This study aims to suggest a model of task development for mathematics performance assessment and to develop performance tasks for the fifth graders in the primary school on the basis of this model. In order to achieve these aims, the following inquiry questions were set up: (1) to develop open-ended tasks and projects for the fifth graders, (2) to develop checklists for measuring the abilities of mathematical reasoning, problem solving, connection, communication of the fifth graders more deeply when performance assessment tasks are implemented and (3) to examine the appropriateness of performance tasks and checklists and to modify them when is needed through applying these tasks to pupils. The consequences of applying some tasks and analysing some work samples of pupils are as follows. Firstly, pupils need more diverse thinking ability. Secondly, pupils want in the ability of analysing the meaning of mathematical concepts in relation to real world. Thirdly, pupils can calculate precisely but they want in the ability of explaining their ideas and strategies. Fourthly, pupils can find patterns in sequences of numbers or figures but they have difficulty in generalizing these patterns, predicting and demonstrating. Fifthly, pupils are familiar with procedural knowledge more than conceptual knowledge. From these analyses, it is concluded that performance tasks and checklists developed in this study are improved assessment tools for measuring mathematical abilities of pupils, and that we should improve mathematics instruction for pupils to understand mathematical concepts deeply, solve problems, reason mathematically, connect mathematics to real world and other disciplines, and communicate about mathematics.

Engle and Russell (1998) proposed the ACD(Autoregressive Conditional Duration) model to explain the relationship between the prices and the duration times of the stocks. In this paper, we first introduce the various types of the ACD models such as the linear ACD, log ACD and Box-Cox ACD models and we evaluate the performance of the models for analysing the transaction data of the stocks in Korea.

The vehicle handling performances have a close relation with the driver's safety. And the CAT(Computer aided testing) system has been introduced as a powerful tool for improving the handling performances. In this study, a CAT system for effectively measuring and analysing the handling performances is developed based on the windows GUI(Graphic user interface) environment. Especially, in order to derive a lot of significant handling performance parameters from a series of proving ground tests, the CAT system has various functions related to real time measurement, time domain analysis, frequency domain analysis, steady state analysis and so on.

In this paper, we describe the structure, function and the design factor of common module for KOMPSAT-2 OBC, which will be launched in 2005. By analysing OBC's performance, we can know the throughput and how much improve performance than KOMPSAT-l. it is used in the satellite mission design by system engineer. We verify the usefulness of common module for KOMPSAT-2 OBC through environment test.

The automated construction machines have been recently developed to help solve the construction industry problems that significantly affect labour, productivity, quality, and profit. Despite the importance of performance analysis to commercialize the automated construction machines, previous studies have mainly concentrated on developing hardware and software of automated construction machines. This research now focuses on two objectives: (1) to propose an analysis model which can measure productivity, quality, and safety improvement rate of automated construction machines based on research and development (R&D); and (2) to develop a performance analysis system which will aid the evaluator in analysing the performance of automated construction machines. Finally, it is anticipated that the effective use of the performance analysis model and computerized system will ably develop the high-performance, automated construction machines and establish the marketing strategy to increase not only the commercial value but also the upkeep and development of construction machines.

The STIR(Signal Tracking & Illumination Radar) in KDX(Korean Destroyer Experimental) combat system acquires target from designating 3-D target information of surveillance radar (MW-08), and The performance of radar is decided by target acquisition time and accuracy of tracking loop because the STIR tracks automatically in accordance with tracking algorithm. In the view of ship, elements related with target acquisition time of the STIR can be various. In this paper the target acquisition time of the STIR is reduced by identifying the elements and suggesting the performance improvement method. The way of performance improvement is suggested through analysing main affecting factors. First, tracking algorism is required for analysis. Second, fitness of parameters that control elements related with acquisition distance is analyzed. And the third, accuracy of ship based sensors is analyzed. In conclusion, acquisition time against ship target can be advanced to 3 seconds from 10 seconds.

The purpose of this study is to analyse statistically the relation between medical service quality and managerial performance. And then the way of analysis is the regression analysis that independent variable is service quality, dependent variable is the volume of revenue, the number of patients and the rate of beds utility, and dummy variable is the number of beds, ownership and region. The sample hospitals were the 113 hospitals on general hospitals more than 300beds which were consisted of 20 public hospitals, 41 corporate hospitals and 52 college hospitals, and also distributed 67 hospitals on big city and 46 hospitals other city. The sample hospitals were selected from the Korean Hospital Association and the data of the year 2003 and 2004. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSSWIN 10.0 version, and the study hypothesis was tested using regression analysis. The findings of this study are summarized as follows. First, as a result of analysing hypothesis 1. In the study of the relationship between the service quality and the revenue, it was verified that the more service quality in last year became the more revenue in the year. But the dummy variable, ownership and region, rarely related to hospital revenue. Therefore it means that the more service quality is connected to the more revenue on the large number of beds hospitals. Second, as a result of analysing hypothesis 2 & 3. In the study of the relationship between the service quality and the number of patients, it was verified that the more service quality in last year became the more outpatients in the year. But there was no verified to inpatients. It seems to be the reason why a hospital has operated the fixed number of beds approved by the public office. So there are no free to expand beds according to the number of inpatients as much as inpatients are increasing. Third, as a result of analysing hypothesis 4 & 5. In the study of the relationship between the service quality and the rate of beds utility, it was verified that the more service quality in last year became the shorter of average stay of length in the year. Especially it has influenced much more on a hospital which was the large number of beds, the corporate and the college, but the region. But it was denied that the more service quality became the more the beds turnover. As a result of this study, it shows that the service quality in the last year has importantly influenced on a hospital managerial performance in the year. Estimating the service quality of each hospital, most patients have selected the hospital they want. And the hospital need to keep the number of patients for the proper management. So this result of the study means that a hospital must improve the service quality for keeping efficient management.

This empirical research examines the effects of organizational service-orientation on business performance such as employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction and financial performance comprehensively. The service-orientation has been considered very importantly for delivering excellent service quality and customer value in many existing studies. Also service type's arbitrating effects on the relationship between service-orientation factors and business performance are investigated in this research. The data were collected from employees in hospitals and fast-foods with the questionnaire. And the several statistical methods were used for analysing. Consequently we could find that the comprehensive service-orientation factors gave the significant effects on the business performance. And service type's arbitrating effects sere apparent. It was revealed that the customization of service package and the customers' influence on service process must be considered as the important variables which have the significant effects on business performance.

This study develops a scientific method in pilot selection by analysing a divided attention performance between the successful pilots and the failures in a flight training course. To measure the divided attention performance, Dual Task Method is used in which the primary task is a tracking task while the secondary tasks are, 1. short-term memory task 2. choice reaction task 3. judgement task. Result shows that the performance of the pilots is significantly better (p < 0.1) than that of the failures in divided attention performance. In addition, the differences in the divided attention performance between the two groups are increased in proportion to the difficulty of the task and especially in the short term memory, the increment is most dramatic.
