열화상 이미지 히스토그램의 가우시안 혼합 모델 근사를 통한 열화상-관성 센서 오도메트리 (Infrared Visual Inertial Odometry via Gaussian Mixture Model Approximation of Thermal Image Histogram)

  • We introduce a novel Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO) algorithm designed to improve the performance of thermal-inertial odometry. Thermal infrared image, though advantageous for feature extraction in low-light conditions, typically suffers from a high noise level and significant information loss during the 8-bit conversion. Our algorithm overcomes these limitations by approximating a 14-bit raw pixel histogram into a Gaussian mixture model. The conversion method effectively emphasizes image regions where texture for visual tracking is abundant while reduces unnecessary background information. We incorporate the robust learning-based feature extraction and matching methods, SuperPoint and SuperGlue, and zero velocity detection module to further reduce the uncertainty of visual odometry. Tested across various datasets, the proposed algorithm shows improved performance compared to other state-of-the-art VIO algorithms, paving the way for robust thermal-inertial odometry.

ACCELERATED CONSTRUCTION OF URBAN INTERSECTIONS WITH PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE PAVEMENT (PCCP)

  • The frequent maintenance required on some asphalt concrete (AC) pavement sections has made reconstruction with Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) a feasible alternative. However, many constructability issues need to be addressed in order to realize the full potential of this alternative. Accelerated paving encompasses three classes of activities: methods to accelerate the rate of strength gain, methods to minimize the construction time, and traffic control strategies to minimize user delay. Three major AC intersections with severe rutting problems were reconstructed with PCCP. The entire reconstruction of each intersection, including demolition of the AC pavement and its replacement with PCCP, took place over a period of three days, starting on Thursday evening and opening the intersection to the traffic on Sunday afternoon. This paper discusses the use of PCCP for accelerated reconstruction of major urban intersections with minimal user and traffic disruption, using innovative construction techniques and traffic management optimization principles and demonstrates that concrete pavements can be constructed efficiently and quickly.

  • 도로의 주된 문제는 표층에서부터 작용하는 하중으로 인해 시간이 지남에 따라 균열 및 침하가 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법 중 하나로 지오셀(Geocell)을 사용하는 것이 있는데, 지오셀은 침식 방지, 평지 및 급경사지에서의 지반 안정화, 하중지지 및 지반 보전을 위한 구조적 보강을 위해 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 지오셀을 활용한 도로포장 적용 사례를 분석하고, 현장 시험과 LFWD(Light Falling Weight Deflectometer) 장비를 이용한 지오셀이 포함된 도로 포장 공법에 따른 지지력을 분석하고 기존도로포장 공법과 지지력을 비교·분석 하고자 한다.

Reduction of Ambiguity in Phosphorylation-site Localization in Large-scale Phosphopeptide Profiling by Data Filter using Unique Mass Class Information

  • The rapid development of shotgun proteomics is paving the way for extensive proteome profiling, while providing extensive information on various post translational modifications (PTMs) that occur to a proteome of interest. For example, the current phosphoproteomic methods can yield more than 10,000 phosphopeptides identified from a proteome sample. Despite these developments, it remains a challenging issue to pinpoint the true phosphorylation sites, especially when multiple sites are possible for phosphorylation in the peptides. We developed the Phospho-UMC filter, which is a simple method of localizing the site of phosphorylation using unique mass classes (UMCs) information to differentiate phosphopeptides with different phosphorylation sites and increase the confidence in phosphorylation site localization. The method was applied to large scale phosphopeptide profiling data and was demonstrated to be effective in the reducing ambiguity associated with the tandem mass spectrometric data analysis of phosphopeptides.

  • This study investigates cognitive and emotional changes in individuals to clarify the principle between artistic stimulation and business innovation idea generation based on phenomenological research methodology. We conducted in-depth interviews with six participants who participated in the artistic creation program of business art, and derived meanings from their experience. As a result, we presented 4 essential categories, 8 main subjects, and 20 sub-subjects; 1) Optimizing rational and creative thinking, 2) Projecting oneself to the artist, finding balance, 3) Having room in mind to view the surroundings, finding insight into the world, 4) Eureka moment, crossing the boundary between business and art. We also found out participants of the program 1) Gradually expanded the criteria, 2) In chaotic directions, and 3) Leaded business creativity through from a non-form to reality throughout the project experience, The attempt to identify business phenomena by using phenomenological qualitative research methods had an academic significance regarding the unfamiliarity of the method in the business administration area. Moreover, this study broadened the possibility of promoting creativity by art in business areas. The study verified the categories and subjects of the business art, paving the way towards application in the real business situation.

중국 서안시 성곽공원의 이미지 요인 및 조화도 분석 (An Analysis of the Image Factor and Combination of Xi'an Castle Park in China)

  • 본 연구는 앞으로의 조경계획 및 디자인을 개선하기 위해 서안명성곽공원의 시각적 선호 이미지 요인과 성곽과 해자의 조화 정도를 파악하여 중국 도시공원 및 역사공원 설계 시 기초자료를 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 이 연구는 문헌 조사와 현장 조사를 통해 이루어졌다. 문헌조사는 서안명성곽 및 명성곽공원의 관련 자료들을 수집하였으며, 현장 조사는 현장관찰과 서안명성곽공원 이용에 관한 설문 조사를 통해 이루어졌다. 설문을 통해 얻어진 데이터는 사회 과학 통계 분석 프로그램(SPSS17.0 for Windows)을 이용하여 분석하였다. 설문을 통해 얻어진 데이터를 주성분 요인분석을 실시하여 3가지 요인이 추출됐다. 추출된 3가지 요인인 환경인자, 편리인자, 문화심미인자의 변수에 대해서 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 전체 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 준 요인은 환경인자로 나타났다. 14가지 조경요소 중에 포장, 원림건축, 입구공간 등 3개 요소가 성곽과 조화정도에 큰 영향을 주고 있었고, 휴식공간, 수경, 포장 등 3개 요소가 해자와 조화정도에게 큰 영향을 주고 있으므로 나타났다.

태양광 도로용 프리캐스트 콘크리트 블록 포장의 현장 적용과 계측 (Field Application and Performance Measurements of Precast Concrete Blocks Developed for Paving Roadways Capable of Solar Power Generation)

  • 지구온난화는 급격한 기후변화 및 자연재해를 발생시키고 있어 세계에서 가장 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 이에 각국에서는 이산화탄소 배출 저감, 재생에너지 비중 확대 등의 정책을 대폭적으로 추진하면서 재생에너지에 관련된 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이중 태양광 발전은 기존의 도시 외곽의 유휴부지 뿐만 아니라 BIPV와 같이 도심지 내에 적용연구가 수행되고 있으며, 선진국에서는 도로에 태양광 발전을 적용하기 위한 실증시설 조성이 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 태양광 발전이 가능한 도로 건설을 위해, 태양광 패널과 프리캐스트 콘크리트 블록을 모듈화 하기 위한 구조요소 설계와 시험시공을 수행하였다. 시공 후 6개월간 현장 적용성 평가를 위하여 미끄럼 저항성 및 블록의 침하량과 단차를 측정하였다. 실험 결과 미끄럼 저항성은 국내 일반도로의 기준은 만족하였으나, 고속도로의 기준은 만족하지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며 시간이 경과함에 따라 미끄럼 저하성이 감소되는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 블록의 침하량도 점차 미소하게 증가하는 경향을 보여 일부 단차가 발생하는 것으로 확인되었으나 도로의 허용 침하량을 고려하여 볼 때 매우 미소한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이후 일정기간 동안 추후 변화양상을 조사 분석함으로서 유지관리 기법의 확립이 요구된다.

The Management of Nonpoint Source and Storm Water Reduction with LID Techniques in Inchon City, South Korea

  • Impervious areas have been expanded by urbanization and the natural structure of water circulation has been destroyed. The limits of centralized management for controlling storm water runoff in urban areas have been suggested. Low impact development (LID) technologies have been promoted as a crucial alternative, establishing a connection with city development plans to build green infrastructures in environmentally friendly cities. Thus, the improvement of water circulation and the control of nonpoint source were simulated through XP-SWMM (storm water and wastewater management model for experts) in this study. The application of multiple LID combination practices with permeable pavements, bioretention cells, and gutter filters were observed as reducing the highest runoff volume by up to 70%. The results from four different LID installation scenarios indicated that permeable paving is the most effective method for reducing storm water runoff. The rate of storm water runoff volume reduced as the rainfall duration extended. Based on the simulation results, each LID facility was designed and constructed in the target area. The LID practices in an urban area enable future studies of the analysis of the criteria, suitable capacity, and cost-efficiency, and proper management methods of various LID techniques.

굵은골재 최대치수 40 mm 투수 콘크리트의 물리적 특성과 질소산화물 제거에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on NOx Degradation Efficiency and Physical Characteristics of Maximum Size 40 mm Porous Concrete)

  • The strength, water permeability, and photo-degradation efficiency of NOx of porous concrete with a new concept were studied in this paper. The porous concrete was comprised of coarse aggregate of maximum size 40 mm, cement, silica fume, water and air-entraining(AE) water reducing agent. The strength of porous concrete was strongly related to its matrix proportion and compaction energy. An experimental test was carried out to study the parameters of cement proportions and silica fume content for pavement applications of porous concrete which were paving a footpath, a bikeway, a parking lot, and a driveway. The regressed equations of relation-ships between compressive strength and flexural strength, and coefficient permeability and void ratios were indicated as y=7.69x+71.74 and $y=0.42e^{0.28x}$. A method of making an air purification-functioning road, which was spraying a mixture of a photocatalyst, cement, and water onto the surface of the road, was suggested.

도시 지표면 온도분포 특성 및 열섬완화방안 (A Study on the Distribution Characteristic of Urban Surface Temperature and Urban Heat Island Effects)

  • The purpose of this research was to three-criteria landuse-pattern, developing density, NDVI which were related to the heat island and find the distribution characteristic of urban surface temperature and urban heat island effects. The results of this study were as follows. According to the analysis of surface temperatures, the first grade was the outside-city like a mountain and its temperature was less than $12.18^{\circ}C$. The fifth grade was the downtown industrial area and its temperature was more than $23.54^{\circ}C$. It means Daegu-Metropolitan-City has the serious heat-island effect. the results of landuse pattern analysis, in case of fifth and forth grade, city area was occupied over 90% with residential, commercial and industrial areas, but in case of third grade, openspace was occupied over 70%. The results of developing density analysis, the temperature had high correlation with building ratio, road ratio, vegetation ratio and etc. To plan for the decrease of heat island effect needed the extension of green space, decrease of paving, but there was a limit to get the objective method for grade classification because of lacking in the basic data, the research of criteria will be accomplished continuously.
