  • This paper presents a method of independent pulse repetition frequency(PRF) generation and control for frequency phase calibration on mono-pulse radar at a remote location. In order to generate an independent PRF signal of 320[Hz], pulse width modulation(PWM) of 16-bit timer/counter was applied. For a precision control of PRF signal, 16-bit timer/counter interrupt was changed for each period. Therefore, average frequency of PRF could be controlled by 0.0001[Hz]. To calibrate a frequency phase of mono-pulse radar at a remote location, the proposed PRF generator with a precision control of frequency was used regardless of receiving PRF signal from a radar. For the verification of the proposed PRF generator, theoretical analysis and experimental results are included.

  • A Pre-emphasis transmitter for DRAM bus system has achieved 3.2Gbps/pin operation at 1.8V supply voltage with 0.18um CMOS process. The transmitter has 800MHz PLL to generate 4 phase clocks. The 4 phase clocks are used for input clock of PRBS and multiplexing. One tap pre-emphasis is used to reduce inter symbol interference (ISI) caused by channel low pass effects. The analog calibration makes the optimized driver impedance independent with the PVT variation.

  • 본 논문에서는 온도 제어가 가능한 blackbody를 이용하여 수동형 FTIR 분광계의 radiometric calibration을 수행하고 타당성을 살펴보았다. Radiometric calibration은 분광계로 입사되는 radiance의 온도 변화에 대한 광 검출기의 파장 별 응답특성과 기기 내부에서 발생되는 온도 및 반사율에 의해 발생되는 측정 오차를 보정하여 Planck radiance로 변환하는 기법이다. 시료에 대한 calibration 과정을 수행한 스펙트럼을 spectral library와 비교한 결과, 흡수 스펙트럼의 파장 별 선폭과 상대적인 intensity가 매우 유사하게 나타났으며 입사 광원의 온도차와 비례하여 spectral intensity가 일정하게 증가됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 기하학적 오차와 전기적 오차는 배열센서 시스템의 성능을 심각하게 저하할 수 있다. 이러한 문제를 완화시키기 위해 다양한 보정 기술이 개발되었다. 본 논문에서는 배열센서의 위치오차, 이득오차, 위상오차를 보상하는 두 가지 기술을 비교하였다. 그 중 하나의 방법은 1차 테일러급수 전개를 통해 배열센서의 명목상 값으로부터 실제 조향 벡터를 예측한 후 MUSIC 알고리즘의 null 특성을 이용하여 형성되는 몇 가지 식을 이용하여 센서의 실제 위치, 이득, 위상을 추정한다. 또 다른 하나의 방법은 기준신호원의 공분산 행렬을 이용하여 이러한 오차들을 예측한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 두 가지 보정기술 모두 성공적으로 오차를 보정하였고, 10dB~50dB SNR 범위에서 Fistas and Manikas의 알고리즘이 Ng and Lie의 알고리즘 보다 노이즈에 더 강건하다는 것을 증명하였다.

A Highly Expandable Forwarded-Clock Receiver with Ultra-Slim Data Lane using Skew Calibration by Multi-Phase Edge Monitoring

  • A source-synchronous receiver based on a delay-locked loop is presented. It employs a shared global calibration control between channels, yet achieves channel expandability for high aggregate I/O bandwidth. The global calibration control accomplishes skew calibration, equalizer adaptation, and phase lock of all the channels in a calibration period, resulting in the reduced hardware overhead and area of each data lane. In addition, the weight-adjusted dual-interpolating delay cell, which is used in the multiphase DLL, guarantees sufficient phase linearity without using dummy delay cells, while offering a high-frequency operation. The proposed receiver is designed in the 90-nm CMOS technology, and achieves error-free eye openings of more than 0.5 UI across 9-28 inch Nelco4000-6 microstrips at 4-7 Gb/s and more than 0.42 UI at data rates of up to 9 Gb/s. The data lane occupies only $0.152mm^2$ and consumes 69.8 mW, while the rest of the receiver occupies $0.297mm^2$ and consumes 56.0 mW at the 7- Gb/s data-rate and supply voltage of 1.35 V.

  • We describe a calibration method to improve the accuracy of interferometric snapshot spectroscopic ellipsometry employing a dual-spectrometer sensor scheme. Conventional spectral wavelength calibration of a spectrometer has been performed by using a calibration lamp having multiple peaks at specific wavelength. This paper shows that such a conventional spectrometer calibration method is inappropriate for the proposed interferometric snapshot spectroscopic ellipsometry to obtain highly accurate ellipsometric phase information. And also, systematic error analysis of interferometric snapshot spectroscopic ellipsometry is conducted experimentally.

  • An active phased array antenna consists of many channels. Each channel has a different initial phase shift and gain because of the inequality in the active circuits themselves, interface between radiators and active circuits, and beam-forming circuits and other antenna system configurations. This raises an inherent problem in active phased array antennas. To compensate for this problem the initial phase and gain of each channel should be calibrated. This paper presents an efficient calibration method for an initial phase variation of each channel in active phased array antennas. We tested our method in an active phased array antenna, and obtained good results in the radiation pattern and beam direction of antenna.

Determination of Fluorescent Whitening Agents in Paper Materials by Ion-Pair Reversed-Phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography

  • A simple method was developed for the analysis of seven stilbene-type fluorescent whitening agents (FWAs) in paper materials by ion-pair reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. These stilbene-type FWAs included two disulfonate, two tetrasulfonate, and three hexasulfonate compounds. After optimization of chromatographic conditions, the FWAs were satisfactorily separated using a reversed-phase column (RP-18) with the following isocratic mobile phase: methanol-water (60:40) containing 17.5 mM TBABr and 10 mM citrate buffer (pH = 7.0). The calibration plot was linear in the range from 5 to 500 ng/mL for two disulfo-FWAs and from 1 to 500 ng/mL for the other five FWAs. Precision levels of the calibration curve as indicated by RSD of response factors were 1.2 and 8.1%. Limits of quantitation (LOQ) ranged from 1.2 to 11 ng/mL.

멀티베이스라인 인터페로미터 시스템에서의 자체 교정 방향 탐지 방법 (Self-Calibration for Direction Finding in Multi-Baseline Interferometer System)

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티베이스라인 인터페로미터 방향 탐지 시스템에서 진폭 및 위상 부정합 오차를 보정할 수 있는 공분산행렬 기반 자체 교정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 비용함수를 정의한 후 제한 조건을 갖는 비선형 최소화 방법으로서, 공간 섹터를 이용하여 부정합 오차를 획기적으로 교정하는 알고리즘이다. 다만 공간 섹터를 선정하기 위하여 초기 추정각을 요구하는 단점이 있으나, 이는 일반적인 비선형 최소화 문제의 공통적인 단점이다. 적절한 공간 섹터 간격을 선정하여 시뮬레이션한 결과, 제안된 방법이 기존 인터페로미터 방식보다 표본바이어스, 표본표준편차, 평균제곱오차면에서 획기적으로 우수한 통계적 성능을 보여주었다. 더구나 섹터 간격이 도래각과 $5^{\circ}$ 이내일 경우에, 30 dB의 진폭 부정합 및 $50^{\circ}$ 이상 큰 값의 위상 부정합이 발생하는 경우에도 획기적인 보정 능력을 보여주었으며, 신호대 잡음비에도 덜 민감한 특징을 나타내었다.

Precise Test Sieves Calibration Method Based on Off-axis Digital Holography

  • We describe, throughout a Mach-Zehnder interferometric configuration, a new test sieves calibration method based on off-axis digital holography. The experiment is conducted on a test sieve of square openings. The nominal sieve opening is 1.00 mm with maximum individual opening of 1.14 mm in size. The recorded off-axis hologram is numerically processed using Fresnel transforms to obtain an object wave (amplitude and phase). From the reconstructed phase, the average size of the illuminated openings has been measured precisely. The proposed method can provide a real time solution for calibrating test sieves very precisely and with moderate accuracy.
