The study on the actual conditions of bulling and the psychosocial factors affecting bullying behavior (중학생의 따돌림 가해 실태 및 심리사회적 요인)

  • Bullying behavior problems among middle school students have been increasing and being severe social problem. Therefore, on the basis of ecosystematic perspective, this study proposed the psychosocial factors that have various subsystems, such as individual level, family level, school level. Purposes of this study are to grasp the actual conditions of bulling and to examine psychosocial factors affecting bullying behavior of middle school students. For this study, surveyed were those 354 students who indicated they experienced bullying. The findings are as follows: Firstly, 49.2% of surveyed youth has the bullying offending experience. In detail, 26.7% of the bullies is estrangement from relations, 41.9% is verbal teasing, 18.2% is physical teasing. Secondly, the most important psychosocial factors to influence bullying behavior has been found the factors from the school. In the next place, from the individual. The prior factors that have relative influencing power on the bullying behavior are in order as follows- experience as victims of bullying and witness to bullying, aggression, peer group's exposure to delinquency, emotional unrest among sub-type borderline features, self-esteem, peer aggregation, a marital discord.

Efficient Data Publishing Method for Protecting Sensitive Information by Data Inference (데이터 추론에 의한 민감한 정보를 보호하기 위한 효율적인 데이터 출판 방법)

  • Recent research on integrated and peer-to-peer databases has produced new methods for handling various types of shared-group and process data. This paper with data publishing, where the publisher needs to specify certain sensitive information that should be protected. The proposed method cannot infer the user's sensitive information is leaked by XML constraints. In addition, the proposed secure framework uses encrypt to prevent the leakage of sensitive information from authorized users. In this framework, each node of sensitive data in an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) document is encrypted separately. All of the encrypted data are moved from their original document, and are bundled with an encrypted structure index. Our experiments show that the proposed framework prevents information being leaked via data inference.

Factors Affecting the Experience of Dual Use of Conventional and heat-not-burn Tobacco among Adolescents with Smoking Experience: 14th(2018) Korean Youth Risk Behavior Survey (흡연경험이 있는 청소년들의 일반담배와 가열담배의 복합흡연경험 영향요인: 제14차 청소년건강행태조사를 기반으로)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to understand the factors affecting the dual smoking experience of conventional and heat-not-burn tobacco among adolescents with smoking experience. Methods: The study selected 8,691 people with experience in smoking. Data analysis used SPSS 25.0. Logistic regression was performed to identify the factors affecting the dual smoking experience. Results: In this study, the dual smoking experience rate of conventional and heat-not-burn tobacco was 16.3%. The dual smoking experience rate was 5.09 times higher than the number of smokers among friends. The lower the smoking age, the higher the smoking rate, and the longer the smoking days, the higher the dual smoking rate of heat-not-burn cigarettes. Conclusion: We need a peer-to-peer group arbitration program rather than a separate anti-smoking arbitration program for smokers.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the characteristics of using new words, ability to use new words, and peer popularity among students with mild intellectual disabilities and general students of the age-matched group. A total of 8 students, 4 students with mild intellectual disabilities aged 14 to 16 years of age and 4 normal students in the age-matched group, were compared between groups using a nonparametric test. In the case of new words, 60 new words were selected through expert content validity among 301 new words, and then recognition and background information on the 60 new words were collected. As a result of the study, first, there was a significant difference in understanding of new words between the student group with mild intellectual disability and the general student group of the same age. Second, the correlation between the use of new words and the popularity of peers was compared for each group of students with mild intellectual disabilities and a group of general students of the same age as possible. Therefore, when providing vocabulary instruction for students with mild intellectual disabilities, it suggests that it is necessary to teach new vocabulary in order to increase their relationship with their peers and their popularity.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate and understand changes experienced by participants in group bibliotherapy. For this purpose, individual interviews were conducted with 14 adults who were chosen by the best bibliotherapists through peer nomination and the results were analyzed by grounded theory, which is one sort of qualitative research method. This study has a significant meaning to provide a foundation of understanding of group bibliotherapy by exploring participants' experiences in depth through grounded theory approach and revealing the changes experienced and process of group bibliotherapy.

Social Authority as Perceived by Children and Adolescents Removed from Illegally Built Shacks (철거촌 아동과 청소년의 권위 대상에 대한 인지)

  • The present study investigated perception of social authority by children and adolescents removed from illegally built shacks 181 children and adolescents from illegally built shacks and 200 comparative respondants of middle socioeconomic status were investigated. Perception of the social authority figures was classified by 5 categories(self, family member, neighbor, teacher and peer. social authority, collective member) in terms of contactable possibility and psychological distance. The data were analyzed by Hest. The results showed that (1) compared with their middle class peers(M group) children and adolescents from illegally built shacks(S group) perceived social authority figures positively, while they perceived their own family members less favorably. (2) The S group regarded their teachers as more valuable and able than M group. (3) The S group perceived social authority figures, i. e., statemen. polices. national assembly members. public servants and enterprisers, less favorably than their family members. (4) There were main effects of the age and sex variables of respondants. (5) There was an interaction effects between the age. sex and SES variables and was also interation effect between age. sex and task variables in cognition for the social authority figures. There was also an interaction effect between age and SES variables in perception for the personal traits of the social authority figures.

Identifying the predictor variables of juvenile delinquency for the development of prevention programs (비행 예방 프로그램의 개발을 위한 청소년비행 예측 요인의 발굴)

  • This study conducted a step-wise discriminant analysis to determine which variables play key roles in distinguishing among 3 mutually exclusive delinquent groups - disclosed delinquency group, closed delinquency group, and no delinquency group - and to 'develop a procedure for predicting group membership for new cases whose group membership is undetermined. Variables included in this study were collected by the review of previous empirical studies, which were identified as related to juvenile delinquency. The variables can be classified as character-related variables, family-related variables, school-related variables, peer-related variables, and socioeconomic variables. A sample of 693 youths were employed to conduct the statistical analysis. Out of 35 possible predictors of juvenile delinquency 14 variables were included in the pool of predicting variables. This study used a hold-out sample (n=300) to test if the linear discriminant function classify cases correctly into one of 3 groups. The percentage of cases classified correctly by the discriminant function was turned out to be acceptable in the area of social sciences. Discussions and suggestions were provided in terms of prevention and intervention for juvenile delinquency with focus on the 14 predictor variables.

  • This study was intended to investigate the effects of shyness, which is regarded as one of the former and comprehensive factors of social anxiety disorder, on interpersonal relationship. Particularly, the relations among Social Skill Factor, Motivation Factor, and Shyness were examined in order to verify a conventional belief('the most shy people have both low social skill and high motivation.') 497 middle school students(231 males and 266 females) in seoul were administrated with Snyder's Self-Monitoring Scale and Shyness Scale, and Peer-Group Popularity was measure. The results are : 1) the lower social skill is and hight Motivations is the more he or she is shy. 2) influence of Social Skill Factor is greater than that of Motivation Factor. 3) interaction effect among sex, shyness, and peer-group popularity was found.

A Study on Relations between the Sub-factors of Youths' Leadership Living Skills and Personal Features (청소년의 리더십생활기술과 개인특성의 관계에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to grasp relations between different sub-factors of youths' leadership living skills and between the sub-factors of youths' leadership living skills and personal features (support by parents, support by peers, sense of self-respect, sense of self-effectiveness) in order to generally understand the characteristics of youths. The result and conclusion of this study are as follows. First, the sub-factors of youths' leadership living skills showed various kinds of correlations and especially, measures to improve learning ability skill, self-understanding skill and group activity skill are necessary for healthy and general growth in adolescence. Second, the sense of self-respect showed positive correlations with decision making skill and self-understanding skill and programs are to improve leadership living skill gradually and positively through the enhancement of the sense of self-respect. Third, the degree of support by peers showed relations with decision making skill and group activity skill meaning the importance of peer groups in adolescence and diverse measures to form peer groups are necessary.

A study on the degree of depression in dental hygienists (치과의원에 근무하는 일부 치과위생사의 우울수준에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives : The degree of depression in dental hygienist was analyzed to reveal the various factors related to them. Methods : The self-administered questionnaires were filled out from 202 dental hygienist in Daejeon City. The survey items included subjects' socio-demographic and job-related characteristics, health-related behaviors, depression. Chi-Square analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient was put into survey results, in which a degree of depression was dependent variable and others were independent variable. Results : 1. The distribution for depression degree has shown the rate as 80.2% in normal range group and 19.8% in depression group. 2. As for depression, long working hours(p=0.042), poor sense satisfaction in work(p=0.000), not fit to the job(p=0.003), low personal relation with peer works or supervisors(p=0.039), without alcohol drinking(p=0.048), poor subjective condition of health(p=0.000) than their respective counterparts. 3. Concerning correlation between depression and various factors, poor sense satisfaction in work(r=-0.332, p=0.000), not fit to the job(r=-0.353, p=0.000), low personal relation with peer works or supervisors(r=-0.215, p=0.002), without alcohol drinking(r=-0183, p=0.009), poor subjective condition of health(r=-0.333, p=0.000). Conclusions : These results showed that depression state could be influenced by various factors, which include socio-demographic, job-related characteristics and health-related behaviors. Therefore, in order to reduce depression state of dental hygienists, development and application of programs to manage and research for them are required to be revitalized as well as socio-demographic and job-related characteristics and health-related behaviors.
