The Effects of Psychological Climate Factors on Job Performance in Joint-Stock Commercial Banks in Vietnam

  • This research identifies the main factors of the psychological climate that directly affect the performance of banking employees in Vietnam. Besides, this research also takes into consideration the differences in gender, age, educational level, and income on working performance. A survey was obtained from 207 employees working at joint-stock commercial banks and the analysis was handled with SPSS 20 software supports. The result shows that the measurement scales meet the requirements of validity and reliability. Regression analysis demonstrates that there are four factors directly affecting the working performance: friendliness, personal development and learning opportunities, straight and open communication, and the support from the senior management. These four factors have created a healthy psychological climate in the banks, where employees will feel comfortable and happy to improve work performance. Furthermore, this research has found that the higher the income, the more efficiently employees will work. The results of this research contribute to the measurement scale of working environment factors. At the same time, this research also proposes some recommendations for organizational managers to build a reasonable working environment that can inspire a sense of mental comfort for employees to work at their full capacity and to achieve the highest performance.

  • Carboxymethyl cellulose/poly(ethylene glycol) (CMC/PEG) hydrogels crosslinked with citric acid (CA) are synthesized to evaluate the effect of CMC molecular weight (Mw), PEG and CA concentration on the optical property, swelling rate (SR), degradation rate (DR), and cytotoxicity and cell proliferation of hydrogels. For crosslinked CMC/PEG hydrogels, the FT-IR peak intensity associated with hydroxyl groups decreases due to PEG intercalation (esterification crosslinking) between CMC chains in a similar manner as the concentration of CA crosslinker increases. Crosslinked CMC (Mw = 90,000)/PEG hydrogels with 10 % CA dissolve regardless of PEG content. However, the SR of the CMC (Mw = 250,000)/PEG hydrogels decrease from 4923 % to 168 % with increasing PEG and CA concentrations from 0 to 20 % and from 0 to 25 %, respectively. As the Mw of CMC increases, the DR of the hydrogel is greatly improved. CMC (Mw = 250,000)/PEG10 hydrogels with 10 % CA exhibit the optimum properties of high absorbing capacity (3,200 %) with moderate DR (54 %), stiffness (1.39 ± 0.19 GPa), and cell viability (94.8 ± 1.3 %). CA-crosslinked CMC/PEG hydrogels are highly suitable for wound dressing or personal care applications due to their non-toxicity, good cell proliferation, SR, and mechanical properties.

  • The current state of telecommunications infrastructure in the Arctic does not allow providing a wide range of required services for people, businesses and other categories, which necessitates the use of non-traditional approaches to its organization. The paper proposes an innovative approach to building a combined communication network based on tethered high-altitude platform station (HAPS) located at an altitude of 1-7 km and connected via radio channels with terrestrial and satellite communication networks. Network configuration and composition of telecommunication equipment placed on HAPS and located on the terrestrial and satellite segment of the network was justified. The availability of modern equipment and the distributed structure of such an integrated network will allow, unlike existing networks (Iridium, Gonets, etc.), to organize personal mobile communications, data transmission and broadband Internet up to 100 Mbps access for mobile and fixed subscribers, rapid transmission of information from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). A substantiation of the possibility of achieving high network capacity in various paths is presented: inter-platform radio links, subscriber radio links, HAPS feeder lines - terrestrial network gateway, HAPS radio links - satellite retransmitter (SR), etc. The economic efficiency of the proposed solution is assessed.

Sampling and Analytical Method for Linear Carbonates using GC/FID (GC/FID를 이용한 사슬형 카보네이트 3종의 측정·분석방법)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop an air sampling and analytical method for estimating worker exposure to linear carbonate solvents and to evaluate the method. Methods: The target substances were three linear carbonates: DMC, DEC, EMC. GC/FID was used for sample analysis. Laboratory experiments were conducted to determine desorption solvents and sample capacity, and to evaluate storage stability, accuracy, and precision. Results: Coconut Shell Charcoal (CSC, 100/50 mg) was used as the air sampling media, and a desorption solvent of 5% methanol/95% dichloromethane was selected. Recommended sampling capacities were 1~11 ℓ for DMC, 1~18 ℓ for DEC, and 1~24 ℓ for EMC. The stability of three linear carbonates was demonstrated over 30 days in a refrigerator (4℃). Detection limits were determined as follows: DMC 0.26 ㎍/sample, DEC 0.24 ㎍/sample, and EMC 0.25 ㎍/sample. The total coefficient of variation was calculated as DMC 0.064, DEC 0.079, and EMC 0.07. Conclusions: This sampling and analysis method is suitable for estimating personal exposure to linear carbonates in the workplace.

  • Due to industrialization, a trace amount of residues of pharmaceuticals and personal hygiene products (PPCPs) flows into the ecosystem, polluting the ecosystem. In particular, it was intended to remove trace pollutants flowing into the effluent due to the increase in the amount of acetaminophen detected after COVID 19. To conduct this experiment, selected 6 media which are suitable for construcgted wetland and isothermal adsorption experiments. Langmuir equation and the Freundlich equation were used to calculate the maximum removal rate of acetaminophen. Among them, the Freundlich equation showed a higher result value of 0.9823. It was applied when forming constructed wetlands in urban areas to model the reduction rate of acetaminophen in wetlands.

  • Korea Basic Science Institute(KBSI) has three general electron microscopes including High Voltage Electron Microscope(HVEM) which is the only one in Korea. Observed images through an electron microscope are what they are tilted by each step and saved, offering the more better circumstances for observers, a reconstruction to 3D could be a essential process. In this process, a warping method decreases distortions maximumly of avoided parts of a camera's focus. All these image treatment processes and 3D reconstruction processes are based on an accompaniment of a highly efficient computer, a number of Grid Node Personal computers share this process in a short time and dispose of it. Grid Node Personal computers' purpose is to make an owner can share different each other and various computing resources efficiently and also Grid Node Personal computers is applying to solve problems like a role scheduling needed for a constructing system, a resource management, a security, a capacity measurement, a condition monitoring and so on. Grid Node Personal computers accomplish roles of a highly efficient computer that general individuals felt hard to use, moreover, a image treatment using the warping method becomes a foundation for reconstructing to more closer shape with an real object of observation. Construction of the electron microscope volume 랜더링 system based on Grid Node Personal computer through the warping process can offer more convenient and speedy experiment circumstances to observers, and makes them meet with experiment outcome that is similar to real shapes and is easy to understand.

The Effect of Social Workers' Convergent Job Competence Enhancement Working in a Social Welfare Facility on Quality of Life (사회복지시설 종사자의 융합적 직무역량강화가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine whether the enhancement of convergent job competence of social worker working in a social welfare facility affects the quality of life. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, we surveyed 20 social welfare workers working in 20 social welfare facilities in Gyeonggi area and used 188 pieces collected. The random sampling method was used for the sampling method. As a result, there was a positive correlation between personal competence and satisfaction, environmental competence and dissatisfaction, relationship competence and satisfaction in social workers' competence enhancement and quality of life. And social competence's individual competence and environmental competence play a positive role in dissatisfaction. Also, it can be seen that the relationship competency plays a negative role in dissatisfaction. The degree of individual competence, the ability to control the mind to turnover, and the relationship capacity play a positive role in satisfaction. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of life of the social welfare workers, it is expected that there will be a positive effect in implementing the job capacity enhancement education program for the social welfare workers.

  • This research aims to analyze the changes in participants' capacity (problem-solving ability and self-leadership), humanity (self-efficacy), and global network (intercultural sensitivity) as performance indicators and the 'effectiveness of personal characteristics' of the World Friends IT Volunteers program. To do this, the study conducted a pre-test and a post-test on 364 participants of the World Friends IT Volunteers program. The collected data is investigated through ANCOVA using covariates, driven from the prerest results. The results of this study represent that meaningful improvements have been identified in problem-solving ability, self-leadership and intercultural sensitivity since the operation of the program. Regarding the personal characteristics, performance in the female group improved more than the male group in terms of intercultural sensitivity, whereas the male group showed better performance on self-efficacy than the female group. In addition, the group with a high level of English proficiency showed more progress on intercultural sensitivity and self-leadership than the English-beginner group. Besides, the group who had an experience of short-term stay overseas showed moderate improvement on problem-solving ability and intercultural sensitivity when compared to other groups. The group who had lived overseas for a long-term showed better indicators on intercultural sensitivity. Also, self-efficacy of the leader group was more noticeable than that of the member group.

  • Small and medium-sized venture companies and small business owners play an important role in the Korean economy. According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' statistics survey in 2019, the proportion of all employees of small and medium-sized venture companies in Korea was 89.8%, which is overwhelmingly higher than that of Japan's 77.8% and Taiwan's 76.6%, so job creation for small and medium-sized venture companies in Korea is absolute. Compared to large companies, it is known that it is difficult for small and medium-sized venture companies in Korea to secure a competitive advantage due to low cost competitiveness, difficulties in R&D/marketing due to lack of capital, difficulties in securing networks, and lack of management know-how. Many scholars, including Kerr and Schumpeter, have studied entrepreneurship since the mid-1950s. Recently, research has been conducted in various fields such as business administration, psychology, and economics. However, research on the personal characteristics of CEOs of small and medium-sized venture companies such as entrepreneurial passion and corporate reputation, which is the overall image of companies, is still insufficient, and comparisons of effects between variables between groups (by industry, by pressure, etc.) have not yet been presented.   • Methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoates are a kind of nonionic surfactants obtainable from reaction of fatty acid methyl ester with ethylene oxide utilizing a solid catalyst. Methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoates have economical advantage compared with polyoxyethylene dodecyl ethers using fatty alcohol. In this work, the solubilizing capacity concerned with phase behavior of ternary systems composed of nonionic surfactant/water/oil, interfacial tension and detergency at the phase inversion temperature(PIT) were investigated and compared with those of polyoxyethylene dodecyl ethers in order to confirm the applicability of methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoates in the detergents. Methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoates showed the solubilizing capacity of 10~18% for hexadecane which were about 6% higher than polyoxyethylene dodecyl ethers. At the PIT condition, methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoates' interfacial tension were 0.0124~0.0176 dyne/cm while polyoxyethylene dodecyl ethers have the value of 0.013~0.0163 dyne/cm and methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoates showed higher detergency of 82.1~83.2% than polyoxyethylene dodecyl ethers of 76.5~77.3%. The good detergency performance of methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoates would be due to the higher oil solubilizing power and lower interfacial tension than polyoxyethylene dodecyl ethers at the PIT condition.
