절연층에 삽입된 실리콘 나노와이어 유연소자의 특성

  • 본 연구에서는 절연막에 삽입시킨 실리콘 나노와이어 유연소자를 제작하고 그 소자의 전기적 특성을 분석하여 유연소자로서의 적합성을 평가하였다. 최근 반도체 및 디스플레이 등이 다양한 현장에 응용되면서 유연성을 이용한 소자의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 요구를 바탕으로 나노와이어를 유연소자에 적용시키기 위하여 삽입방법을 이용하여 field-effect transistor(FET) 소자를 제작하였다. 유연소자의 기판으로는 polyimide(PI) 및 poly(ethylene 2,6 naphtahalate)(PEN)을 사용하였고, 절연막은 poly-4-vinylphenol(PVP)을 이용하였으며 이때, 나노와이어는 무전해 식각법으로 합성한 실리콘 나노와이어를 사용하였다. 이렇게 제작된 유연소자를 휨 상태 및 삽입된 정도에 따른 전기적 특성을 비교하였고 휨 테스트를 통하여 소자의 안정성을 분석하였다. 전기적 특성은 I-V 측정을 통하여 Ion/Ioff ratio, 이동도, subthreshold swing, threshold voltage값 등을 평가하였다.

Arrayed Tip based Pattern Lithography with Built-in Capacitive Proximal Leveling Sensor (내장형 정전용량 근접 센서를 이용한 다중 팁 기반 패턴 인쇄)

  • To increase the throughput of tip-based nanolithography (TBN), one approach is to use a large array of such tips working in parallel. It is important to maintain co-planarity between the tip array and the writing surface. A slight misalignment can cause large discrepancies of contact force and feature sizes. We report a capacitive proximity sensor built-in with the TBN array for leveling an arrayed polymer pen array. The device allows alignment between an array of writing tips and the writing substrate without contact and contamination. The angular sensitivity of the sensor is $0.05^{\circ}$ for an array with maximum tip-to-tip separation of 100 mm.

(Context-based Annotation for Pen Input Device Environment) (펜 입력 장치 환경을 고려한 컨텍스트 기반 Annotation)

  • Annotation is used for inscribing personal opinion, explanation, and summary. Various methods for processing annotation efficiently in digital document environments are being studied. However, previous studies placed much emphasis on function of annotation, so either they did not support Intuitive paper-based input interface or the systems that support it still have low reusability problems, because relation between annotation and original document are not explicit. Thus, in our study, we define context-based annotation modeling for digital document environments, and suggest annotation interface based on the modeling. To design annotation model, we define annotation types, context information of document, and relationship between annotation and original document. Also, a system based on the modeling is implemented to support pen-based annotation and annotation DTD. As a result, unlike previous studies, it is possible to explicitly define context-based annotation in pen-based input environments. We present various functions using the modeling and various possibilities of application.

Daily Reporting System using Digital Pen at Construction Site (디지털펜 기반의 건설현장 작업일보시스템 개발)

  • The daily report includes the most detailed information and various daily planning and performance data recorded at a site, and includes work types, the number of workers, and the equipment and materials used. However, in the daily reporting process, some information can be omitted or distorted or even made redundant due to there being several steps of manual input. For this reason, the daily report is utilized for a simple report rather than for an appropriate purpose. Thus, to resolve the issues of the existing daily report system mentioned above, a daily report system using a digital pen was developed and then applied to an actual construction site to verify its applicability. As a result, it was found that 96.610% recognition accuracy of handwritten letters could be achieved. In addition, it was no longer necessary to enter the same information multiple times and no additional training or education for using a mobile device was needed. The digital pen-based daily report program developed in this study is expected to contribute to an improvement of information management efficiency and site document management work by addressing the problems of the existing report system.

  • 재래의 TV의 경우 채널변경, 볼륨조절 등의 비교적 간단한 조작만이 필요했던 반면 앞으로 보편화될 인터랙티브 TV는 부가기능의 다양화로 좀더 복잡한 인터렉션을 요구한다. 인터렉티브 TV조작에 사용되는 기술은 트랙볼이나 조이스틱 같은 포인팅 디바이스를 리모콘에 부착하는 방법, 키보드를 이용한 입력, 팜탑 컴퓨터, 음성입력 등 다양한 방법이 있다. 본 논문에서는 초음파센서를 이용한 새로운 입력장치인 소나팬(SonarPen)에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

Design of Internal Coupling Structure for Touch Panel Devices Using Optical Coupling of a Pen-Shaped Light Source with Optical Waveguides (광원을 내장한 펜의 출력광과 광 도파로의 광 결합을 이용하는 터치 패널 장치의 내부 광 결합 구조 설계)

  • In this paper, an optical touch panel device is newly proposed, with operating principle based on the optical coupling between a pointing pen having a built-in light source and perpendicularly crossed optical waveguide arrays. In order to enable an external light to couple into a waveguide core, the auxiliary pyramidal structures are introduced into all intersecting points located periodically along optical waveguides. The shape is optimized for minimizing the unwanted propagation loss due to the same structure by a ray tracing method. For the optical waveguide with the size of $50{\times}50{\mu}m^2$, the bottom width, height, and slope angle of the optimized pyramidal structure are $50{\mu}m$, $22.5{\mu}m$, and $42^{\circ}$, respectively. The optical coupling efficiency of about 97.8% and the average propagation loss of 0.3 dB/mm were achieved for the optimized touch panel. Finally, it is found from the tolerance analysis that tilting of the pen up to ${\pm}12^{\circ}$ can be allowed.

Development of Inspection System for Transparent Pattern of the Electromagnetic Resonance Pen (전자펜 입력용 투명패턴 검사장치 개발)

  • To produce an input device stably using the transparent electromagnetic pattern of an electromagnetic induction method, pattern inspection is required in advance in the production process. Various methods of inspecting the capacitive pattern for hand-touch have been proposed, but it is difficult to find the related technical data for the pattern inspection method of the transparent electromagnetic induction method. In this study, to develop an inspection system for a fused electromagnetic resonance pen sensor with a copper-etched metal mesh pattern, an inspection algorithm and method for measuring the antenna impedance inside the sensor was proposed by measuring only the exposed FPCB connector. The proposed method was configured as a control board consisting of a microprocessor that forms a loop between specific channels according to the command of a computer, a computer-controlled by the Windows program, an LCR meter measuring the impedance between specific channels, and transmitting the measurement results back to the computer. An evaluation of the proposed system and measurements of nine specimens showed that it could detect the defects of the sensor used in the actual product.

  • PDA(Personal Digital Assistants) and laptop computer that are small sized mobile implements are typical devices which capable of using wireless internet. They seem to have a tendency to possess multi-function as well as to miniaturize in accordance with taking advantage of today's digital convergence circumstance. It should be considered that the pointing input device of these mobile computer that have PDA size and laptop's performance has to be added to something very small instead of 4-button, 5-button navigator and with the electric pen. The basic framework for this study is to investigate the usability of the two input devices Trackpoint and Touchpad which regarded as a alternative pointing device for small sized mobile computer. 14 novice subjects compared a Trackpoint to a Touchpad across five curser-control tasks. The study found that subjects executed not more slowly with a Trackpoint input device than with the Touchpad. Observation shows that learning for Trackpoint appears to have had more than for the Touchpad. Subjects expressed preference for the Trackpoint in general work.

Verification of Bonding Force between PVP Dielectric Layer and PDMS for Application of Flexible Capacitive-type Touch Sensor with Large Dynamic Range (넓은 다이내믹 레인지의 유연 촉각센서 적용을 위한 PVP 유전층과 PDMS 접착력 검증)

  • In this paper, we fabricate arrayed-type flexible capacitive touch sensor using liquid metal (LM) droplets (4 mm spatial resolution). Poly-4-vinylphenol (PVP) layer is used as a dielectric layer on the electrode patterned Polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) film. Bonding tests between hydroxyl group (-OH) on the PVP film and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) are conducted in a various $O_2$ plasma treatment conditions. Through the tests, we can confirm that non-$O_2$ plasma treated PVP layer and $O_2$ plasma treated PDMS can make a chemical bond. To measure dynamic range of the device, one-cell experiments are conducted and we confirmed that the fabricated device has a large dynamic range (~60 pF).

Single-Crystal Organic Semiconductor Nanowires as Building Blocks for Nanojunction Devices

  • Well-aligned nanowire arrays can be used as building blocks for nanoscale device. Recently, we reported that well-aligned single-crystal organic nanowires has been created by using a direct printing method which is named liquid-bridge mediated nanotransfer molding (LB-nTM). Moreover, multi-layering nanostructures can be fabricated by repeating this printing process. As a result, it is possible to make simple and basic concept of heterojunction devices such as crossed nanowire devices. We fabricated crossed single-crystal organic nanowires nanojunction devices from 6,13-bis (triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-PEN) and fullerene (C60) single-crystal nanowires using by direct printing method in solution process. Crossed TIPSPEN/ C60 single-crystal nanowires diode has rectifying behavior with on/off ratios of ~13. In addition, the device shows photodiode characteristics as well as rectification. Our study represent methodology of heterojunction devices using single-crystal nanowires, thereby provide a new direction of future nanoelectronics.
