  • This study defined the notion of general idea on m-learning as based upon e-Learning and mobile internet related literature review and identified the m-Learning distinctive features. Also, this study has searched for factors that are expected to influence the use intended for m-Learning from self-regulated learning, which is acknowledged to be a useful method for learning accomplishment in education field, in order to measure the relationship between learners' motivation and use intention. Then it has empirically validated the conceptual model based on Davis' TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) As a result, self-efficacy, self-determination, interest, contents quality, time management, help seeking, and Peer study are factors affecting Perceived usefulness. Also self-efficacy, self-determination, interest, contents qualify, time management, and peer study are factors affecting perceived ease of use. Finally both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are significant factors affecting use intention.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the evaluation scores among various evaluators such as tutor, peer, and self evaluation, the lenience and central tendency among these various evaluators, and the correlation between evaluation scores among the various evaluators and the paper test score in the Problem-Based Learning (PBL). For the research, tutor, peer, and self evaluations were carried out with PBL effectiveness evaluation tool for the 105 nursing students taking classes using PBL, and paper test was conducted after the PBL class ended. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS WIN (V. 12.0). The study results showed that peer and self evaluation scores were higher than tutor evaluation score. Also lenience and central tendency were higher and stronger in peer and self evaluation than in tutor evaluation. Paper test score had a significant correlation with tutor evaluation score, but not with peer or self evaluation scores.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare student evaluation methods in team based learning classes for dental hygiene students. The subjects of this study were the score of dental hygiene students who took the courses of 'oral health education practice'. The analysis methods were spearman correlation analysis, skewness, kurtosis and Mann-Whitney U test. As a result, there was a significant correlation between the self-evaluation and peer-evaluation. Self-evaluation showed lenience tendency rather than peer-evaluation and self-evaluation found the highest central tendency. The peer-evaluation result was more lenience and more central in the group where self-evaluation was performed.

  • This paper suggests a new method for team-based learning which is focusing on the individual job assignment to solve the possible problems of free riders, dysfunctional conflicts, and hostility among students. Especially, it examines that if a method using job assignment could reduce the adverse effects of peer evaluation. This study was executed during one semester. Each team was organized with seven members and an independent job among seven different jobs was assigned to each member. At the end of the semester, it was examined that if individual job assignment had solved the possible problems of free riders, dysfunctional conflicts, and hostility among students. Finally, this study found that a new method of team-based learning using a job assignment lessened a problem of free riders, and reduced dysfunctional conflicts and hostility among students comparing with the peer evaluation method. The suggested method in this paper, which focuses on the job assignment of team project, could improve the efficiency of team-based learning in education course.

  • This research aims at exploring what Korean teachers of English need for their effective professional development, particularly from the perspectives of peer trainers who are school teachers as well as teacher trainers. The research is based on an assumption that despite the critical roles of peer trainers in the changing process of English education, very little attention has been paid to listening to their voices. Having an awareness of the meaningfulness of their voices in teacher education, the researcher collected and analyzed the data, employing a questionnaire responded by 32 peer trainers and in-depth group interview with 6 peer trainers who responded the questionnaire. The research findings suggest that the majority of peer trainers believe that the priority should be put on teaching practice rather than language competence for Korean English language teacher development. It has been found that they believe that teacher learning within the workplace with some support from outside experts is the most effective way of making classroom change possible and keeping teachers' professional development sustainable. Finally, the research suggests school-based professional development as an alternative strategy to satisfy their needs on effective and sustainable professional development.

  • Despite the importance of learning to do mathematical proofs, researchers have reported that not only secondary school students but also undergraduate students have difficulties in learning proofs. In this study, we introduced a new toll for learning proofs and explored the reliability and the validity of peer assessment on proofs. In the course of a university in Seoul, students were given weekly proof assignments prior to class. After solving the proofs, each student had to assess other students' proofs. The inter-rater reliabilities of weekly peer assessment was higher than .9 over 90 percent of the observed cases. To examine the validity of peer assessment, we check whether students' assessments were similar to expert assessment. Analysis showed that the equivalence has been quite high throughout the semester and the validity was low in the middle of the semester but rose by the end of the semester. Based on these results, we believe instructors can consider the application of peer assessment on proving tasks as a tool to help students learn.

  • The purpose of this study is to utilize new way of learning, Problem-Based Learning, for learning of VisualBasic programming. Providing authentic problems is a critical factor for programming learning because the skill may be not such a simple command learning but includes a variety of complexity. The objective of the learning is to develop quiz using VisualBasic programming. With programming skill, students was expected to solve the problem through peer collaboration activities as well as evaluation by peer and group composites. According to descriptive survey, it is concluded that students figure out their own learning status clearly. Furthermore, improvement of learning attitude and participation affect satisfaction and self-confidence.

  • Recent popularity of smart devices and social media seem to increase much interests on social learning, Despite of positive expectation on technology-based social learning, there are not many successful cases and practices of how to apply hands-on technologies and measure educational results. In this study, we tried to promote idea-sharing among learners in a classroom using web-based peer-review of assignments on a specific topic. Then we investigated effects of idea-sharing among learners in terms of individual knowledge construction. Experimental results show that idea-sharing promotes knowledge convergence and divergence, and then knowledge construction at learner's own.

  • This study is aimed at investigating the aspects of peer correction and responses of English composition in the web-based class. The participants for this study are students enrolled in the 'preparatory college cyber study center'. Two assignments were given--composition with no feedback and composition followed by student feedback. The participants' feedbacks, responses, and attitudes in peer interaction were analysed. The processes of these two assignments were also compared. The results were as follows: First, students' competitive attitude changed into cooperative attitude when peer-revision was followed. Second, both formal and content feedback were shown in the cyber composition class just as in the classroom composition class, but under no specific guidance, the majority of students' feedbacks were formal feedbacks. Third, some characteristics of web-based writing were found. In the web-based writing class where around a hundred students are enrolled. students' feedbacks were inevitable. The results of this study supported the use of students feedback.
