천공필름을 이용한 방울 토마토의 저장 수명 연장에 관한 연구 (Prolongation of Cherry Tomato Shelf-life Using Perforated Film Packaging)

  • 본 연구에서는 사용이 증가되고 있는 천공포장재 필름을 방울 토마토 저장에 이용하여 방울 토마토의 품질변화를 조사하였으며, 또한 세척 및 꼭지 제거의 최소가공 처리유무가 방울 토마토의 저장성에 미치는 영향 및 최적 천공포장 조건을 살펴보았다. 에틸렌 가스 및 이산화탄소는 천공필름 중 투과성이 가장 낮은 LF05 및 OPP/PE 필름구에서 상대적으로 투과성이 높은 LF10, LF20, LF40에 비해 높은 값을 보였고, 산소 분압의 경우 LF05에서 낮은 분압을 나타내었다. 조직감은 LF05 필름에 저장된 방울토마토에서 경도의 급격한 감소가 일어났으며, 색도의 경우 포장재차이에 의한 일정한 경향 없이 L값과 a값 각각 다소 감소하거나 증가하는 듯 보였으며, b값의 경우 저장기간이 길어질수록 뚜렷이 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 당도 및 산도변화를 관찰한 결과 투과성이 낮은 LF05, LF10, LF20필름에 저장된 방울 토마토의 당도는 저장기간이 길수록 감소되고 산도는 일정수준을 유지한 반면에, 투과성이 높은 PET 용기에 보존한 방울 토마토와, LF40필름에 넣어 보존한 것은 당도가 천천히 떨어지거나 비슷한 수준으로 유지되고, 산도는 증가하는 변화를 나타냈다. 천공포장재 별 미생물 균총의 경우, 꼭지를 제거한 경우와 제거하지 않은 경우 차이가 있어 방울 토마토의 주요한 균은 꼭지부분에서 유래되는 것으로 보인다. PET 박스 포장의 경우 표피에 심한 주름과 수축을 보이는 등 저장성이 좋지 않았다. 천공포장재 필름 중 LF 40 은 내부의 공기의 조성을 변화시켜 줄 수 있는 정도의 투과성을 보유하고 있어, 다른 LF 종류 필름에 비해 방울 토마토의 저장성에 긍정적인 결과를 보여주었다.

Development and Characterization of an Anti-Acne Gel Containing Siamese Crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis) Leukocyte Extract

  • Leukocytes are reportedly the first line of the innate immune defense and essential for the control of common bacterial infections. Therefore, in this work, the antibacterial activity of crocodile leukocyte extract against Propionibacterium acnes was evaluated, and we also characterized the related activity of skin infection. The leukocyte extract showed the minimum inhibitory concentration to be $100{\mu}g/ml$ to P. acnes. SEM imaging demonstrated that the leukocyte extract adversely affected P. acnes cell permeability in a concentration-dependent manner. Furthermore, the crocodile leukocyte extract could significantly reduce proinflammatory markers and decrease inflammatory signs in infected mouse ears. The crude leukocyte extract was further purified using FPLC and RP-HPLC. The resulting fraction F5 was indicated as the anti-acne peptide-containing fraction. The molecular mass of the peptide contained in F5 was calculated to be 4,790.5 Da. N-Terminal sequencing revealed the amino acid sequence as GPEPVPAIYQ, which displays similarities to immunoglobulin A and leucine-rich repeat neuronal protein. This is the first reported amino acid sequence of a crocodile leukocyte extract that possesses anti-acne activity. To attempt to use it in a prototype cosmetic, an anti-acne gel containing crude crocodile leukocyte extract was formulated, resulting in seven gel formulations (G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, and G7). The formulations G5, G6, and G7 exhibited 2-fold higher anti-acne activity than G1-G4. Investigation of accelerating stability studies of anti-acne gel formulations G5, G6, and G7 demonstrated that a low storage temperature ($4^{\circ}C$) is suitable for maintaining the physical properties and biological activity of the anti-acne gel products.

세라마이드 IIIB와 각질층 지질을 함유한 나노에멀젼의 거동 (Behaviour of Nanoemulsions Containing Ceramide IIIB and Stratum Corneum Lipids)

  • 오일/정제수(O/W) 나노에멀젼은 피부의 투과성을 변화시키는 효과적인 매개체이다. 본 연구에서 우리는 콜레스테롤, 팔미틴산과 같은 피부 각질층 지질과 세라마이드 IIIB (CIIIB)의 피부 적용을 위한 콜로이드성 운반체 역할을 하는 나노에멀젼의 제조와 특성화에 초점을 두었다. 나노에멀젼을 최적화하기 위해, 입자 크기, 나노에멀젼 안정성 및 CIIIB의 용해도와 관련하여 유화 공정 조건을 검토하였다. $80^{\circ}C$의 유화 온도 및 PIC (phase inversion composition) 유화법을 통해 입자 크기의 감소가 관찰되었다. CIIIB는 오일 및 물에 대한 용해도가 낮다. CIIIB의 농도가 증가하면 나노 에멀젼의 입자 크기가 증가하였다. Lipoid S75-3을 오일 상에 첨가하면 CIIIB의 용해도가 증가하여 DSC 측정에서 보여지는 일부 상호 작용을 나타냈다. CIIIB와 피부 각질층 지질은 결정화 또는 물리적 불안정성 없이 성공적으로 나노 에멀젼에 혼입될 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 피부 각질층 지질을 함유하는 안정한 나노 에멀젼은 피부를 위한 효과적인 보습 시스템으로서 효과적일 수 있다.

편성물의 섬유의 종류, 실의 굵기 및 니트타입에 따른 투습완충능력 (Effect of Fiber Content, Yarn Size and Construction of Knit Fabrics on the Buffering Capacity against Water Vapor)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of chacteristics of knit fabrics on the microclimate of the skin simulating system. To determine the effect of characteristics of knit fabrics, vapor state of sweat pulse was simulated in the closed system. Different contents of fibers such as cotton, wool and polyester with different yarn size and knit types were chosen for specimens. The changes of humidity and temperature of air layer in the simulated systems were measured. Buffering indices, $K_d$ and $\beta_r$, were determined by considering $\alpha_p, \DeltaP_{max}, t_{max}, and tan\beta$. Physical properties of knit fabrics such as thickness, porosity, air resistance and moisture vapor transport were measured. Results showed that vapor pressure of wool was lower than cotton or polyester This was attributed to the hydrophilicity of wool which absorbed moisture rather quickly and retained in the knit fabric. The time to decrease vapor pressure was faster for polyester than cotton or wool. As a result, $K_d$ was in the order of wool> polye, item> cotton. $\beta_r$ of wool was rower than cotton or polyester due to its lowers porosity and slower desorption rate. For the yarn size, $K_d$ was in the order of 80's> 60's> 30's; thinner and lighter yarn showed better water vapor transport property. For knit type, buffering capacity of single jersey was better than interlock knit fabric. Statistical analysis showed that the air permeability was the most influential factor far the water vapor transport properties.

직물의 친수 및 소수화 처리가 피부잔류수분량 및 쾌적감에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Hydrophilic and Hydrophobic Finishes of Fabrics on the Stratum Corneum Water Content and Comfort Properties)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of hydrophilic finish for polyester (PET) fabric and hydrophobic finish for cotton fabric on the water transport and comfort properties. Polyester fabric was treated with 10% sodium hydroxide solution to impart hydrophilicity. Cotton fabric was sprayed with Scotch-gard$^{(R)}$ water and oil repellent finish to impart hydrophobicity. Porosity, air permeability, contact angle, wickability and water vapor transport rate (WVTR) were measured to determine the water transport properties of fabrics. To compare the comfort properties of treated and untreated fabrics, wear test was performed by putting fabric patches on the upper back: stratum corneum water content (SCWC), subjective wettedness and comfort rating were determined. The results were as follows: (1) The contact angle of water on treated polyester fabric was decreased and that of treated cotton fabric was increased. Also, the wickability of treated polyester fabric was increased and the wickability of cotton fabric was decreased. (2) Although each finish did not change porosity, the water vapor transport rate of treated polyester fabric was increased and that of treated cotton fabric was decreased slightly. (3) The results of stratum corneum water content measurements showed good agreement with the results of the contact angle and the wickability, i.e., the better the liquid water transport properties are, the less the stratum corneum water contents were resulted. (4) The realtionship of subjective wettedness or comfort and stratum corneum water content was independent. Therefore, it was concluded that human perception on the subjective wettedness or the comfort is affected by the skin contact of wet fabric rather than by the stratum corneum water content.

프로스타글란딘 E1 에칠에스테르의 외용 리오겔 제제 설계 (External Lyogel Formulation of Prostaglandin E1 Ethyl Ester)

  • External lyogels containing prostaglandin $E_1$ ethyl ester $(PGE_1-EE)$, a prodrug of prostaglandin $E_1\;(PGE_1)$ as a therapeutic agent for erectile dysfunction, were formulated to overcome the aqueous instability and enhance the percutaneous absorption. Lyogels of $PGE_1-EE$ were prepared with ethanol (EtOH)/proplyene glycol (PG) cosolvent system as a vehicle, cineol as an enhancer, and hydroxypropylcellusose as a gelling agent. In vitro percutaneous absorption studies were performed to determine the rate of $PGE_1$ absorption through rat or hairless mouse skin. The permeability of $PGE_1-EE$ lyogel with enhancer was 16-fold greater than that of lyogel without enhancer. Cosolvent produced 9-fold increase in percutaneous absorption. Pharmacodynamic effects of lyogels were evaluated in mature male cats in terms of intracavernosal pressure (ICP). Lyogels containing 0.1 % of $PGE_1-EE$ showed higher ICP compared to intraurethral preparation of $PGE_1$ (1 %) and enhancer-free control lyogel. The shelf-life $(t_{10%})$ of lyogel at refrigerated condition $(4^{\circ}C)$ was calculated as 928 days, which is 4.2 times longer than that of control hydrogel. As a result, $PGE_1-EE$ was formulated successfully to a lyogel system with a selective enhancer and cosolvent system for the topical delivery of $PGE_1$.

구보음(九寶飮)과 가미구보음(加味九寶飮)이 폐혈전색전(肺血栓塞栓) 및 즉시형(卽時型) Allergy반응(反應)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effects of Gubo-eum(Jiubao-yin) and Kamigubo-eum(Jiameijiubao-yin) on the Pulmonary Thromboembolism and the Immediately Type Hypersensitivity)

  • Objective : Experimental studies were done to research the effects of Gubo-eum(Jiubao-yin) and Kamigubo-eum(Jiameijiubao-yin) on the pulmonary thromboembolism and the immediately type hypersensitivity. Methods : For measuring the response about the pulmonary thromboembolism, we investigated a survival rate after the intravenous injection of sodium arachidonate and adenocine diphophate(ADP). For measuring the response about the immediately type hypersensitivity, we did the intravenous injection of histamin and serotonin, and phlebotomized and excoriated skin and investigated the amount of escaped pigment. Results : The each solid extract of Gubo-eum(Jiubao-yin) and Kamigubo-eum(Jiameijiubao-yin) revealed significant decrease effect on viscosity of mucin solution. The each solid extract of Gubo-eum(Jiubao-yin) and Kamigubo-eum(Jiameijiubao-yin) revealed significant effect on the pulmonary thromboembolism induced by sodium arachidonate and adenocine diphophate(ADP). The each solid extract of Guboeum(Jiubao-yin) and Kamigubo-eum(Jiameijiubao-yin) revealed significant on vascular permeability responses to intradenmal histamine and serotonine. conclusions : The each solid extract of Gubo-eum(Jiubao-yin) and Kamigubo-eum(Jiameijiubao-yin) revealed significant effect on the immediately type hypersensitivity and the pulmonary thromboembolism.

완전이식 인공심장용 무선정보 전송장치의 개발 (Development of A Biotelemetry System for A Totally Implantable Artificial Heart)

  • 본 연구에서는 체내에 이식되는 인공심장 및 제어시스템과 체외의 환자관리시스템간의 정보교환을 위한 무선 통신시스템(Biotelemetry System)을 개발하였다. 일반적으로 무선 telemetry라고 하면 전파 telemetry를 의미할 정도로 전파를 이용한 방식이 보편화되어 있으나, 늘어나는 전파무선기기에 의한 전파장해 및 간섭현상과 무엇보다 인체에 유해한 단점으로 의료용 장비에의 응용에는 부적합하다, 따라서 본 논문에서는 최근 빛을 이용한 무선telemetry에 대한 연구결과를 응용하여 피부투과성이 좋은 근적외광(Infra Red Light)을 이용한 광통신 방식으로 인공심장용 무선정보 전달장치를 구현하였다. 개발된 시스템의 성능은 인공 심장용 모의순환실험을 통해 평가되었으며 아울러 동물실험에서의 성능평가로 임상에의 응용가능성을 확인하였다.

생활폐기물 소각장 작업자의 작업환경과 작업복 현황 분석 (The Analysis of Actual State of Working Environment and Working Uniforms for Burning Waste Workers)

  • This study analyzes the actual state of the working uniforms worn by burning waste workers to protect their body from the hazardous environment. Directions for improvement of the clothing fabrics is also suggested. We visited and interviewed those persons who worked in the burning waste plant in Seoul and in Gyunggi Province. 245 workers were surveyed by questionnaires, and 211 workers out of 245 were statistically analyzed. Frequencies and percentages were calculated and $\chi$$^2$ test, ANOVA and Scheffe Post hoc comparison methods were utilized to test some hypothesis. The working uniforms were classified as four general types: separate type, disposable-coverall. overall, and winter clothes. At present, the working uniforms are not suitable for the conditions which they are used. There is a lack of ventilation and an inability to absorb perspiration limited elasticity, and the uniforms are prone to static shock. The degree of satisfaction varied significantly, based on the worker's educational background and main work. However, only a small percentage of workers interviewed were satisfied with the appearance and the fit of the present working uniforms. The working duration had a negative impact on the satisfaction of the worker. This results suggest that materials, colors, design and size of working clothes must be improved. The suggestions are as follows: Firstly. to use disposable non-woven fabrics finished to increase moisture regain. Secondly. to use the bad air permeability fabrics to protect the skin from absorbtion of harmful gases, flying dust, heavy metals, etc.

여름철 셀룰로오스 섬유 의복의 착용감에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Wear Sensation Cellulose Fabric in Summer)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the physiolosical responses and subjective wear sensation to the clothes with different cellulose composition. The experimental garments were four types of cellulosic fabrics, respectively composed of $100\%$-cotton, $100\%$-Rayon, cotton/Flax 85/15, and rayon/Flax 85/15 (weft blended), were sewn in blouses with half-length sleeves. Four healthy women were chosen for this experiment. The condition of the experimental room were in two environments: Temp., $25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, R.H. $60{\pm}3\%$ and Temp., $30{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, R.H. $70{\pm}3\%$, and air velocity was maintained at 0.25 m/sec. The results are as follows. 1) At $25^{\circ}C$, rayon blouse showed the pleasantest feeling because of its excellent humidity sensation and tactile sensation. At $30^{\circ}C$, rayon and flax blended blouse showed most comportable sensation. In both environments, blouse of $100\%$ cotton showed the least pleasant because of high vapor pressure inside the blouse and bad tactile sensation. 2) Vapor pressure inside the blouse and tactile sensation play the most impotant role in comfort. Consequantly the blouse made of $100\%$-cotton which bring low air permeability, moisture regain and water vapor permearbility showed more unpleastness than rayon blouse because it raises temperature, relative humidity and vapor pressure inside the blouse under the hot circumstances In the conditions with much sweat, rayon and flax blended blouse with high stiffness increases comfort better than $100\%$ rayon because the former prevents sticking to the skin.
