The performance evaluation technique of a heat exchanger is described by using a transient response analysis for the determination of an average heat transfer coefficient. The model using a finite difference method can accommodate arbitrary inlet fluid temperature as well as longitudinal conduction. Temperature histories are obtained from the experiments at the inlet and outlet of test core. Heat transfer coefficient and friction factor of the plate array are obtained in short times using the data reduction program of transient response analysis in the single-blow method. The results agree very well with theoretical results. It is shown that the rms deviations are very small and the performance evaluation technique gives rapid and accurate results.

User-based collaborative filtering is a method of recommending an item to a user based on the preference of the neighbor users who have similar purchasing history to the target user. User-based collaborative filtering is based on the fact that users are strongly influenced by the opinions of other users with similar interests. Item-based collaborative filtering is a method of recommending an item by comparing the similarity of the user's previously preferred items. In this study, we create a recommendation model using user-based collaborative filtering and item-based collaborative filtering with consumer's consumption data. Collaborative filtering is performed by using RFM (recency, frequency, and monetary) technique with purchasing data to recommend items with high purchase potential. We compared the performance of the recommendation system with the purchase amount and the performance when applying the RFM method. The performance of recommendation system using RFM technique is better.
Circadian rhythms in subjective alertness, mood, and performance can be classified as psychological rhythm, compared with physiological rhythm such as body temperature and hormonal change. While in normal condition entrained by 24hr zeitgeber, subjective alertness would reach its maximum value around midday, subjective alertness would parallel body temperature rhythm with its peak at evening in non-entrained, free-running state. With desynchronization technique, subjective alertness rhythm is thought to be controlled by both temperature and sleep-wake rhythm oscillator. Circadian performance rhythms depend on the kind of task tested. It shows parallelism with body temperature rhythm when subjects are tested with simple, repetitive task. But when tested with tasks requiring complex verbal reasoning or immediate memory, subjects would perform them best at early morning, with performance decreasing as time of day advances. The desynchronization technique shows that circadian performance rhythm of simple, repetitive task is dependent on temperature oscillator but circadian performance rhythm of complex verbal reasoning is influenced by both temperature and sleep-wake rhythm oscillator or another independent oscillator. It would be worthwhile to compare psychological rhythm with hormonal change such as cortisol and melatonin. And more simple and time-saving method than desynchronization technique may facilitate the study of the mechanism underlying psychological rhythm.

This study focuses on memory systems that are optimized to increase performance and energy efficiency in many embedded systems such as IoT, cloud computing, and edge computing, and proposes a performance improvement technique. The proposed technique improves memory system performance based on machine learning algorithms that are widely used in many applications. The machine learning technique can be used for various applications through supervised learning, and can be applied to a data classification task used in improving memory system performance. Data classification based on highly accurate machine learning techniques enables data to be appropriately arranged according to data usage patterns, thereby improving overall system performance.

Virtual Reality(VR) technology is an interface technology that is actively used in various audio-visual-based applications by showing users a virtual world composed of computer graphics. Since VR-based applications are graphic processing-based applications, expensive computing devices equipped with Graphics Processing Unit(GPU) are essential for graphic processing. This incurs a cost burden on VR application users for maintaining and managing computing devices, and as one of the solutions to this, a method of operating services in cloud environments is being used. This paper proposes a performance management technique to address the problem of performance interference between containers owing to GPU resource competition in container-based high-performance cloud environments in which multiple containers share a single GPU. The proposed technique reduces performance deviation due to performance interference, helping provide uniform performance-based remote VR services for users. In addition, this paper verifies the efficiency of the proposed technique through experiments.

In this paper, a synchronization control technique of dual-servo motor driven press system is proposed. An independent cascade PID control technique has been applied to the conventional press system for advancement of control stability. However, it is not easy to reduce synchronous error using the independent cascade PID control technique when some different load disturbances are involved in each motor. The eccentric error of the slide caused by the problem degrade the control performance of the BDC(Bottom Dead Center). In order to achieve reduction of the synchronous error between two servo motors and accurate position control simultaneously, a new control scheme comprised with cascade PID control loop and cross-coupling loop is proposed. In simulation using Matlab SIMULINK, the AC servo system is designed. The control performance of proposed technique is compared with conventional control technique to the model of AC servo system. Also, the sub-scale model of dual-servo motor driven press system which can replicate the slide motion is constructed for experimental verification for the performance of the proposed control technique. The cross-coupling control technique reveals more precise and stable performances in the position and synchronization controls.
Background: This study was conducted to apply active release techniques to male youth basketball players to help improve physical development and damage prevention and improve performance through improved balance and functional movement. Design: Randomized control trial. Methods: The subjects included 33 youth basketball players who were randomly assigned to the experimental group (n=17) and the control group (n=16). For the experimental group, the active release technique was applied to the hip muscles, calf muscles, posterior thigh muscles based on the distribution of injuries surveyed in youth basketball players in the Korean Basksetball League. The Y-balance test and the functional reach test (FRT) were used to assess balance and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) was used to assess functional movement. Interventions were conducted twice a week for 4 weeks at 40 minutes per session. The experimental group was the active release technique group, and static stretching, a common exercise therapy technique, and self-myofascial release using a foam roller were applied for 20 minutes. The control group received general exercise therapy and placebo active release technique. The placebo active release technique applies pressure only. results:The experimental group showed a greater improvement in balance, as evidenced by the FRT, compared to the control group, which received general exercise treatment. However, there was no statistically significant difference in improvement between the 2 groups. In the case of the experimental group, the difference in the Y balance test before and after the intervention was larger than that of the control group, but there was no statistically significant difference. Significant improvement was found in functional movement, as evidence by the FMS, for the trunk stability test (p < 0.05), in-line lunge test (p < 0.05), rotational stability test (p < 0.05), total score (p < 0.05). Conclusion: In this study, the active release technique improved the balance and functional movement of young basketball players more than general exercise therapy. The application of the active release technique is therefore expected to assist in physical development, prevent damage, and improve the performance of youth basketball players.
In this paper, we described the rapid initial alignment techniques of projectile navigation system for use in inclined launch systems. One-shot alignment technique, one of the rapid initial alignment techniques, is possible to align a navigation system within seconds because it uses external information from an launcher navigation system. However, since it has only been used in vertical launch systems, its performance in inclined launch systems has not been verified. Therefore, this paper analyzed the error elements that occur when the one-shot alignment technique is applied to the inclined launch system, and introduced a method to improve the alignment performance by minimizing those errors. Additionally, By simulating and testing the performance of the proposed alignment technique, it was verified that it is effective even in an environment where a real navigation system is used.

Cross eye technique was proposed as an angle deception jamming technique against monopulse radars. Tracking radars use monopulse or conical scan methods for angle estimation of a target. Thus, if we verify deception performance of cross eye technique against a conical scan radar, efficient jamming systems can be developed to disturb both monopulse radars and conical scan radars. In this paper, we propose a mathematical model for a conical scan radar and a cross eye system. Using the proposed model, angular deception performance of the cross eye technique against conical scan radar is analyzed.
