  • Based on the core value of the Q&A community, the contribution of knowledge and information has a great impact on users' community evaluation. As a small social group, the relationships and interactions among community members are quickly formed through information technology. As such, the cognitive evaluation of the relationship between community members will have an impact on the intention of information contribution. This research builds on the previous research based on the social exchange theory and establishes a dual model of swift guanxi in examining the relationship between guanxi and continuous knowledge contribution. In the current study, 305 survey questionnaires were used and 249 valid questionnaires were used for analysis. The analysis results are as follows: First, information support has a positive impact on dedication-based swift guanxi. While hypothesis between information support and constraint-based swift guanxi was not be supported. Second, emotional support has a positive impact on the formation of swift guanxi from a dual perspective. Third, the swift guanxi from the dual perspective has a positive impact on the intention of continuous knowledge contribution. Finally, although personal involvement has an adjustment effect, it is a downward adjustment effect, hypotheses are not supported. The current study offers theoretical and practical implications in field of knowledge management, specifically knowledge contribution in the virtual community.

A face-to-face survey was conducted through a market research firm. The subjects of this study were female adults in their 50s and 60s residing in the Seoul metro area (N=197). Significant differences were found in the clothing consuming behaviors of new seniors depending on their clothing involvement(CI). High-CI new seniors tended to place more importance on both personal and non-personal information sources than low-CI new seniors. High-CI new seniors place importance both "merchandise assortment and store atmosphere" and "sales associates and service" when they select stores for clothing than low-CI new seniors. In terms of sales associates' attributes, high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on customer-orientation than medium- and low-CI groups. Medium- and high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on appearance than low-CI groups. However, there were no significant statistical differences for professional expertise among the three different CI groups.

  • The degree of involvement was known to shape the types of decision- process behavior of consumers. The types of information search would be influenced according to the degree of involvement. The purpose of this study was to find out the fashion information sources used in clothing purchase, and to clarify the interrelationship of clothing involvement and information sources. The middle and high school girls in Seoul were the subjects of the study. The information sources were classified into three types; marketer-oriented, internal and personal sources. Fashion informations spreaded by mass media were the most diversely used by teens. Among fashion information sources, ‘my own thoughts and experiences’ was counted as the most important one. And ‘interior and display of the shop’ was more important than the other marketer-oriented informations. Clothing involvement in the aspect of pleasure/symbol showed meaningful correlation with the information of ‘street fashion’, but in the aspect of fashion consciousness, ‘fashion of movie stars and celebrities’was the most significant information source. It seemed that ‘fashion articles in the magazines’ was used to reduce perceived risk in clothing purchase.
