So far, the Taguchi Method has dealt with multiple quality characteristics under the assumption that they are independent. Since the relationships between quality characteristics are practically important, this study proposes a new performance measure considering the correlation among characteristics. In this paper, we impose weight on each characteristic and correlation among characteristics. The loss function of multiple characteristics is defined in accordance with combination of simple characteristic types, and it is divided into terms of loss that characteristic itself and the correlation among characteristics cause. And the proposed method uses the expected loss of multiple characteristics as the new performance measure. The data in literature are used to compare with the existing performance measures.

Though Quality Management(QM) is key determinant for corporate success as shown in Jappanese cases, however, its performance wasn't translated into the context of profitability, which is a good managerial means. Meanwhile the quality cost theory is a different attempt to measure the quality management performance with a financial scale, which doesnot have a reasonable measure. This study suggests a new approach to measure the performance of quality management using ABC(Activity-based Costing), and explains its usefulness with a case study.

This paper describe to extract speech measure algorithm for evaluating a speech database, and presents generating method of a speech quality measure using DNN(Deep Neural Network). In our previous study, to produce an effective speech quality measure, we propose a combination of various speech measures which are highly correlated with WER(Word Error Rate). The new combination of various types of speech quality measures in this study is more effective to predict the speech recognition performance compared to each speech measure alone. In this paper, we describe the method of extracting measure using DNN, and we change one of the combined measure from GMM(Gaussican Mixture Model) score used in the previous study to DNN score. The combination with DNN score shows a higher correlation with WER compared to the combination with GMM score.

Collaborative filtering is a fundamental technique implemented in many commercial recommender systems and provides a successful service to online users. This technique recommends items by referring to other users who have similar rating records to the current user. Hence, similarity measures critically affect the system performance. This study addresses problems of previous similarity measures and suggests a new similarity measure. The proposed measure reflects the subjectivity or vagueness of user ratings and the users' rating behavior by using fuzzy logic. We conduct experimental studies for performance evaluation, whose results show that the proposed measure demonstrates outstanding performance improvements in terms of prediction accuracy and recommendation accuracy.

Measuring similarity in collaborative filtering-based recommender systems greatly affects system performance. This is because items are recommended from other similar users. In order to overcome the biggest problem of traditional similarity measures, i.e., data sparsity problem, this study suggests a new similarity measure that is the optimal combination of previous similarity and the value reflecting the number of co-rated items. We conducted experiments with various conditions to evaluate performance of the proposed measure. As a result, the proposed measure yielded much better performance than previous ones in terms of prediction qualities, specifically the maximum of about 7% improvement over the traditional Pearson correlation and about 4% over the cosine similarity.

The use of different proxies to measure good corporate governance (GCG) may be a probable cause of the mixed results. Therefore, the application of a new single measure to enhance comparable empirical studies is required. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between corporate governance and firm's performance. This study involved all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2014 to 2016 through purposive sampling with specific criteria. out of 144 qualified companies, 110 companies could be processed because of completed data in the form of financial information from their financial statements during the research period. The data were obtained from the official websites of IDX. This study applies a new measure of the corporate governance: the efficiency of the GCG. The corporate governance is calculated by relating inputs of components of the corporate governance and outputs of sales, assets and firm equity capital. By using financial data from firms listed on the Indonesian Capital Market, this study finds that the corporate governance significantly improved firm's performance. More importantly, the study confirms and supports the new single measure of the GCG. This result is very important to avoid dealing with different indicators of the corporate governance.

ROK Navy Landing Ship Fast(LSF-II) is equipped with special equipment that is not compatible with other combat ships due to special missions. So there are almost no maintenance capabilities except for simple repair parts replacement and maintenance parts. The researcher determined that the way to solve these problems was to apply Performance Based Logistics (PBL), and reviewed the cases of PBL applications abroad and domestically. To confirm the current maintenance capability, we visited LSF-II operation unit to identify maintenance capabilities for each mounted equipment, and interviews with operators and maintenance practitioners confirmed the limitations of outsourcing maintenance and the need to apply PBL. In order to analyze the effect of PBL application, the measure of effectiveness and measure of performance were selected based on the opinions of LSF-II operation/maintenance practitioners and PBL experts and the practical experience of this researcher. A survey was conducted on operation/maintenance practitioners and professional personnel. Based on the survey results, the effect of applying PBL was analyzed using the AHP technique, and an efficient PBL application plan was proposed for LSF-II.

SCM as the important marketing strategy enhance the firm's efficiency and compatibility in global market environment such as global outsourcing. Firms adopted SCM realized the need to evaluate precisely the performance of SCM. In spite of importance of SCM, there was not much intention and research to measure SCM performance in textile fashion industry. Therefore, the purpose of this case study was to measure performance of supply chain management in textile fashion business using BSC(Balanced Score Card) to measure not only financial perspective but also non-financial perspectives such as customer perspective, internal business perspectives, financial perspective, and innovation & learning perspective. The questionnaire developed by the reviews of the literature was adopted for this study. The results of this study showed that SCM performance was enhanced from the point of customer perspective(cost, quality, time, service), financial perspective(cash cycle time, inventory turn over, inventory obsolescence, return on asset, return on investment, capacity utilization), and innovation & learning perspective(cost for human resource management, service for human resources). But there was same performance level regarding internal business perspective(lead time, cost for manufacturing process, product quality control, productive flexibility for time, quantity, and variety). Therefore, we should keep close relationship and two way communication among supply chain members to promote better SCM performance.

This paper explains the concept of Economic Value Added (EVA) that is gaining popularity in India. We also examine whether EVA is a superior performance measure, both for corporate disclosure and for internal governance. Of late, companies in India have started focusing on shareholders wealth creation by adopting value-based models for measuring shareholder value that helps to align managerial decision-making with the firm preferences. In recent years, the EVA framework is gradually replacing the 'traditional' measures of financial performance on account of its robustness and its immunity from 'creative' accounting. Even though some leading Indian companies have already joined the band wagon of their American counterparts in adapting the EVA-based corporate performance systems, many other are hesitating as there is no strong evidence that the EVA system works in India. Till now, EVA disclosures are "not mandatory for the Indian companies." Also, we examine the value-creation strategies of selected Indian companies by analyzing whether EVA better represents the market-value of these companies in comparison to conventional performance measures. The study indicates that "there is no strong evidence to support Stern Stewart's claim that EVA is superior to the traditional performance measures in its association with MVA." As part of this study, we have also extensively surveyed the EVA disclosures in the Annual Reports made by the same sample group of 500 corporations from India.

In this paper, we propose a new objective speech quality measure using noise masking threshold for speech quality assessment of mobile telephone network environments, and verify the effectiveness of the proposed method through the experiments. For such a purpose, well known objective speech quality measures such as BSD and PSQM are first evaluated for digital mobile telephone network environments. However, these conventional methods does not have good performance under mobile networks environments compared to literary results. To be mote effective objective speech quality measure under mobile telephone environments, the proposed method employs human psychoacoustic masking effect. The DMOS, instead of MOS, is used as a subjective speech quality measure for performance evaluation. The performance comparison are carried out with speech data collected from digital mobile telephone environments. As results, the proposed measure have and average 4% higher performance, in terms of correlation, than existing objective speech quality measures such as BSD and PSQM.
