  • Geographic Information System(GIS) has become an essential tool for making efficient interaction with both natural and artificial envirionment. Currently, it is being used on an inteligent tool in many device like the personal digital assistant(PDA) and the cellular phone and so on. However, these devices show very low performance comparing to a personal computer(PC). These devices(PDA, celluar phone) posses a less powered device profile. The less powerful hardware make these devices in capable to handle GIS based large spacial data. In this paper, we propose a new concept of multi-tier GIS oriented architecture to improve the data transfer performance providing only the necessary information required by the user using semantic filter.

  • 본 논문은 ISO/IEEE 11073 개인건강기기 표준에서 정의된 PM-store 개념을 적용하여 주기적으로 발생하는 대용량 측정 데이터의 전송 프로토콜을 구현할 경우, 개인건강기기의 중앙처리장치(CPU)에서 수행해야 하는 명령사이클(instruction cycles)의 수를 기반으로 한 복잡도 분석에 대한 연구이다. PM-store의 구성에 따라 중앙처리 장치가 처리해야 할 명령 사이클의 수에 대한 분석모델을 제시하였다.

Traffic Information Service Model Considering Personal Driving Trajectories

  • In this paper, we newly propose a traffic information service model that collects traffic information sensed by an individual vehicle in real time by using a smart device, and which enables drivers to share traffic information on all roads in real time using an application installed on a smart device. In particular, when the driver requests traffic information for a specific area, the proposed driver-personalized service model provides him/her with traffic information on the driving directions in advance by predicting the driving directions of the vehicle based on the learning of the driving records of each driver. To do this, we propose a traffic information management model to process and manage in real time a large amount of online-generated traffic information and traffic information requests generated by each vehicle. We also propose a road node-based indexing technique to efficiently store and manage location-based traffic information provided by each vehicle. Finally, we propose a driving learning and prediction model based on the hidden Markov model to predict the driving directions of each driver based on the driver's driving records. We analyze the traffic information processing performance of the proposed model and the accuracy of the driving prediction model using traffic information collected from actual driving vehicles for the entire area of Seoul, as well as driving records and experimental data.

  • 임베디드 시스템은 일반 PC(Personal Computer)나 워크스테이션에 비해 느린 CPU와 작은 메모리 공간을 사용하고 있다. 따라서 임베디드 운영체제는 제한된 자원을 효과적으로 사용하도록 설계되어져야 한다. 그런데 임베디드 리눅스의 가상 메모리 관리 기법에서 페이지 폴트가 발생할 경우 스왑 디바이스로 페이지를 이동하는 과정에서 성능 저하가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 가상 메모리 기법의 효율성을 놀이며 메모리 공간의 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있는 가상 메모리 압축 기법을 구현하였다. 가상 메모리 압축 기법은 임베디드 리눅스의 가상 메모리 관리 기법에서 스왑핑이 발생할 경우 스왑 디바이스로 이동하는 페이지들을 압축하여 이동시킴으로서 스왑핑에서 발생하는 성능저하를 감소시키며, 압축된 스왑 디바이스의 운영으로 메모리의 공간 효율성을 높인 수 있다. 또한 본 논문에서는 메모리 내의 소량의 데이터 압축에 적합한 알고리즘을 고안하여, 압축률의 효율성과 시스템 성능을 향상시키고자 하였다.

  • A personal low-frequency stimulator is a portable device to relax muscle pains of a person. The stimulator generates combined low-frequency pulses to be applied to pads attached to painful muscles. This paper reports a development of such device with its characteristic analyses. The major components of our stimulator are MCU, high-voltage generating circuit part, high-voltage switching circuit part, input switch part and display unit. High-voltage generating circuit is designed by using a boost converter circuit and allows user control of the output voltage. High-voltage switching circuit, controlled by MCU, generates output voltage to be applied to pads. Input switch part is composed of power supply, intensity selection, mode selection and memory. Display unit adopts a text LCD module to display modes, Intensity, output frequency and user set-up time. Our designed safety circuit, to protect human body from possible electric shock, slowly increases the output voltage to the selected output intensity. It continuously checks the output pulse shape and disable the output when dangerous pulses are detected. This paper also shows some experimental results.

A Machine Vision System for Inspecting Tape-Feeder Operation

  • A tape feeder of a SMD(Surface Mount Device) mounter is a device that sequentially feeds electronic components on a tape reel to the pick-up system of the mounter. As components are getting much smaller, feeding accuracy of a feeder becomes one of the most important factors for successful component pick-up. Therefore, it is critical to keep the feeding accuracy to a specified level in the assembly and production of tape feeders. This paper describes a tape feeder inspection system that was developed to automatically measure and to inspect feeding accuracy using machine vision. It consists of a feeder base, an image acquisition system, and a personal computer. The image acquisition system is composed of CCD cameras with lens, LED illumination systems, and a frame grabber inside the PC. This system loads up to six feeders at a time and inspects them automatically and sequentially. The inspection software was implemented using Visual C++ on Windows with easily usable GUI. Using this system, we can automatically measure and inspect the quality of ail feeders in production process by analyzing the measurement results statistically.

스마트러닝 서비스 모델에 대한 연구 (A Study on Smart Learning Service Model)

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트기기의 출현으로 급변하는 정보통신환경을 반영한 스마트러닝 모델을 제시한다. 스마트 기기들은 화면크기와 성능이 다양하지만 크게 스마트폰, 스마트 패드, 개인용 컴퓨터(PC), 스마트 TV로 구분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 각 기기 유형별로 서비스에 적합한 교육 콘텐츠와 상호작용 방법들에 대하여 살펴보고, 각 기기 특성에 맞는 스마트러닝 서비스 모델과 향후 정보통신환경을 반영한 스마트 러닝의 발전 방향을 제시하였다.

분리형 히트파이프를 이용한 전자장비내 발열체의 온도제어에 관한 연구 (The Study of Using Separate Heatpipes for Thermal Control in Electronic Equipments)

  • This Paper Presents an information about the heat transfer characteristics of a separate type thermosyphon in electronic equipments. The heat removal problem of electronic equipments is regarded as an important factor and a separate type heatpipes can be utilized as a cooling device of electronic equipments (such as CPU of a Personal computer or notebook). In this study. heat source ($50\times50\times2 mm $aluminum Pseudo CPU) was used for the experiment. The device can transfer heat from the evaporator to the condenser through natural circulation (without any external driving forces) and the results indicate that the device is capable of dissipating over 60W of thermal energy and keeping the heating plate surface temperature under $50^{\circ}C$.

전자 장비 냉각에 있어서의 분리형 써모사이펀의 적용 (The application of separate type thermosyphon for cooling of electronic equipments)

  • A separate type thermosyphon can be utilized as a cooling device of electronic equipments (such as CPU of a personal computer or notebook). This study was carried out to investigate the cooling effect of separate type thermosyphon and to find the adequate parameters affecting the separate type thermosyphon. The heat transfer characteristics of separate type thermosyphon were obtained from experimental results. A $50{\times}50{\times}2 mm$ heat source was copied after CPU for the experiments. The results indicate that the device is capable of dissipating 60W of thermal energy and keeping the heat plate surface temperature under 50'E and the device can transfer heat from the evaporator to the condenser through natural circulation (without any external driving forces). Some transport phenomena of the working fluid and the heat transfer characteristics of the loop were observed in the experiments and are discussed in detail below.

MBTI-based Recommendation for Resource Collaboration System in IoT Environment

  • In IoT(Internet of Things) environment, users want to receive customized service by users' personal device such as smart watch and pendant. To fulfill this requirement, the mobile device should support a lot of functions. However, the miniaturization of mobile devices is another requirement and has limitation such as tiny display. limited I/O, and less powerful processors. To solve this limitation problem and provide customized service to users, this paper proposes a collaboration system for sharing various computing resources. The paper also proposes the method for reasoning and recommending suitable resources to compose the user-requested service in small device with limited power on expected time. For this goal, our system adopts MBTI(Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) to analyzes user's behavior pattern and recommends personalized resources based on the result of the analyzation. The evaluation in this paper shows that our approach not only reduces recommendation time but also increases user satisfaction with the result of recommendation.
