Purpose -This paper aims to understand how easy and convenient it is for consumers to use mobile services. A mobile service combines hardware and software with information technology. To specifically meet the needs of users of mobile applications, the context of usability was identified in consumer mobile services. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - For usability measurement and evaluation, appliances and software were the main target: this applied to an expanding range, such as a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), mobile phones, and wired and wireless integrated services. This study extended the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by examining the roles of two characteristics of mobile applications'usage: usability and usefulness. Results - The study tested the research model using a structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. Results showed no significant differences between the two models. Usability comprised learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction: the motivation for using a mobile application was understood as being the usefulness and easy-of-use of the mobile application. This empirical study validated the proposed research model and hypotheses, and found that the hypotheses could be supported. Finally, the phenomena derived from the causal relationships in usability were identified, and their implications considered.

In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving emergency call scheme, called PEC, enabling patients in life-threatening emergencies to fast and accurately transmit emergency data to the nearby helpers via mobile healthcare social networks (MHSNs). Once an emergency happens, the personal digital assistant (PDA) of the patient runs the PEC to collect the emergency data including emergency location, patient health record, as well as patient physiological condition. The PEC then generates an emergency call with the emergency data inside and epidemically disseminates it to every user in the patient's neighborhood. If a physician happens to be nearby, the PEC ensures the time used to notify the physician of the emergency is the shortest. We show via theoretical analysis that the PEC is able to provide fine-grained access control on the emergency data, where the access policy is set by patients themselves. Moreover, the PEC can withstandmultiple types of attacks, such as identity theft attack, forgery attack, and collusion attack. We also devise an effective revocation mechanism to make the revocable PEC (rPEC) resistant to inside attacks. In addition, we demonstrate via simulation that the PEC can significantly reduce the response time of emergency care in MHSNs.

대부분의 전자상거래 시스템이 유선 인터넷과 HTML(Hypertext Markup Language)을 기반으로 하고 있다. 그러나, 무선 단말기의 대량 보급으로 무선 인터넷이 인터넷의 새로운 패러다임을 주도하고 있으며, 효율적인 전자상거래를 위하여 HTML기반의 시스템이 XML(eXtended Markup Language) 기반으로 대치되는 과정에 있다. 무선 인터넷은 이동전화나 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) 등 소형 무선 단말기 상에서 인터넷을 이용할 수 있도록 해주는 프로토콜의 총칭으로 정의되는 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)과 같은 규약을 이용하여 다양한 서비스를 시간 및 공간의 제약을 받지 않고 무선 장치를 통하여 제공한다. 그리고, XML은 정보나 자료를 처리하는 데 있어 공통의 표준을 적용시킬 수 있고, 이 기종 응용프로그램간의 상호 작용을 중대시키고, 조직간에 정보 공유를 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 WAP과 XML의 장점을 결합한 전자상거래 시스템을 소개한다. 제안된 시스템은 WAP을 이용하여 무선뿐만 아니라 유선으로 실시간 정보 공유를 가능하게 하였고, 기존 시스템에서의 데이터베이스 시스템을 XML데이터로 대체시킴으로 인하여 데이터 저장을 위한 시공간의 비용을 절감시켰다. 뿐만 아니라 XML데이터의 사용으로 메타데이터를 생성 및 가공할 수 있는 방법을 구현하였다.

As construction works have become larger and more complex, improving productivity by introducing Information Technology (IT) is pursued and more effective construction management is needed in construction industry. In this circumstance, many different kinds of project management system is being introduced, and various IT technologies are applied such as Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), Bar Code, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Web Camera, and so on. However, these kinds of technologies might cause re-processing of information and ineffectiveness of project because of lack of real time information processing technology or separation between construction sites and management offices. Meanwhile, these technologies rather decrease the construction productivity except for the data saving and database function. Therefore, this research aims to develop Application that can be applied efficiently for construction material management, by understanding problems of former management system with questionnaires and extracting functions with analysis of requirements. In virtue of the construction material management Application which will be developed in this study, it will be possible to input information automatically, to process and check material information in real time, and to identify the location of necessary material. Then, the problem of separation between construction sites and management offices are solved, and as a result, more efficient management of materials in construction sites will become possible. At the same time, this study will investigate the possibility and applicability of new IT device, Smart Phone to construction sites.

모바일광고는 이동성을 가진 PDA, 웹폰 등 모든 이동성 기기를 통 털어 정보화시대를 살아가는 모든 사람과 생활에 커다란 변화를 일으키며 앞으로 그 변화를 예측하기 어려울 정도로 기술과 적용범위를 넓혀가고 있다. 편재성, 도달성 ,편리성등의 속성을 지닌 모바일광고에 현재는 위치성, 정보성, 개인화가 더해져 단순한 음성통화의 기능만을 한 초기의 모바일광고의 기능에서 데이터 통신의 기능이 첨가되면서 모바일 인터넷 환경을 더욱 발전시키고 있으며 이동통신 단말기를 통해 음악, 그래픽, 음성, 문자 등을 기반으로 하는 SMS 형식, 그래픽형식, 왑 푸시방식의 SMS 형식, 리치미디어 형식으로 전해지고 있으며 이러한 형식 속에 모바일 캐릭터는 2D형식의 픽셀아트 기법과 동영상등의 그래픽 기법으로 뗄레야 뗄 수 없는 상관관계로 존재하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 뉴미디어 시대의 기업 마케팅에 있어서 핵심이라 할 수 있는 모바일 광고속의 모바일 캐릭터의 역할과 중요성을 인식하고, 모바일 시장의 활성화를 위해 마케팅 도구로서의 모바일 캐릭터의 모형들을 현재까지 개발되어 상용화되어지고 있는 이동통신사들의 타켓별 고객서비스를 기준으로 분류하고 그에 따른 소비자의 반응을 설문조사를 통해 연구하여 그에 따른 최적의 모바일 캐릭터의 기법을 제안하려 한다.

본 연구는 무선 센서네트워크를 활용하여 환자 또는 고령자를 위한 ECG, 활동량 모니터링 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 심전도 변화는 사람의 활동, 뛰거나 걷기 등의 움직임에 따라 조금씩 변화한다. 그래서 종종 자세, 행동에 따른 ECG변화의 기록은 중요시되며 이를 위해 매일 활동하는 환자의 활동 모니터링 시스템이 필요하다. ECG와 활동량 데이터는 자동 알림기능을 지원하는 시스템에 저장되고 긴급 상황 발생 시 보다 빠르게 초기 활동을 할 수 있게 한다. 몸에서 계측된 ECG 데이터와 활동량 데이터는 무선 센서네트워크를 통해 베이스테이션과 연결된 서버에 전송되며 서버에서 비정상적 상황을 판별시 발생 의사의 PDA 또는 서버에 데이터를 전송한다.

IT기술의 급속한 발전과 함께 데이터의 증가 양이 양산되고 있다. 새로운 데이터양은 매우 커지고 있으며, 유비쿼터스 환경에서 필요되는 센서 장치 혹은 클라이언트 장치들로부터 생성된 새로운 데이터 형태는 매우 다양하여 데이터들을 관리하고 제어하기가 어렵다. 특히, 유비쿼터스 환경에서 발생된 데이터는 PDA, 스마트 폰, 모바일 장치 혹은 센서 장치 등 다양한 원천 소스 등을 통해 생성된다. 그러므로 의사결정을 위해 유비쿼터스 장치로부터 생성된 데이터를 관리하고 제어하기 위해서 통합된 저장 장소로 데이터 웨어하우스를 사용한다. 데이터 웨어하우스는 서로 다른 몇몇 DBMS 데이터를 하나의 DBMS로 통합하고 집단화한다. 또한, 소스 데이터로부터 갱신된 데이터는 효과적으로 데이터 웨어하우스로 전파되어야 한다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 새로운 IT패러다임 환경인 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 정확하고 효율적인 데이터 관리 방법론을 위한 모델을 제시한다. 또한 갱신된 데이터를 의사 결정을 위해 활용할 수 있으며, 기존 방법론과 비교하여 분석 결과를 보인다.

본 논문은 UWB 센서를 이용한 위치인식 시스템의 구현 및 실험결과와 상황인지형 서비스 구현에 대하여 기술한다. 정확한 위치측정을 위해 UWB 센서의 경사도(pitch), 편주(yaw), 센서 개수, tag 높이 등의 변화에 따른 위치인식 오차를 측정하여 각 변수의 설정 방법을 실험하였다. 이를 이용한 응용으로 상황인지 기술에 바탕한 지능형 헬스트레이닝 관리 시스템 구현하였다. 지능형 헬스 트레이닝 관리 시스템은 헬스장에서 피 훈련자의 위치와 장비의 사용 상태를 인식하여, 적절한 훈련 스케줄을 피 훈련자에게 제공하며, 그에 따른 훈련 장비들의 사용법을 PDA를 통해 안내한다. 상황인지형 서비스의 제공을 위해서는 사용자의 위치와 이동 정보에 대한 오차 보정이 요구되어 사용자의 이동하는 속도를 이용한 위치 보정 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 실험 결과는 제안된 보정 알고리즘을 적용함으로써 이 알고리즘이 적용하지 않았을 때에 비해 오류 데이터가 30% 정도 감소하였다.

Our research brings managerial insights for developing new digital convergence of devices and services. To explain the phenomenon of device and service convergence, we combine two different approaches from separate research fields: a perceptual mapping technique generally used for segmentation in marketing and associative network analysis mobilized to understanding network structure of core and peripheral as well as the information mediating role of nodes in network science. By combining these two approaches, we provide an in-depth analysis of the associations among devices and services by assessing the centrality of device and service nodes in an associative network. This is done by examining the connections between these services and devices as well as investigating the role of mediation in the combined device-service associative network. Our results based on bi-partite network analysis of survey responses from 250 Internet Protocol (IP) television viewers show which device and which service will play the major role in future device and service convergence as well as which characteristics and functionalities have to be incorporated into future convergence. Among the devices, the mobile handset with the betweenness centrality of 0.26 appears to be the device that would lead future device convergence. Among the services, wireless broadband with the betweenness centrality of 0.276 appears to be the service on which future service convergence needs to be developed. This result is quite unexpected, since wireless broadband has a lower penetration rate than other services, such as fixed broadband and cable TV. In addition, we indicate the possibility of converging devices, such as personal digital assistant (PDA) and mobile handset, and services, such as IPTV and mobile Internet, into wireless broadband services in the future.

본 논문에서는 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant: 이하 PDA라 약칭함)와 같은 모바일 기기를 기반으로 하여 사용자가 원하는 대로 시스템의 인터페이스가 구성되는 사용자 중심형 전시관 정보 안내 시스템을 제안한다. 이는 PDA나 휴대폰 등과 같은 모바일 기기를 기반으로 제작함으로써 이동하는 사용자에게 휴대성의 편리를 제공하며, 기존의 브라우저와는 다르게 작은 디바이스 화면에서도 모든 데이터들에 대한 정보가 한 화면에 디스플레이되며, 사용자와의 인터랙션을 통하여 사용자가 원하는 정보를 중심으로 시스템의 인터페이스와 정보 요소를 구성할 수 있게 하여 이용에 편리성을 더한다. 또한 안내 대상의 위치 정보와 상세 정보 등을 글, 이미지, 음성, 동영상 등의 다양한 형태로 사용자에게 제공하는 데 그 특징이 있다. 본 논문에서 시스템은 미디어 정보 데이터베이스를 갖추고 있는 미디어 데이터 서버와 데이터베이스와 휴대용 안내시스템을 실시간으로 동시에 제어하기 위한 휴대용 시스템 컨트롤 서버 그리고 사용자의 요구 사항을 입력받고 구성된 안내 정보를 디스플레이하는 휴대용 안내 시스템 등으로 구성된다. 각 시스템은 TCP/IP기반의 네트워크 연결과 여러 전시관 형태나 데이터의 종류에 따라 갱신 및 추가, 교환이 가능하도록 하기 위한 XML(extensible Markup Language)과 JAVA 2 Micro Edition 기반의 제작을 제시한다. 이는 어떤 모바일 기기에서도 사용할 수 있게 하는 시스템의 범용성을 높일 수 있다.
