  • RVDT is a transducer that presents rotary phase angle according to the displacement of eccentric rotor such as press machine. However a study on the phase error of RVDT that affects precision is not enough. This paper analyzes RVDT phase error and obtains compensation curves with serial or parallel resistance through simulation. First, error compensation procedure that analyses errors due to the unbalance of reference inductances of each pole and uses parallel resistance as a compensation is proposed. Second, error compensation procedure due to the amplitude unbalance of the sensor driving currents is examined by serial compensation resistance. Experimentally, we got stable RVDT with phase error under $1^{\circ}$ by the proposed method.

  • In the present paper we have investigated the Stoneley wave propagation at the interface of two dissimilar homogeneous nonlocal magneto-thermoelastic media under the effect of hall current applied to multi-dual-phase lag heat transfer. The secular equations of Stoneley waves have been derived by using appropriate boundary conditions. The wave characteristics such as attenuation coefficients, temperature distribution and phase velocity are computed and have been depicted graphically. Effect of nonlocal parameter and hall effect are studied on the attenuation coefficient, phase velocity, temperature distribution change, stress component and displacement component. Also, some particular cases have been discussed from the present study.

  • This paper's objective is to investigate the effect of gravity on a micropolar thermoelastic medium with voids. The problem is assessed according to the three-phase-lag model. An analysis of the resulting non-dimensional displacement, temperature variation, and internal stress of the study material is carried out and presented graphically. The non-dimensional displacement, temperature, micro-rotation, the change in the volume fraction field and stress of the material are obtained and illustrated graphically. Comparisons are made with the results predicted by different theories for different values of gravity, the phase-lag of the heat flux and the phase-lag of the temperature gradient. The numerical results reveal that gravity and relaxation times have a significant influence on the distribution of the field quantities. Some notable insights of interest are deduced from the investigation.

  • This study measured the relative displacements of the five-unit fixed partial dentures as cast with the same fixed partial dentures sectioned and assembled by investment-soldering, solder-ing stand-soldering, and cast-joining techniques A total of fifteen specimens using a type IV gold alloy were one-piece cast as control and then sectioned and assembled five test specimens for each method were prepared. A computerized three dimensional coordinate measuring machine and specially designed cylinder for this study were used. Displacement was defined by six displacement variables for the each of cylinders incorporated in each casting: three component displacements(${\Delta}Lx,\;{\Delta}Ly,\;and\;{\Delta}Lz$) and rotational displacements(${\Delta}{\theta}x,\;{\Delta}{\theta}y,\;{\Delta}{\theta}z$). The global displacement was computed using the mathematical formula ${\Delta}R$ = Global displacement =$\sqrt{{(x'-x)}^2+{(y'-y)}^2+{(z'-z)}^2}$ Under the conditions of this study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. The investment-soldering group showed the largest mean value of final global displacements, followed by stand-soldering group, cast-joining group and one-piece cast group. However, between the mean values of final global displacement for the cast-joining group and one-piece cast group, there was no significant difference. 2. For investment-soldering and stand-soldering groups, the greater global displacements were recorded in soldering phase than in indexing or investing phase. 3. For one-piece cast group, the displacements occured mostly in the casting phase. And for cast-joining group, there was no significant difference in global displacements among the fabricating procedures. 4. Intercentroidal distance decreased in framework-patterning, solder-indexing, solder-standing, and soldering phases, but increased in investment block-investing and casting phases. 5 Specially designed cylinder for touch-trigger type coordinate measuring machine was validated.

  • As the technology has developed and new materials have been produced, it is important to measure the thermal diffusivity of material and to predict the heat transfer in the solid subject to thermal processes. This measurement can be done in a non-contact way using photothermal displacenent spectroscopy. In this study, photothermal displacement method was used to measure the thermal diffusivity quantitatively. The specimens used in this study were the pure materials. The Ar-ion laser was used as an energy source and the periodical deformation induced by this pump laser was detected by the He-Ne laser. The magnitude and the phase angle of deformation gradient were measured. The thermal diffusivity was obtained by analyzing the phase angle of deformation gradient. As the result, comparing with the literature value, the thermal diffusivities of materials measured were showed about 2% error.

  • A new method of measuring the thermal diffusivity of solid material at room temperature using photothermal displacement is proposed. The influence of the parameters, such as radius and modulation frequency of the pump beam and the sample thickness, was studied. From the minimum position of phase of measured deflection with respect to the pump beam, the thermal diffusivity of the materials can be obtained. The position where phase has the minimum value is determined using multiparameter least-square regression fitting. The experimental values for different samples obtained by applying the new method are in good agreement with the literature values.

  • The kinematic characteristics of cutting device significantly affects cutting performance in 2-dimensional elliptical vibration cutting(EVC) where the cutting tool cuts workpiece, traversing a micro-scale elliptical trajectory in a trochoidal motion. In this study, kinematical characteristics of EVC device constructed with two parallel stacked piezoelectric actuators were analytically modeled and compared with the experimental results. The EVC device was subjected to step and low-frequency(0.1 Hz) sinusoidal inputs to reveal only its kinematical displacement characteristics. Hysteresis in the motion of the device was observed in the thrust direction and distinctive skew of the major axis of the elliptical trajectory of the cutting tool was also noticed. Discrepancy in the voltage-to-displacement characteristics of the piezoelectric actuators was found to largely contribute to the skew of the major axis of the elliptical trajectory of the cutting tool. Analytical kinematical model predicted the cutting direction displacement within 10 % error in magnitude with no phase error, but in estimating the thrust direction displacement, it showed a $27^{\circ}$ of phase-lag compared with the measured displacement with no magnitude error.

  • To observe the Langmuir films, displacement current measuring system(Nippon Laser & Electronics), $\pi-A$ isotherms measuring device, and Brewster Angle Microscope(BAM) were used. As results, for 8A5H, big tilt angle changes of many molecules were detected before liquid expanded phase when the monolayer was compressed and expanded by barrier. Also many small and bright points were detected by BAM when the displacement current radically changed. In $\pi$-A isotherms, surface pressure of 8A5H was radically decreased between 35 and 40[mN/m] and monolayer was assumed to be collapsed in solid condensed phase, since large bright domain was observed without change of displacement current and this bright boundary was not classified part of domain in BAM image. If we observe behaviors of molecules on the water surface in these three measurement at the same time, we can get more precise informations on L films and it could be good data for fabricating LB films.

  • The purpose of this study was to kinematics factors on during round-off at end of beam-salto backward stretched with step-out to cross on balance beam. Four elite female gymnastics players participated as subject of this study. The methods of this study was analyzed using three dimentional analysis. The results and conclusion of this paper is obtained as follows ; 1. The phase of time was the most short time in board touch down phase and board take-off phase. Also, it was shown a more long time in total time compared to previous study. 2. The horizontal displacement of each phase was shown the most high levels in balance beam landing. The vertical displacement was display a non-linearity increase in board take-of phase, and it was shown the most high levels in vertical displacement during landing of balance beam. 3. The horizontal velocity of each phase was shown the most high levels in board touch down, and it was display a gradually decreased levels because flight during board take-of. The resultant velocity of CG on each phase was shown the most high levels in board touch down and board take-off. 4. The angle of hip joint was shown the most high levels as performed a motion in extension state during board take-off, and the angle of knee joint was display a increased levels because of flight cause body extension in board take-off. Also the angle of ankle joint was shown a increasing levels during board take-off. Considering to this results, it is suggest that the change of kinematics factors in board touch down and board take-off is key role on the effective board control.
