한국 고유식물의 종속지 Ⅶ. 작살나무속식물의 분류와 종간유속관계 (Monographic Study of the Endemic Plants in Korea Ⅶ. Taxonomy and Interspecific Relationships of the genus Callicarpa)

  • Taxa of genus Callicarpa in Korea were described taxonomically and studied interspecific relationships, based on the leaf length, leaf width, peduncle length, fruit width and geograhic distribution. Among 12 taxa reported previously in Korea, 3 forms of C. japonica were unifed to original species, C. japonica var. glabra was reserved, Whereas C. shirasawana was not distributed in Korea. As a result, 7 taxa belonging to 3 species, 4 varieties of genus Callicarpa remained. C. japonica complex is considered to be more advanced among the species compared with the bract shapes.

포도 품종간 송이 부위별 생리적 특성과 수확 후 냉각과 유통성 관계 (Physiological properties of grape cluster portions between cultivars and the effect of postharvest cooling on the marketability)

  • Rapid loss of grape berry quality after harvest occurs due to poor postharvest management. Understanding physiological properties between cultivars is required to develop practical technologies to control fast quality deterioration of tables grapes. Physiological characteristics of whole cluster, rachis and berries were examined to find their effects on postharvest behaviour of table grapes. 'Tamnara' showed high respiration rate and browning of rachis compared to 'Campbell Early'. Weight loss of rachis of 'Cheongsoo' was highest of three cultivars. Berry decay in 'Cheongsoo' begins at the connection portion between peduncle and berry, and berry decay of 'Cheongsoo' was the most severe among three cultivars. Precooling at $0^{\circ}C$ showed better results than cooling at $10^{\circ}C$ regardless of cultivars but cooling effect decreased when simulated marketing period increased up to 10 days. Plastic film wrapping was effective on reducing decay in general but not at higher marketing temperature. For successful commercialization of newly developed grapes, the inhibition technology of rachis browning in 'Tamnara' is required and decay control in 'Cheongsoo' through establishment of cold chain system is recommended.

흰점꺼끌복, Arothron hispidus (Linnaeus, 1758)의 형태 및 골격 (Description of Morphology and Osteology of the Whitespotted Puffer, Arothron hispidus (Linnaeus, 1758))

  • 분류학적으로 참복과에 속하는 흰점꺼끌복, Arothron hispidus (Linnaeus, 1785)은 2003년 7월에 전라남도 고흥군 녹동연안에서 저층 트롤로 3마리(체장 62.7~71.0 mm)를 채집하였다. 체색은 전체적으로 검회색이지만 색의 변화가 다양하며, 측면 관찰 시 가슴지느러미를 기준으로 위쪽에 하얀 반점이 분포하며, 가슴지느러미 아래쪽으로 반원의 흰색 띠가 배를 덮고 있는 특징을 가지고 있었다. 등지느러미 줄기수는 11~12개이며, 뒷지느러미 줄기수는 10~11개, 가슴지느러미 줄기수는 17개, 꼬리지느러미 줄기수는 5+6=11개였다. 두개골은 총 13개의 골편으로 구성되어 있었고, 같은 속 꺼끌복에 비하여 사골 길이, 액골의 크기에 차이를 보였다. 악골은 위턱에 전상악골과 주상악골, 아래턱에 치골, 관절골 및 각골로 구성되어 있고, 꺼끌복에 비해 각골과 관절골의 크기는 크게 나타났다. 현수골은 구개부가 7개, 새개부는 4개의 골편으로 이루어져 있고, 견대부의 상쇄골과 쇄골은 T-자형으로 연결되어 있다. 척추골은 크게 복추골과 미추골로 나누며, 그 수는 8+10=18개였고, 등지느러미를 지지하는 담기골식은 $7{\ast}1231$으로 꺼끌복의 7*1232와 차이를 보였다.

가다랑어 (Katsuwonus pelamis) 자어의 국내 출현 (Occurrence of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) larvae in Korean waters)

  • Three specimens of larvae (5.2~7.8 mm in standard length (SL)), of the family Scombridae, were collected from the southeastern waters off Jeju Island in August, 2014. These specimens were identified to Katsuwonus pelamis have melanophores distributed on the 1st dorsal-fin spines and post ventral margin on caudal peduncle. An analysis of the cytochrome oxidase submit I (COI) sequences (652 base pairs) of mitochondrial DNA showed that our specimens must be K. pelamis, because their sequences were concordant with those of the adult K. pelamis (genetic distance= 0.000~0.002), followed by Auxis rochei (genetic distance= 0.061~0.063) and Euthynnus affinis (genetic distance= 0.077~0.079). During the larval stage, K. pelamis differed from Thunnus spp. species in melanophores distribution period of 1st dorsal-fin spines, lower jaws and ventral margin on caudal peduncle. In conclusion, occurrence of K. pelamis larvae means Korean waters are potential spawning ground of K. pelamis.

고려인삼의 근아휴면타파와 생육에 대한 Gibbrerllin과 Kinetin의 효과 (Effect of Gibberellin and Kinetin on Bud Dormancy Breaking and Growth of Korean Ginseng Root (Panax ginseng C.A. MEY.))

  • Effect of gibberllin on the breaking of bud dormancy of root and growth of aerial parts were investigated under laboratory and field condition for the prolongation of shoot growth duration, shortening of fruit bearing age and the increase of root yield. Drop application of GA (0.5ml of 50ppm) on rhizome of one year old root broke bud dormancy better than by low temperature. Soaking for one hour of one year old roots which wintered in the field in GA (50-200ppm) greatly accelerated the emergence of new buds while kinetin was only effective at low level (50ppm). GA substantially increased stem length in early stage and petiole length later on while kinetin increased stem diameter. Under the field condition with polythylene film tunnel (PET) in early spring the soaking in GA (50ppm for 1 hour) of rhizome of 4 year old root with replanting and dropping GA (50ppm, 1ml) on rhizome without replanting brought earlier emergence (29days) in comparison with that in the usual field. PET alone caused 14 day-early emergence. GA increased the length of stem and petiole only in early stage and replanting decreased only petiole length in later stage. Soaking in GA with replanting caused the Pronounced decrease in peduncle length, percentage of (ruin set and dry weight of reproductive organ (fruits and peduncle). Dropping without replanting showed significant decrease only in dry weight of reproductive organ. Fruit maturing was 20 days earlier than in usual held with little difference between GA and PET. It is well expected that GA could be used for early emergence of bud, shortening of root dormancy period, thinning of fruit and higher root yield according to application amount and methods.

고삼 수집종의 생육특성, 주요성분 및 항산화 활성 (Growth Characteristics, Main Constituents and Antioxidant Activities in Local Accessions of Sophora flavescens AIT.)

  • Background: Sophora flavescens AIT root is used as a herbal medicine in Asian culture. This study was aimed at selecting the best cultivars, by comparing growth characteristics, active ingredients, and antioxidant activities. Methods and Results: A total twenty nine accessions of S. flavescens were collected from five different regions in Korea. Plant height, leaf length, peduncle length, fresh root weight, and seed weight were the growth characteristics selected. Antioxidant activity was determined by measuring the total polyphenol (TPC) and total flavonoid contents (TFC) as well as the radical scavenging activity of DPPH, ABTS and FRAP. Oxymatrine and matrine, active ingredients in S. flavescens were analyzed by HPLC. Results indicated that accession YS-11 had the highest plant height (152.5 cm) and peduncle length (54.0 cm). The fresh root weight was highest in JA-01 at 4.9 kg, while the highest total seed weight was recorded in accession BH-04 at 77.7 g. The YS-03 accession contained the highest oxymatrine and matrine total contents (0.9616% and 0.9638%, respectively). Accessions BH-02, YS-11, YS-05, and MJ-03 had the highest levels of antioxidant activity (p < 0.05). Oxymatrine showed a high correlation with TPC and FRAP. TPC showed high correlations with TFC, DPPH, ABTS and FRAP. TFC showed a high correlation with DPPH. Conclusions: The superior lines can be selected for use as standard variety breeding material by comparing the growth characteristics of the accessions.

Feeding by the newly described heterotrophic dinoflagellate Aduncodinium glandula: having the most diverse prey species in the family Pfiesteriaceae

  • To explore the feeding ecology of the newly described heterotrophic dinoflagellate Aduncodinium glandula in the family Pfiesteriaceae, its feeding behavior and prey species were investigated. Additionally, the growth and ingestion rates of A. glandula on the mixotrophic dinoflagellates Heterocapsa triquetra and Akashiwo sanguinea, its optimal and suboptimal prey, respectively were measured. A. glandula fed on prey through a peduncle after anchoring to the prey using a tow filament. A. glandula ate all algal prey and perch blood cells tested and had the most diverse prey species in the family Pfiesteriaceae. Unlike for other pfiesteriacean species, H. triquetra and A. sanguinea support the positive growth of A. glandula. However, the cryptophytes Rhodomonas salina and Teleaulax sp. and the phototrophic dinoflagellate Amphidinium carterae did not support the positive growth of A. glandula. Thus, A. glandula may have a unique kind of prey and its optimal prey differs from that of the other pfiesteriacean dinoflagellates. With increasing mean prey concentration, the growth rates of A. glandula on H. triquetra and A. sanguinea increased rapidly and then slowed or became saturated. The maximum growth rates when feeding on H. triquetra and A. sanguinea were 1.004 and 0.567 d−1, respectively. Further, the maximum ingestion rates of A. glandula on H. triquetra and A. sanguinea were 0.75 and 1.38 ng C predator−1 d−1, respectively. There is no other pfiesteriacean species having H. triquetra and A. sanguinea as optimal and suboptimal prey. Thus, A. glandula may be abundant during blooms dominated by these species not preferred by the other pfiesteriacean dinoflagellates.

왕종개 Cobitis longicorpus와 미꾸리 Misgurunus anguilicaudatus의 자연잡종에 관하여 (A natural hybrid between spinous loach, Cobitis longicorpus and cyprinid loach Misgurunus anguilicaudatus(Pices, Cobitidae))

  • 섬진강의 2차지류의 하나인 동복천에서 Cobitis longicorpus와 Misgurunus anguilicaudatus와 자연교잡종에 의하여 형성된 것으로 생각되는 개체가 발견되어 이를 비교 검토하였다. Hybrid의 형태적 특징은 눈밑에 가시가 있고 제 1반문의 위치가 짙으며, 혼서하고 있다는 점 등은 C. longicorpus의 특징이었고 체측 등쪽 반문의 특징과 등지느러미와 꼬리지느러미에 나타나는 반문, 골질반이 완만한 혹모양을 하고 있는 점은 C. longicorpus와 M. anguilicaudatus의 중간적 특징이었다. 계수형질의 결과 등지느러미 기점의 위치와 미병고에 있어서는 M. anguilicaudatus와 비슷하고 체고와 미병고/미병장의 비는 C. longicorpus와 M. anguilicaudatus의 사이 값을 나타낸 것이 특징이었다. 이를 제외한 나머지 계수형질의 값들은 C. longicorpus와 유사하여 상기 두 종의 hybrid로 보는 것이 타당하다고 판단된다.

한국산 쥐치과 어류 1미기록, Cantherhines pardalis (First Record of the Honeycomb Filefish, Cantherhines pardalis (Tetraodontiformes: Monacanthidae) from Korea)

  • 쥐치과에 속하는 Cantherhines pardalis 1개체(표준체장 105.4 mm)가 2012년 6월 20일에 부산 연안에서 자망에 처음으로 채집되었다. 이 종은 등지느러미 기조수 II, 34개를 갖는 점, 뒷지느러미 기조수 31개를 갖는 점, 가슴지느러미 기조수 13개를 갖는 점, 꼬리지느러미 미병부에 큰 가시가 없는 점, 첫 번째 등지느러미 극조 측면에 분명한 거치가 있는 점, 그리고 흉부 말단에 딱딱한 비늘이 돌출되어 있는 특징을 갖는다. 그리고 이 종은 형태적으로 검은쥐치(C. dumerilii)와 유사하지만 꼬리지느러미 비병부에 가시가 없어서, 2쌍의 가시를 가지는 검은쥐치와 형태적으로 쉽게 구분된다. 또한 유전학적 방법을 사용하여 이 표본이 C. pardalis임을 확인하였다. 우리나라에서 처음 보고되는 이 종을 한국 어류상 목록에 추가하였고, 국명으로 "육각무늬쥐치"를 제안하였다.

知母의 生育特性과 部位別 Sarsasapogenin 含量 (Growth Characteristics and Content of Sarsasapogenin in Different Plant Parts of Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bunge)

  • 본 실험은 지모의 생리, 생태적 특성과 성숙한 상태의 각 부위별 Sarsasapogenin의 함량을 비교 분석하고자, 5개의 수집종에 대해 1993년부터 '95년까지 충남농촌진흥원 특작포장에 재배하고 성숙된 지모의 각 부위별 Sarsasapogenin 함량을 T.L.C plate 방법에 의해 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 5개 수집종 중 주로 종실(種實)형을 나타낸 것은 공주, 청양 수집종이고 영양번식(營養繁殖)형은 금산, 연기, 유성종에서 주로 분류되어 있으며, 종실(種實)형이 비종실형보다 생육(生育) 및 형태적(形態的) 특징(特徵)이 양호하였다. 2. BuOH에 엑스를 산(酸)으로 가수분해(加水分解)한 후 T.L.C 용매(溶媒) 전개조건(展開條件)인 $CHCl_3$ : MEK : EtOH의 비율을 11 : 2 : 0.5로 하여 sarsasapogenin 분리(分離)가 가능하였고 Dual wave length T.L.C scanner로 정량(定量)이 가능(可能)하였다. 3. 주근(主根)과 세근(細根)의 sarsasapogenin의 량(量)은 각각(各各) 1.67mg/10g, 1.31mg/10g으로 세근(細根)에 sarsasapogenin의 량(量)이 주근(主根)보다 1.1배(倍)로 높게 나타나 세근(細根)에 sarsasapogenin 계통(系統)의 물질(物質)이 가장 많음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 지상부(地上部)의 sarsasapogenin 함량은 미미한 것으로 나타났다.
