less than the average one, and the generation power in the dual-axis tracker amounted to 41[%], the single-axis tracker to 40[%], and the fixed system to 36[%].

This paper provides the design techniques of a successive approximation register (SAR) type 12b analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) control in a photovoltaic system. Both a top-plate sampling technique and a $V_{CM}$-based switching technique are applied to the 12b capacitor digital-to-analog converter (CDAC). With these techniques, we can implement a 12b SAR ADC with a 10b capacitor array digital-to-analog converter (DAC). To enhance the accuracy of the ADC, a single-to-differential converted DAC is exploited with the dual sampling technique during top-plate sampling. Simulation results show that the proposed ADC can achieve a signal-to-noise plus distortion ratio (SNDR) of 70.8dB, a spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) of 83.3dB and an effective number of bits (ENOB) of 11.5b with bipolar CMOS LDMOD (BCDMOS) $0.35{\mu}m$ technology. Total power consumption is 115uW under a supply voltage of 3.3V at a sampling frequency of 1.25MHz. And the figure of merit (FoM) is 32.68fJ/conversion-step.
