In the present exploration we identified perception of forest dependent communities in relation to impact of climate change on forest ecosystem in and around Chilapatta reserve forest in northern part of West Bengal, India. Purposive sampling method was used for selection of area and random sampling method was used for selection of respondent. The data collection in this study was through questionnaire based personal in-depth interviews. Almost all the respondents (94%) were farmers and rest had occupation other than farming. Almost all the respondents perceived negative impact of climate change on forest though the level of perception varies from very low to medium (0.23-0.52) based on average perception score after assigning score to individual statements. The level of perception on impact of climate change on forest ecology and forest flora of the community is low and very low as the average perception score is 0.39 and 0.23, respectively while, it is medium (0.52) for forest fauna. Alternately their perception on decreased stream/river flow and quick drying of seasonal streams or water bodies is based on their livelihood experience as they depend on these for their domestic and irrigation water use and fish catch for family diet.
Purpose: This research aimed to identify levels of nurses' perception and practice of fluid intake and output (I & O) measurement and to explore the relationship between perception and practice of it. Methods: Using a cross-sectional survey design, 195 nurses who practiced fluid I & O measurement were recruited from a general hospital. Nurses who agreed to participate in this study completed a structured study questionnaire to assess their levels of perception and practice of fluid I & O measurement. Results: A level of perception of I & O measurement was high (3.46 points out of 5), and scores for 3 subdomains of I & O (importance, accuracy, and efficacy) were evenly high. The level of practice of I & O was fairly high (3.76 points out of 5). Perception and practice of I & O were highly correlated (r=.73, p<.001). Conclusion: Nurses seem to have higher levels of perception and do practice fluid I & O measurement correctly. In order to have reliable and valid I & O measures, nurses need to have continuous education on I & O measurement based on clinical guideline to utilize it as an invaluable clinical instrument.

The purpose of this study was to enhance soldiers' oral health level and to offer basic data on controlling and preventing halitosis. It surveyed halitosis-related elements and analyzed relationship between subjective self-perception level of halitosis according to it targeting 253 soldiers in their 20s in some areas of Seoul from September 2012 to October. Thus, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. As for subjects' self-perception of halitosis, the perception status of oral health was indicated to be 'very bad' and to be shown most highly in one place. It was indicated to be high in the group of feeling Xerostomia much and the group of often feeling the white membrane of tongue. The statistically significant difference was shown(p<0.01). 2. Subjects' self-perception of halitosis was indicated to be the highest in the group with the largest intake of snacks. It was shown to be the highest in the group of having sinus infection and rhinitis. It was indicated to be the highest in the group of having a habit of oral respiration. Significant difference was shown(p<0.05). 3. Subjects' self-perception of halitosis was indicated to be lower in the group, which ever received oral health education, than the group in opposite case. Significant difference was shown(p<0.05).
The purpose of this study was to investigate the levels of risk perception characteristics for food risk elements using a psychometric paradigm from 298 university students in Yeungnam region, Korea, by a self-administered questionnaire. The respondents showed the highest level of risk concern about radioactive contaminated foods and the lowest level about GM (genetically modified) foods. In the risk perception characteristics for food risk elements, they perceived radioactive contaminated foods as a catastrophic, worried, new, and uncontrollable risk. In addition, they regarded food additives and foodborne illness as a chronic, controllable, old, and scientifically and individually known risk. According to the results of the factor analysis for risk perception characteristics, dread and unknown were categorized. In the risk perception map, mad cow disease, heavy metal contaminated foods, and radioactive contaminated foods were considered as a dreaded and unknown risk, whereas pesticide residues and GM foods were perceived as a less dreaded and unknown risk. Additionally, food additives and foodborne illness were regarded as a less dreaded and known risk and endocrine disruptors and avian influenza as a dreaded and known risk. These results imply that risk perception characteristics of consumers should be considered to establish strategies for risk communication in food science.

The aim of this study is to analyze the consumers perception of price and the economic benefit of shopping at the various discount-stores. We found that there is a significant difference between the real price level of discount-stores and the firms purporting discount level of their commodities. We also, found that there is a bias between the consumers perception of their monetary profit and the actual economic benefit. It's recommended that consumers should give objective judgement on price level of discount-stores and appreciate rationally the exact profit for them to take the advantage in their everyday life. To increase consumer welfare, it's desirable to improve labeling system on retail prices and regulations on distribution industry as well as the consumers perception of price and their profit level as mentioned above. Additionally, it should be followed that the business side build the consumer-oriented management system.

Existing loudness models are specified only to diotic sounds in spite of the fact that normal human beings hear dichotic sounds. Approximately, the arithmetic mean of loudness values of both ear signals has been suggested for the resultant perceived loudness. In this study, the dependence of overall loudness perception on the interaural level differences was investigated by the subjective tests. It was found that the larger the interaural level difference, the louder the perception than the mean of calculated loudness values at both ears and the lower the critical band rate or the reference level, the louder the perception than the mean value. A modified loudness model was proposed to he applicable to dichotic sounds by using the equivalent diotic levels.
This study analyzed domestic consumers' perceptions of and participation in consumer boycotts and its relation to ethical consumerism by surveying 1,000 people aged 20 or more with an on-line questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed in terms of frequency, factor analyses, cluster analysis, ${\chi}^2$, and one-way analysis of variance. The research findings are summarized as follows. First, consumers had an average (or higher) perception level of consumer boycotts and were categorized into consumer boycott groups of pursuit of self-realization, achievement of results, and pursuit of rationality according to perception patterns of consumer boycotts. Second, the consumer boycott group of self-realization exhibited a high intention for participation in economic and ethical consumer boycotts and was active in all aspects compared to other groups; in addition, the consumer boycott group of results achievement was in the lowest level of ethical consumerism with a low intention for participation in consumer boycotts and ethical consumer boycotts along with the lowest perception level for consumer boycotts as ethical consumption. The consumer boycott group of rational pursuit was comparatively skeptical about the influence of consumer boycotts and with a low level of deontological ethical consumerism. They had additional doubts about the effectiveness of consumer boycotts despite being active participants. The study contributes to the establishment of an ethical consumer behavior theory by investigating connections between the perception patterns of and participation in consumer boycotts as well as ethical consumerism as consumer boycotts conceptually expand as a form of ethical consumption.
