The Influence of Women Dental Hygienists' Work - Family Balance on Happiness Level in Dental Clinics

  • Background: To identify work-family balance and level of happiness among married women dental hygienists in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The goal of this study is to use the outcome as basic data to determine the compatibility of dental hygienists with work and family, systems, and improvement of happiness levels. Methods: From July 3 to August 10, 2020, 250 dental hygienists in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were targeted. The questionnaire comprised 65 questions, including general characteristics (perception of work-family balance, perception of work-family balance system, job satisfaction, parenting type, happiness level) whether or not they were implemented. The results were obtained through a self-control questionnaire. Results: The perception of work-family balance was significantly different in job rank and average income, while that of the work-family balance system had significant differences in workplace type, total work experience, current job work experience, childcare system status, and parental leave period. Happiness level and job satisfaction were significantly different in job rank, average income, and childcare system status. Additionally, the perception of work-family balance and that of the work-family balance system showed a positive correlation with job satisfaction and happiness level. Finally, the perception of married women dental hygienists toward work-family compatibility was determined, where the higher the satisfaction with the job, the higher the level of happiness. Conclusion: To improve the work-family balance and job satisfaction of dental hygienists and their levels of happiness, changes in social perception and improvement of the working environment such as proper staffing, flexible work systems, and incentive systems should be considered.

상관색온도별 LED 조명의 조광 감소에 따른 재실자의 밝기 변화 인식 및 시각적 불편함에 관한 연구 (Subjective Evaluation of Brightness Perception and Visual Discomfort by Illuminance Reduction for Different CCT LED Lights)

  • This study conducted a subjective evaluation of brightness perception and visual discomfort according to dimming speeds and CCTs(Correlated Color Temperatures). Dimming speeds of two different CCT lights(2,700K, 6400K) were set to 1.7%/s, 3.3%/s, 5.0%/s, 6.7%/s, and 10.0%/s respectively. Subjects checked the time when they perceived the change of the brightness and visual discomfort. As a result, when dimming speeds were 1.7%/s, 3.3%/s, 5.0%/s, 6.7%/s, more than half of subjects responded the change of the brightness in 55.0~45.0% dimming ratios, and felt the visual discomfort in 35~25% dimming ratios. When the brightness was changed, dimming level responded to the brightness perception of hight CCT(6,400K) was higher about 8.0% then dimming level responded to the brightness perception of low CCT(2,700K). Dimming level responded to the visual discomfort of low CCT(2,700K) was higher about 5.0% then dimming level responded to the visual discomfort of hight CCT(6,400K).

위험인식의 특성과 의미: 한국인의 기술위험 인지도에 대한 Psychometric 분석 (A Study on Risk Perception and Policy Implication : A Psychometric Analysis of Korean Perception for Technological Risks)

  • A survey of risk perception in South Korea was conducted in 2007 to evaluate relative riskiness of typical industrial and technological risks. This article summarizes the characteristics of risk perception using psychometric analyses. The survey with a sample size of 1,194 reviews the perceived level of 25 risk items in the areas of transportation, chemicals, environment, industry, nuclear power generation, and newly-introduced risks. Six categories of risk identified by a factor analysis show that the level of perceived risk does not correspond to the statistical level. Psychometric analyses including voluntariness, severity, effect manifestation, exposure pattern, controllability, familiarity, benefit and necessity demonstrate that voluntary, familiar and immediate risks are perceived as less risky than involuntary, unfamiliar and delayed ones. Risk communication is critical in reducing the discrepance between objective and subjective level of risk. However, the amount of risk information does not always justify a successful risk communication. A safety policy, risk communication strategy in particular, should take into account diverse dimensions of risk reviewed by psychometric analyses in the study. Social policy toward safety can be improved by integrating policy, human, and social factors as well as technological advances.

전문 발 관리실 이용자의 발 반사요법 인식수준 및 관련요인 (Perception Level of Foot Reflex Therapy and Its Related Factors among Customers using Foot Care Service Centers)

  • 본 연구는 발 반사마사지를 받는 이용자들의 발 반사요법에 대한 인식수준을 알아보고 그에 관련된 요인을 규명하고자 2011년 09월 01일부터 10월 30일까지의 기간 동안에 대전지역에 소재하고 있는 전문 발 관리실 3곳의 이용자 181명을 대상으로 구조화된 자기기입식 설문지를 이용한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 전체 조사대상자의 발 반사마사지요법 인식수준에 대한 평균점수는 $32.19{\pm}5.32$점(11개 항목의 점수범위; 0-44점)으로 나타났으며, 일반적 특성별 발 반사마사지요법 인식수준은 학력이 높을수록 유의하게 높았다(p=0.020). 조사대상자의 발 반사마사지 요법에 대한 태도 및 실천도에 따른 발 반사마사지요법 인식수준은 "질병치유를 위해서 한다"는 군에서(p=0.034), 발 반사마사지 시작 시 "질병이 있었다"는 군에서(p=0.030). 발 마사지 이용기간이 길수록(p=0.000), 발 반사마사지를 타인에게 "권유 하겠다"는 군에서 유의하게 높았다(p=0.004). 다중회귀분석 결과 발 반사마사지요법 인식수준에 영향을 미치는 관련요인으로는 발 반사마사지 이용 이유, 발 반사마사지 시작 시 건강상태, 발 반사마사지 이용기간 및 발 반사마사지의 타인에의 권유여부가 유의한 변수로 선정되었으며 이들 변수에 대한 설명력은 26.1%이었다. 위와 같은 결과를 볼 때, 전문 발 관리실 이용자들의 발 반사마사지요법 인식수준은 일반적 특성 변수들보다는 발 반사마사지에 대한 태도 및 실천도를 설명하는 변수들과 관련성이 높은 것을 알 수 있었다.

조부모 의복행동에 대한 청소년의 지각이 조부모에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Adolescent’s Perception of Grandparent’s Clothing Behavior on their Attitude toward the Grandparent.)

  • The purposes of this study were to identify the adolescent’s perception to grandparent’s clothing behavior, the effect of grandparent’s clothing behavior on the attitudes toward their grand parents, and the variables related to the adolescent’s attitudes toward their grandparent affecting grandparent’s clothing behavior. The results of this study may provide the foundations for the continuing family educational material to promote the grandparent-grandchildren relationship. Questionnaires were distributed to middle and high school students in Chonbuk Province through school teachers from June 9th 18th. 1999. and 485 questionnaires were analysed. Frequencies percentages, factor analysis. Cronbach’s a. t-test, F-test. and Duncan’s Multiple Range test were used for data analysis. The results were as follows: 1. The adolescent’s perception level of grandparent’s clothing behavior was higher when grandparents were younger. healthier and wealthier. in separate living status. and in case of younger and more female adolescents. In case of separate living status. the adolescent’s perception level was higher when grandparent and adolescent contacted frequently. 2. The adolescent’s perception level of grandparent’s clothing behavior was favorable when their total attitude toward grandparent was positive, especially in economic, intellectual. personality, and family relation aspects. 3. The effects of the perception of grandparent’s clothing behavior on the adolescent attitude toward their grandparent were higher in case of grandmother. female adolescent. and separate living status, less educated. and in worse health status grandparent.

급식소 HACCP 관리항목에 대한 영양사의 중요성 인지도 평가 (Evaluation of Dietitians' Perception of Importance about HACCP Guidelines in Foodservice Facilities)

  • The purpose of the study was to evaluate the perception of importance about HACCP guidelines of dietitians. A questionnaire was developed to achieve research objectives and sent to random samples of 500 dietitians by a mail ; 418(84%) responses were analyzed. The respondents used three-point-scale to rate their perception of importance about HACCP from 1-"will be necessary" to 3-"very important". All statistical analyses were conducted using SAS package(version 8.12) for Windows. Means and standard deviations were computed for all variables. One-way analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test were used to assess differences in the perception of importance about HACCP guidelines among business and industry, health care and school foodservice managers. The study results were summarized as follows. Dietitians especially had lower perception of importance on the contents of Critical Control Points(CCPs), such as; adequate thawing methods and keeping records(1.95) and correct cleaning and sterilizing for raw vegetables and fruits(1.93). The rates of perception of importance about HACCP guidelines were significantly different from 19 of the 37 contents among business and industry, health care and school foodservice(p<.05 or p<.01 or p<.001). Generally, the item related to purchasing and inspection management had the highest perception level score and the item related to pre-preparation management had the lowest perception level score in foodservice production process(p<.001). Results indicate that there is a need for increased education of dietitians about HACCP principles and appropriate practices.

Visual Perception Characteristics of Surface Unevenness - Focused on Orange Peel Effect -

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify visual perception of and satisfaction with the orange peel effect of surface. The orange peel effect is a type of finish on painted or coated surface. Background: Gloss paint sprayed on a smooth surface (such as car body, smart phone, and electric home appliances, etc.) should also dry into a smooth surface. Then, a surface resembling the texture of an orange peel can be caused by some factors. The orange peel effect can degrade user's satisfaction with a product. Method: Visual perception and emotional satisfaction were subjectively evaluated using Likert scale. The significance of orange peel effect on visual perception and satisfaction were then analyzed by the analysis of variance. The correlation between visual perception and satisfaction was also analyzed. Results: Surface roughness significantly influenced visual perception and emotional satisfaction. The level of visual perception increased and emotional satisfaction decreased with the increase of orange peel effect. Emotional satisfaction decreased with the increase of visual perception level. Conclusion: It was identified that orange peel phenomenon on surface was a very important factor for emotional satisfaction. The orange peel effect on the surface of a product should be minimized to improve the emotional satisfaction of the product. Application: The result of this study can be applied to the texture design of the body of a car, smart phones, and electric home appliances, etc.

운율 패턴, 강도, 신호대소음비에 따른 문장 지각 변화 (Perception of sentences varying with prosody pattern, sound intensity, and signal-to-noise ratio)

  • This study investigates how perception of easy sentences varies with prosody pattern, sound intensity, and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) in young adults with normal hearing who were in their 20's. The results showed that the presence of proper prosody pattern in the sentences increased correct perception rate of the target sentences, and that the lower the intensity and SNR, the lower the sentence perception scores. The results also showed that SNR had a greater effect on the sentence perception scores than sound intensity. There was a significant decrease of perception scores starting at the level of 15 dB and +3 SNR for the sentences with prosody pattern, while starting at the level of 18 dB and +6 SNR for the sentences without prosody pattern, ending up with a very poor perception score as sound intensity and SNR gets lower. There was a significant difference in the perception score of the sentences with prosody pattern between 20 year-old group and 21 year or older group in several listening conditions of sound intensity and SNR.

대학생소비자의 인터넷탐색가치유형과 인터넷쇼핑에 대한 혜택-위험 지각정도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Level of Perception to Internet Shopping′ Benefit - Risk in Relation to the Internet Searching Value Types of College Student Consumers)

  • This study explored the Internet searching values(utilitarian searching value and hedonic searching value) of college student consumers, typed the Internet searching values to four types, and analysed the level of perception to Internet shopping' benefit-risk according to the Internet searching value types. The subjects were 361 college students. We used Cronbach'$\alpha$, multiple regression, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe' test as statistical analysis. The results were summarized as follows : 1) According to the Internet searching values, college student consumers were classified into 4 types - high utilitarian/high hedonic type, high utilitarian/low hedonic type, low utilitarian/high hedonic type, and low utilitarian/low hedonic type. 2) Both high utilitarian/high hedonic type and low utilitarian/high hedonic type had high level of perception to Internet shopping' benefit-risk.

광원(光源)의 색온도(色溫度)·연색성(演色性) 및 휘도(輝度)레벨이 시지각(視知覺) 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Electric Lamp on Visual Perception)

  • This paper deals with the effects of fluorescent lamp description and luminance level on the occupant's brightness perception and other sensation in building interiors. The following experiments were conducted: the subjects compared on room lit by daylight fluorescent lamps with the other room lit by the different lamp description at equal luminance at equal luminance level. The degree of that effect decreased with a rise in luminace level. The brightness perception had high correlation with the visual clarity and no correlation with favorite sensation.
