  • To determine the effects of endogenous and exogenous strogen on serum lipid levels, twenty nonsmoking healthy Korean women were participated in this experiment for 12 weeks. They were assigned to three groups : (1) eight women aged 22 to 30(yr) for the premenopausal(Pre) group, (2) eight, aged 49 to 60(yr) for the postmenoparusal(Pst) group, (3) four, aged 23 to 30(yr) for the oral contraceptive(OC) group which used triphasic OC formulation. Fasting blood samples representing every phase of the hormonal levels were obtained from the subjects of the Pre and the OC group. From the subjects of the Pst group, fasting blood samples were obtained once per three weeks for 12 weeks. All the serum data were adjusted for dietary effects, exercise, personality type and body mass index(BMI) by using analysis of covariation(ANCOVA). Serum lipid levels of the three groups were significantly different. While serum levels of triglycerides(TG)(p<0.0001), low density lipoprotein-chloesterol(LDL-C)/high density liporotein-cholesterol(HDL-C) ratio (LDC-C/HDL-C)(P<0.01) and total cholesterol (TC)/HDL-C ratio (TC/HDL-C)(P<0.001) were significatnly high in the Pst group, serum HDL-C(P0.001) level was significantly high in the Pre group. The OC group showed significantly low serum TC(P<0.0001) and LDL-C(P<0.0001) levels. There was no signidicant difference in the fluictuation of serum lipid levels during the menstrual cycle of the Pre group. However, in the OC group, serum TG level was significantly increased at phase 2(P<0.05) where exogenous estrogen administration was highest. Even though other serum lipid levels of the OC group were not significantly fluctuated according to the exogenous estrogen administration, there was a trend of increased levels of serum TC, LDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C and TC/HDL-C and decreased level of HDL-C during the menstruation period. Also, serum TC level was high(P<0.005) and serum TG level was low (P<0.005) at the baseline of the OC group compared with the periods of OC administration. When screening and counseling the female population at risk for coronary heart disease(CHD), the result of this study suggest that in may be desirable to divide the population into several groups according to their personal physiological characteristics, such as age, OC administration, menstrual cycle and menopause, as well as general risk factors for CHD.

On the other hand, youth dividend opposed to target efficiency is low, and that the problem is often to the contents of the salary. Because both sides are too contrast, consensus is difficult, can be political point of view is a significant impact. The basic income is a new thought experiment for human self-realization. Therefore, the production social welfare policy personality is a different policy science. That is, it is a long-term care social policy that requires a holistic life support. • Objectives: This study investigated the psychological characteristics of patients with functional dyspepsia. Methods: The subjects included ninety patients with functional dyspepsia and sixty four psychiatric out-patients. We administered Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory(MMPI) and Illness Behavior Questionnaire(IBQ). Results: There were no significant differences between the patients with functional dyspepsia and the psychiatric out-patients by MMPI. Two groups both showed a higher distribution in hypochondriasis, depression, hysteria subscales than in any other subscales. The patients with functional dyspepsia showed lower scores in disease conviction and affective disturbance subscales in IBQ than the psychiatric out-patients. The distribution of scores of the other IBQ subscales were similar between the patients with functional dyspepsia and the psychiatric out-patients. The patients with functional dyspepsia were divided into three groups for the Multivariate cluster analysis: normal, similar to psychiatric out-patient, and severe neurotic. The severe neurotic group showed higher scores in hypochondriasis, depression, hysteria, psychathenia, and schizophrenia subscales in MMPI and showed significant different scores in affective disturbance, disease conviction, psychological and somatic concerns, affective disturbance, denial, and irritability subscales in IBQ. Conclusion: If patients with functional dyspepsia show severe neurotic behavior, such as those in, they would need appropriate psychiatric intervention.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify significant differences in dietary guidelines, emotional intelligence, resilience and violence according to the frequency of family meals for middle school students in Daegu. To achieve the purpose of this study, 241 data collected through self-administered questionnaires were analyzed. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS (v25.0) program for frequency, percentage, standard deviation, reliability, one-way ANOVA and Duncan comparison. The results of this study were as follows. There was a significant difference in the level of the dietary guidelines practice, emotional intelligence and resilience according to the frequency of family meals of middle school students. Implications and suggestions based on the results of this study were as follows. First, family meal frequency is significantly related to middle school students' dietary guidelines practice, emotional intelligence, and resilience (p<0.05). Accordingly, personal efforts and social and institutional arrangements are required to increase the family meal frequency. Second, some of the core competences required in the 2015 revised curriculum were consistent with sub-areas of emotional intelligence and resilience, which can be predicted by the results that family meal experience of middle school students is also related to the development of core competences. In conclusion, increasing family meal frequency is important considering the trend of education, and is required for personality education.

  • The aim of this study was to find out the possibilities of humanistic education through text analysis of the picture books of Korean fairy tales dealing with poverty and to discuss the educational implications. For this, the two researchers drew the literal roles of poverty and property in the common narrative structure of seven subject books and discussed the humanistic educational implications. The results are as follows. Firstly, the poverty of a main character was related to good personalities rather than negative personalities such as indolent disposition and formed affirmative values. Secondly, divine existence or animal helpers offered property to the good man in a unrealistic manner so that it emphasized the meaning of reward on their good nature. Thirdly, the bad character of wicked men following the good men was focussed on and their greed for property was the evidence of their wickedness. Most of them were punished because of the wicked motive so that it apparently highlighted the lesson of the good triumphing over the evil by the binary opposition structure. Fourthly, all the fairy tales made the characters treated based on the each personality: punishment or reward. However, the reward was usually property so that the property itself was depicted as a kind of blessings. Based on those findings, some humanistic educational implications were discussed.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of appearance stress, alcohol intake, and eating attitude on self-esteem of female undergraduate students. Participants were 150 female undergraduate students who responded to a survey conducted from March to July of 2017. Data collected were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression analysis using an IBM SPSS 23.0. The influencing factors of self-esteem were satisfaction with college life and appearance stress, and the power of the variables was 11%. The results verified that college life and appearance stress were important factors influencing self-esteem, a critical element in the personality dimension that assesses self-affirmation. Therefore, self-esteem should be improved by providing a buffer to revitalize character resources for positive self-internalization, the formation of a healthy self-image and affect regulation which can enable one to flexibly cope with situations of appearance stress. Also, external resources should be provided inside and outside of school to help university students become cognizant of an objective perspective of the various environments of college life they face, as well as to have a positive view of themselves in college life by regulating the differences between the environments they face and their individual circumstances.

  • This study adopts the phenomenological approach in order to explore the experience of urinary felt by the small island women and to find the meaning and structure of their experience, for the further understanding of them. This study succeeded in detecting five topics and three basic structure from eight participants, and followings are the comprehensive statement of them. The five topics include neglect of care after childbirth, unavoidable life in the tidal flat, shame which cannot be expressed even to their husbands, endless anxiety toward the expected future, and sad(dilemmatic) lived experience. The basic structure is that small island women who have urinary incontinence are apt to regard their disease as a natural destiny of women who fail to get adequate care after childbirth, and something to be endured to live in the seashore. They think of urinary incontinence as something so shameful that they cannot reveal it even to their husband and family. They believe that it even changes their personality since they must always stay alert in order to cope with the situation; for example, when it takes place unexpectedly, like too often to go to toilet, to change the underwears, to wake up in the middle of the night to go to toilet, to try not to laugh loudly, or to have showers. In addition, they accept it as a natural process of aging and incurable disease, and they consider themselves already ruined on the way of becoming uglier. They show dilemmatic abandonment: give it up unwillingly but at the same time think it is natural for others too. The unique experience of small island women with urinary incontinence implied in those statement are inseparable with the specific conditions for survival in the island. Unlike other diseases, it is considered the result of traditionally poor care after childbirth. However this misunderstanding that it is a natural phenomena for all the women who experience childbirth and aging and thereby incurable leads to an undesirable attitude toward urinary incontinence. According to the analysis, environmental conditions specific for small islands make the women there have distinct and unique experience concerned with urinary incontinence. Consequently, the future nursing plan for urinary incontinence in the small island area must be made and enforced with the consideration of these specific phenomenological meanings. Modern Korean nursing has basically been centered to hospital or urban areas. Besides, nursing intervention has long depended upon the research of western countries. This research, however, shows how greatly the regional and cultural characteristics influence the understanding of a certain disease, and is expected to make more specific and in-depth nursing approach enable for those who have urinary incontinence in small islands.
