Purpose: Human factor is one of the major causes of medication errors. The purpose of this study was to identify nurses' perception and experience of medication errors, examine the relationship of Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness (DISC) behavior patterns and medication errors by nurses. Methods: A descriptive survey design with a convenience sampling was used. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires answered by 308 nurses from one university hospital and two general hospitals. Results: The most frequent DISC behavioral style of nurses was influence style (41.9%), followed by steadiness style (23.7%), conscientiousness style (20.4%), and dominance style (14.0%). Differences in the perception and experience level of medication errors by nurses' behavioral pattern were not statistically significant. However, nurses with conscientiousness style had the lowest scores for in experience of medication errors and the highest scores for perception of medication errors. Conclusion: The results of this study show that identification of the behavior pattern of nurses and application of this education program can prevent medication errors by nurses in hospitals.
Denasalization that nasals are replaced by stops is an unusual error pattern related to manner of articulation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of denasalization and to scrutinize the nasal production according to phonological context for typically developing children and children with speech sound disorders(SSD). 220 typically developing children and 48 SSD children from 2~6 years of age were tested with a formal word test, and those who demonstrate denasalization were selected. In addition, the nasal production of SSD children with denasalization were analyzed for the correctness and the error types using the formal word test and spontaneous conversation. The results were as follows: (1) Denasalization was shown in below 10% of 2-3 years of age with typically developing children and in above 20% of 2-5 years of age with SSD. (2) The SSD children who demonstrate denasalization were categorized into 4 types according to the error context of nasals; nasal errors with all word positions, nasal errors with word-final and word-medial positions, nasal errors with word-medial position preceding vowels, and nasal errors with word-medial position preceding obstruents. These results indicate that denasalization is a clinically important error pattern, and word-medial position preceding obstruents is an essential context for denasalization in terms of Korean phonotactics.
In this study, we characterized the variation of sampling errors using the Waymire-Gupta-rodriguez-Iturbe multi-dimensional rainfall model (WGR model). The parameters used for this study are those derived by Jung et al. (2000) for the Han River Basin using a genetic algorithm technique. The sampling error problems considering in this study are those far using raingauge network, satellite observation and also for both combined. The characterization of sampling errors was done for each month and also for the downstream plain area and the upstream mountain area, separately. As results of the study we conclude: (1) The pattern of sampling errors estimated are obviously different from the seasonal pattern of mentally rainfall amounts. This result may be understood from the fact that the sampling error is estimated not simply by considering the rainfall amounts, but by considering all the mechanisms controlling the rainfall propagation along with its generation and decay. As the major mechanism of moisture source to the Korean Peninsula is obviously different each month, it seems rather norma1 to provide different pattern of sampling errors from that of monthly rainfall amounts. (2) The sampling errors estimated for the upstream mountain area is about twice higher than those for the down stream plain area. It is believed to be because of the higher variability of rainfall in the upstream mountain area than in the down stream plain area.

Process fault diagnosis is a complicated matter because quality control problems can result from a variety of causes. These causes include problems with electrical components, mechanical components, human errors, job justification errors, and air conditioning influences. In order to make the system run smoothly with minimum delay, it is necessary to suggest heuristic remedies for the detected faults. Hence, this paper describes a heuristic methodology of fault diagnosis that is performed using statistical patterns generated by quality characteristics The proposed methodology is described briefly as follows: If a sample pattern generated by random variables is similar to the number of prototype patterns, the sample pattern may be matched by any prototype pattern among them to be resembled. This concept is based on the similarity between a sample pattern and the matched prototype pattern. The similarity is calculated as the weighted average of squared deviation, which is expressed as the difference between the relative values of standard normal distribution to be transformed by the observed values of quality characteristics in a sample pattern and the critical values of the corresponding ones in a matched prototype pattern.
The purpose of this paper is to diagnose the errors by comparing putting motion with the single pendulum pattern applicable to putting in golf skill and order prescription that correct errors of putting. In the modern-day game of golf, putting remains the key to shooting low scores, and the ability to hole putts can turn a good round into a great round A semi-golfer, subject(sex female, age 20yrs, mass 94.3kg, height 1.65m) who has troubles to do putting is chosen. Six cameras, ProReflex MCU240(240Hz) made by Qualisys company is used to capture putting motion and data is processed by QTM(Qualisys Track Manager) and Mathematica 5.0. The result that differentiates the putting and the single pendulum pattern is acquired To make the pattern of subject's putting to the single pendulum pattern quasi-equal, one tries to lower center of mass gradually. As a result of it, one has a similar pattern like the single pendulum Conclusively, to lower C.O.M one orders prescriptions that increase the weight and length of a putter and lower C.O.M subject's segment. Further improvements to the study could be to train a subject according to prescriptions and to monitor putting again. It will probably be necessary to simulate putting motions and to research relations for body shapes and putting patterns in order to establish suitable putting-motions.
This paper presents a real-time correction method of the movemont errors of a translatory precision machine axis. This method is a null-balances technique in which two plane mirrors are used to generate an interferometric fringe pattern utilizing the optical principles of TwymanGreen interferometry. One mirror is fixed on a reference frame, while the other is placed on the machine axis being supported by three piezoelectric actuators. From the fringe pattern, one translatory and two rotational error components of the machine axis are simultaneously detected by using CCD camera vision and image processing techniques. These errors are then independently suppressed by activating the peizoelectric actuators by real-time feedback control while the machine axis is moving. Experimental results demonstrate that a machine axis can be controlled with movement errors less than 10 nm in vertical straightness, 0.1 arcsec in pitch, and 0.06 arcsec in roll for 50mm travel by adopting the real-time correction method.
In general, the cutting pattern of the membrane structures is determined by dividing the complicated curved 3-D surface into several 2-D plane strip by using flattening technique. In this procedure, however, some discrepancies ore occurred between actual stresses of equilibrated state and designed uniform stresses because the material properties are not considered. These deviations can cause the critical structural problems, wrinkling or overstress, and thus a optimization process should be considered. In this paper, a new analytical method for determining an optimum cutting pattern considering material properties is presented. Here, iterative procedure is introduced to decrease the errors caused in numerical process. The optimization method proposed can diminish the deviations occurred by material properties and numerical errors, simultaneously. As a results, it is shown that the final stress distributions for the HP shell model are sufficiently near to design stress distributions, and it can be concluded that this method can be used to obtain the optimized cutting pattern of membrane structures.
This paper proposed a method to detect and locate coding errors in HDL behavioral descriptions (designs). The target coding errors are the ones that the compiler cannot find out. As the method, this paper used verification pattern generation method. Thus, an algorithm to generate the verification patterns was proposed, in which the pattern generation is performed by a path- searching method. Various example designs were applied to this algorithm to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
Well-trained neural networks have low sensitivity to input errors. Also, the sensitivity to weigh errors must be considered when implementing neural networks with hardware of limited precision. In this paper, we derive the sensitivity of the Madaline to weight perturbation or input errors in terms of the trained weights, the input pattern, and the variance of weight perturbation or the probability of input errors. The result is verified with a simulation of the Madaline recognizing handwritten digits.
