A pounding tuned mass damper (PTMD) can be considered as a passive device, which combines the merits of a traditional tuned mass damper (TMD) and a collision damper. A recent analytical study by the authors demonstrated that the PTMD base on the energy dissipation during impact is able to achieve better control effectiveness over the traditional TMD. In this paper, a PTMD prototype is manufactured and applied for seismic response reduction to examine its efficacy. A series of shaking table tests is conducted in a three-story building frame model under single-dimensional and two-dimensional broadband earthquake excitations with different excitation intensities. The ability of the PTMD to reduce the structural responses is experimentally investigated. The results show that the traditional TMD is sensitive to input excitations, while the PTMD mostly has improved control performance over the TMD to remarkably reduce both the peak and root-mean-square (RMS) structural responses under single-dimensional earthquake excitation. Unlike the TMD, the PTMD is found to have the merit of maintaining a stable performance when subjected to different earthquake loadings. In addition, it is also indicated that the performance of the PTMD can be enhanced by adjusting the initial gap value, and the control effectiveness improves with the increasing excitation intensity. Under two-dimensional earthquake inputs, the PTMD controls remain outperform the TMD controls; however, the oscillation of the added mass is observed during the test, which may induce torsional vibration modes of the structure, and hence, result in poor control performance especially after a strong earthquake period.
The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of situational, clinical and psychsoical factors on treatment-seeking behavior among those with acute myocardial infarction(AMI). This study used a retrospective, descriptive design. The sample consisted of 72 patients aged over 30 and who were diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction at two large university-affiliated medical centers from July 1, 1998 to March 30, 2000. But of 72, patients 5 who were an outlier in treatment-seeking time were deleted. Data were collected by using questionnaires, which included demographic data, situational, clinical and psychosocial data. Also patient interviews and chart review were used to obtain information related to treatment-seeking time. The results of this study were summarized as follows ; 1. Mean time from the onset of AMI symptoms to arrival at the hospital was $12.09{\pm}11.44$ hours; 2. Treatment-seeking time was not significantly different by age, gender, or education; 3. Most(44 or 65.78%) patients were at home when they began having AMI symptoms. The remaining patients were either in a public area, workplace or in a car. Patients at home delayed longer than those who had their first symptoms elsewhere, but not significantly different. Also, most patients were with another person when they began to experience AMI symptoms: a spouse(25 or 37.3%), other family member(31 or 46.3%); the remaining 11 were alone. There were no significant differences in treatment-seeking time based on whether alone or with others. Most patients(46 or 68.7%) used an ambulance rather than taking private transportation, and patients who used an ambulance were delayed longer than those who used private transportation, but there were no significant differences; 4. Time to treatment-seeking was not significantly different by blood pressure, heart rate on admission and the peak CK-MB, CPK and Cholesterol level, Killips class; 5. There were no significant statistical differences in treament-seeking times by anxiety level, mood status or control ability.

X-ray diffractometers are used to characterize material properties, such as the phase, texture, lattice constant and residual stress, based on the diffracted beams obtained from specimens. Quantitative analyses using X-rays are typically conducted by measuring the peak positions of the diffracted beams. However, the long-term use of the diffractomer, like any other machine, results in errors associated with the mechanical parts, which can deteriorate the accuracy of the quantitative analyses. In this study, the process of correcting systematic errors in the $2{\theta}$ range of $30{\sim}90^{\circ}$ is discussed, for which strain-free Si powders from NIST were used as the standard specimens. For the evaluation of the impact of such error correction, we conducted a quantitative analysis of the true lattice constant for tungsten thin films.

In this study, a flexible multi-body dynamic simulation model of a knuckle boom crane is developed to evaluate the stress of spindle and rack gears under dynamic working conditions. It is difficult to predict potential critical damage to a knuckle boom crane if only the static condition is considered during the development process. To solve this issue, a severe working scenario (high speed with heavy load) was simulated as a boundary condition for testing the integrity of the dynamic simulation model. The crane gear model is defined as a flexible body so contact analysis was performed. The functional motion of a knuckle boom crane is generated by applying forces at each end of the rack gear, which was converted from hydraulic pressure measured for the experiment. The bending and contact stress of gears are theoretically calculated to validate the simulation model. In the simulation, the maximum stress of spindle and rack gears are observed when the crane abruptly stops. Peak impact force is produced at the contact interface between pinion and rack gears due to the inertia force of the boom. However, the maximum stress (bending/contact) of spindle and rack are under the yield stress, which is safe from damage. By using the developed simulation model, the experiment process is expected to be minimized.
The purpose of this study was to compare the biomechanical difference of barefoot and two types taekwondo footwear. which will provide scientific data to coaches and players, to further prevent injuries and to improve each players skills. How to an effect on human body which studied a kinematics and kinetics from 8 college students during experiments. This study imposes several conditions by barefoot and two types of taekwondo footwear ran under average $3.82{\pm}0.59$ m/sec for kinetics analysis. The result of comparative analysis can be summarized as below. Friction coefficient analysis showed A Company shoes 0.60 and M Company shoes 0.61. Ground reaction force also showed that statically approximates other results from impact peak timing (p<0.001), Maximum loading rate (p<0.001), Maximum loading rate timing (p<0.001) and impulse of first 20 percent (p<0.001). Moment was M Company shoes bigger than A Company shoes to pronation moment and supination moment.
Objectives: In the current early phase of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, Bali needs to prepare to face the escalation of cases, with a particular focus on the readiness of healthcare services. We simulated the future trajectory of the epidemic under current conditions, projected the impact of policy interventions, and analyzed the implications for healthcare capacity. Methods: Our study was based on the first month of publicly accessible data on new confirmed daily cases. A susceptible, exposed, infected, recovered (SEIR) model for COVID-19 was employed to compare the current dynamics of the disease with those predicted under various scenarios. Results: The fitted model for the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Bali indicated an effective reproduction number of 1.4. Interventions have decreased the possible maximum number of cases from 71 125 on day 86 to 22 340 on day 119, and have prolonged the doubling time from about 9 days to 21 days. This corresponds to an approximately 30% reduction in transmissions from cases of mild infections. There will be 2780 available hospital beds, and at the peak (on day 132), the number of severe cases is estimated to be roughly 6105. Of these cases, 1831 will need intensive care unit (ICU) beds, whereas the number of currently available ICU beds is roughly 446. Conclusions: The healthcare system in Bali is in danger of collapse; thus, serious efforts are needed to improve COVID-19 interventions and to prepare the healthcare system in Bali to the greatest extent possible.

Objectives: This study was performed to measure and evaluate the concentration, size distribution and fugitive emission of particulate matter from process operations at foundries. Methods: Particle matter was collected from three foundries, and samples were also collected from a background site for calculating the fugitive emission concentration of the foundries. For the collection of the samples, a Nanosampler cascade impactor was used. Results: The concentration of TSP in the samples collected from the three foundries was $0.675{\sim}1.222mg/m^3$, $PM_{10}$ was $0.525{\sim}1.018mg/m^3$ and $PM_{2.5}$ was $0.192{\sim}0.615mg/m^3$. The mass size distribution was bimodal or monomodal with maximum peak at two stage(size $2.5{\sim}10{\mu}m$). The mass median aerodynamic diameter(MMAD) was $1.80{\sim}3.98{\mu}m$. The fugitive emission concentration of TSP varies in the range of 0.65 to $1.21mg/m^3$, which exceeds the emission standard of fugitive dust($0.5mg/m^3$). Conclusions: Particle concentration and size is an important industrial hygiene factor to protect foundry workers. Furthermore, the presence of high emission of particulate pollutants has a significant negative impact on the ambient air of the study area. Therefore, it is important to improve both the process and prevention facility in oder to reduce particulate pollutants in foundries.

Urbanization results in increased runoff volume and peak flowrate and shortening in time of concentration, which may cause frequent flooding downstream. There are various types of flow retardation methods including detention ponds, retention ponds, and infiltration ponds. In general, hydrologic models to design the detention pond are classified into planning model and design model. This study is comparing and analyzing of planning model to design the detention pond in urban area. Detention ponds data of Disaster Impact Assessment Report on 22 sites were analyzed to investigate proper planning models in this study. From this research, following conclusions are derived, 1) In case of on-line detention pond, Lee model(1991) is the best planning model and similar to real storage volume. 2) In case of off-line detention pond, Abt and Grigg model is much more proper model compared to other models.

The satellite thermal control H/W composed of two parallel channels working for heat pipe (HP) and phase change material (PCM) is suggested for the high heat dissipating component which works intermittently with short duty. In a limited point of view, the HP-PCM device is a kind of off-the-shelf component that requires no dedicated configuration and thermal designs to PCM. Therefore, it can be used with less impact on the program cost and schedule different from most of the PCM applications. In present study the typical honeycomb structure radiator applying the HP-PCM device is designed and the detail thermal math model is developed for numerical analyses. The result comparison between without and with PCM shows that the HP-PCM device redistributes the peak heat around the whole mission period through the alternate melting and freezing of PCM, and, as a result, the maximum and minimum temperatures are effectively alleviated. The drawback of PCM application due to low thermal conductivity can be successfully resolved by means of parallel arrangement of HP channel.

In this paper, Residential roof top photovoltaic system with 9.9 kW design is proposed. The system composed of 200 Watts solar array 33 panels connecting in series 10 strings and parallels 3 strings which have maximum voltage and current are 350 V and 23.8 A. The 10 kW sinusoidal grid-connected inverter with window voltage about 270-350 is selected to convert and transfer DC Power to AC Power at PCC (Point of Common Coupling) of power system following to utility standard. However the impact of fluctuation and uncertainty of weather condition of PV may decrease the voltage stability and voltage collapse of power system. In order to solve this problem the energy storage such 120 V 1200 Ah battery bank and 30 kVAR capacitor are designed for voltage stability control. The other expensed for installing the system such battery charger, cable, accessories and maintenance cost are concerned. The economic analysis by using investment from money loan with interest about 7% and use own money which loss income of deposit about 3% are calculated as 671,844 and 547,044 for PV system with energy storage and non energy storage respectively. The solar energy from PV is about 101,616 Bath per year which evaluated by using the value of $5kWh/m^2/day$ from average peak sun hour (PSH) of the Thailand and 6.96 Bath/kWh of Feed in Tariff Incentive. The payback periods of four scenarios are proposed follow as i) PV system with energy storage and use loan money is 15 years ii) PV system with no energy storage and use loan money is 10 years iii) PV system with energy storage and use deposit money is 9 years iv) PV system with energy storage and use deposit money is 7 years. In addition, the other scenarios of economic analysis such no FIT support and other type of economic analysis such NPV and IRR are proposed in this paper.
