A Study on the Effects of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises CEO's Extroversion and Openness on Corporate Innovation Performance: Mediating effect of Innovation Behavior (중소기업 CEO의 외향성과 개방성이 기업혁신성과에 미치는 영향: 혁신행동의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the personal characteristics of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises(SMEs) CEOs, on innovation behavior and corporate innovation performance, and to verify the mediating role of innovation behavior. To verify the hypothesis of this study, a questionnaire was conducted on 264 CEOs and 563 top managements of SMEs in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. For the analysis of the investigated data, the research model and hypothesis were verified through correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and SEM using SPSS and AMOS. The analysis results are as follows. First, it was found that extroversion, the personal characteristics of SMEs CEOs, had a positive (+) effect on innovation behavior, and second, openness to experience, the personal characteristics, also had a positive (+) effect on innovation behavior. Third, it was analyzed that the influence of innovation behavior on the innovation performance of a company had a positive (+) effect. Fourth, it was found that innovation behavior had full mediation effects in the relationship between extroversion and corporate innovation performance, but the case of openness to experience was not significant. Finally, the significance, implications, and limitations of the study were described, and suggestions for further study were presented.

Applying Hedonic Price Model to Analyzing Non-market Characteristic of Personal Computer (헤도닉 가격모형을 이용한 개인컴퓨터의 비시장 속성에 대한 가치추정)

  • The purpose of this study is to test whether prices of personal computers reflect their varying degrees of non-marketable characteristics including after-sales service. This purpose is carried out using the hedonic price model. In this paper, we estimated 74 functional forms of hedonic price model using the quadratic Box-Cox transformation function and selected one based on the three criteria: expected signs, the statistical significance of estimated coefficients, and goodness of fit in terms of root-mean-square-percentage-error. In this study, we found hat as the after-sales service level increases the price of the personal computer increases. This result is consistent with the hypothesis that the less after-sales service offered with a personal computer, the less consumers are willing to pay for the personal computer, when all else remain constant. This finding shows that since the market works indirectly to influence pricing, the need to rely on consumer protection legislation to guarantee after-sales service is lessened. This study also found that after-sales service supported by each personal computer producer is not a free service, thus produces have a profit incentive for providing after-sales service.

  • This study analyzed information privacy concerns and personal innovation influences effects of perceived usefulness, ease-of-use and satisfaction for a smartphone-based shopping mall, using technology acceptance model. For empirical analysis, the structural equation modeling analysis method was used. The results are as follows. First, information privacy concern is the usefulness of smartphone-based shopping mall has significantly negative, but did not affect the ease of use. Second, personal innovation is the usefulness and ease of use smartphone-based shopping mall have significant positive effect. Third, ease of use smartphone-based shopping mall is usefulness and satisfaction have significant positive influence. Finally, the usefulness of use of the shopping mall based smartphone significant satisfaction in positively influencing.

  • The new characteristic of Millennial High-Tech Media is breaking the existing standardized creative grammar. The destructive form of high-tech media is differently accommodated according to the consumer's tendency or characteristics. The purpose of this study is to explore guidelines for effective creative strategy creation of high-tech media. In consumer psychology, consumer innovation is a key factor in evaluating the creativeness of high-tech media. The results of finding out the effect of persuasive communication on consumer innovation and advertising creative type are as follows. Informative(image) creative type showed higher attitude toward advertisement, brand attitude, purchase intention, and prior intention to consumers with high innovation than consumers with low innovation.

  • This paper empirically examines various personal characteristics and preferences of HRM (Human Resorce Mamagement) systems using data from 968 R&D professionals in 9 private R&D organizations. It identifies different patterns of reward and career development needs associated with 4 types of R&D professionals, who are categorized by personal characteristics: personality and attitude. A productive leader type shows active personal traits (which encompass high scores of need for achievement, risk-taking propensity, tolerance for ambiguity, and self-efficacy) and positive attitudes (which include high scores of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and low scores of turnover intention), while a cynical bystander type exhibits passive personal traits and negative attitudes toward a job. A passive adapter, who has passive personal characteristics but positive attitudes, and a frustrated champion, who is active in personality but negative in current job attitude, lie in between them. The results reveal that: 1) These four different types of R&D professionals show differences in their education, age and tenure level, and technical performance. 2) They have different career orientations and problem solving styles. 3) They also exhibit different preferences in performance appraisal criteria and rater, and reward structures. Based on these findings, this study suggests a contingent type of human resource management in terms of selection and staffing of R&D professionals, performance appraisal, incentive systems, and career development plans.

  • With Sales of bundling service in telecommunications service are on the increase due to continuous technology progress and the raised demand into convergence and integration service. In this paper, we analyzed the tendencies differences between subscriber and non-subscriber of the bundling service in telecommunications service to establish marketing strategies of the bundling service. we derived the subjective norm and personal innovation as tendency variables of users in using LTE(Long Term Evolution) services, which are based on bundling sales motivation theory, theory of reasoned action, and diffusion of innovation theory. The tendency variables were compared between subscriber and non-subscriber of the bundling service through statistical T-test in empirical study. As a result, we discovered that there are differences in both subjective norm and personal innovation between subscriber and non-subscriber of the bundling service. We also discovered that the subjective norm and the personal innovation of subscriber are stronger than non-subscriber. At last, we derived two implications to increase the sales of the bundling services. First, the bundling service should designed more innovative. Second, it would be effective to apply buzz marketing strategies based on the surrounding people.

Policy Directions for Boosting Fusion of PC in the Mechatronics Industry (메카트로닉스산업의 PC 융합 촉진을 위한 기술정책 방향)

  • Since computerized numerical controller(CNC) emerged as a result of the fusion of the electronics technology and the mechanical technology, there has been continuous evolution of CNC technology in the mechatronics industry. The industry is recently developing a new control system based on the fusion of personal computer(PC) and CNC. Upgraded PC has now integrated into CNC, making various machines possible to exchange data, software and hardware, and to greatly improve man-machine interface. The fusion of PC and CNC can form a new paradigm in technological innovation of not only control system but also whole machinery industry in near the future. Korea lagged behind the developed countries in the development of open control system with the fusion of PC. Turbotek, Hyundai Motor and Daewoo are leading companies, but their commercial possibility seems to be low because domestic market is too small to reap a commercial benefit. Nevertheless, the development of the system is an essential step for Korea to embark on a future technological paradigm of the machinery industry. The government needs to play some role for the development, for instance, government R&D projects, institutional building and training of related technicians.

The Effects of Consumer Characteristics on the Intention to Use U-healthcare Services (소비자 특성이 u-헬스케어 서비스 이용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the intention to utilize u-healthcare services in Korea. Specifically, this study attempted to identify the relationships among the intention to use u-healthcare, consumer's demographic characteristics, and personal information technology level. We conducted telephone interview and collected data from 406 householders 20 years old or older. The results showed significant differences in use intention of u-healthcare service by innovation, gender, and their interaction term. Residence area and average time of internet use had significant effect on the use intention of u-healthcare service. Also, the interaction term between innovation and education level had a significant effect on use intention. Based on the results we concluded that the consumer's characteristics and information technology level had a significant effect on the use intention of u-healthcare service.

  • UPIMS(University Personal Information Management System) 서비스는 컴퓨터를 이용하여 대학생들의 일정 관리를 위한 서비스 였으나, 인터넷과 무선 통신이 발달하면서, 사용자들이 개개인의 정보를 전화 단말기와 Office용 PC, 가정용 PC에서도 정보를 공유하고자 하는 요구가 발생하였고, 각 정보를 팀원간 공유를 통해 사용자 자신이 언제, 어디서나 원하는 정보를 전달받기를 원하며, 전달해주기를 원하고 있다. 이에 무선 인터넷 서비스를 통해 다양한 무선 단말기에 구애받지 않고, 사용자 정보를 관리할 수 있는 서비스를 가능하게 하기 위하여, 무선통신 기반의 PIMS(Personal Information Management System) 서버를 구축하여 개개인의 일정관리, 주소록 관리, 그룹 관리 학사일정 등의 다양한 개개인의 정보 맞춤 서비스를 수행하는 기능을 제공한다. 뿐만 아니라, UPIMS서버는 인터넷상의 다양한 정보를 관리 및 저장하여 가입자의 요구시 사용자 단말기에 적합한 형태로 정보를 변환하여 전송하는 역할을 하며 예약 시스템에도 활용 가능하게 된다.
