  • Establishment of bandwidth and effective traffic processing are required to treat various traffics according to a rapid increase in Internet traffic. A path setup algorithm was introduced to support backbone franc processing but the failure probability is increasing according to fixed operation in nodes. In other words, fixed maximum permitted time can be raised failure probability. So as to solve this problem, this paper introduces variable path setup time algorithm which support channel service of excessive traffic that is generated from not allowed channel. We proposed GLSP(Generalized Label Switch Path) setup algorithm that use variable path setup time parameters. This algorithm can improve path setup probabilities of backbone network that is composed of fixed way.

  • This paper proposes a novel ZVZCS-PWM Boost Converter. It enables the main switch to be turned on and off with both zero voltage and zero current and the auxiliary switch to be turned on and off with ZCS, the rectify diode to be turned on and off with ZVS. Moreover, this converter is suitable for not on]y minority carrier device but also majority carrier device. The auxiliary resonant circuit of the proposed boost converter is placed out the main power path, therefore, there are no voltage/current stresses on the main switch and diode. The operation of the proposed boost converter is explained and analyzed theoretical and experimentally, from a prototype operating at 100kHz, with an input voltage rated at 50V.

  • Due to its salient features, the optical burst switch is becoming a key technology for the optical Internet. Within this technology, the survivability issue in the optical Internet has to be addressed because a simple failure causes severe damage to the huge amount of data carried in optical fiber. In this paper, we introduce a restoration procedure that can provide good survivability in the optical burst switch (OBS)-based optical Internet. OBS restoration can survive various types of network failure while maintaining good network performance. We propose novel restoration mechanisms, namely, "temporary Label Switched Path (LSP)" and "bossy LSP," to enhance restoration time and network utilization. The simulation results verify that the proposed OBS restoration achieves good network performance and provides good network connectivity as well.

  • This paper presents new Zero-Voltage-/Zero-Current-Switching (ZVZCS) PWM DC-DC converters. The proposed soft-switching technique achieves ZVS and ZCS simultaneously at both turn-on and turn-off of the main switch and diode by using only one auxiliary switch. Also, the proposed soft-switching technique is suitable for not only minority but also majority carrier semiconductor devices. The auxiliary circuit of the proposed topology is placed out the main power path and therefore, there are no voltage/current stresses on the main switch and diode. The operating principle of the proposed topology is illustrated by a detailed study with a boost converter as an example. Theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results are presented to explain the proposed schemes.

  • This paper investigates an economic and highly efficient power converter topology and its modulation scheme for 60kW rapid EV charger system. The target system consists of three-phase three-switch buck-type rectifier topology. A new Carrier Based PWM scheme along with its simple implementation using logic gates is introduced in this paper. This PWM scheme replaces the diode rectifier equivalent switching state with an active switching state producing the effectively same current flowing path. As a result, the distortion of input current during the polarity reversal of capacitor line voltage can be mitigated. The proposed modulation technique is confirmed through simulation verification. The proposed modulation technique and its implementation scheme can expand the operation range of the three-phase three-switch buck-type rectifier having ac input and capacitor ripple current of high quality.

  • This paper proposes an open-switch fault tolerant strategy based on the model predictive control for a full bidirectional switches indirect matrix converter (FBS-IMC). Compared to the conventional Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC), the FBS-IMC can provide healthy current path when open-switch fault is occurred. To keep the continuous operation, the fault tolerant strategy is developed by means of reversing the DC-link voltage polarity regardless of the faulty switch location in the rectifier or inverter stage. Therefore, the proposed control strategy can maintain the same input and output performances during the faulty condition as the normal condition. The simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of embedded systems and autonomous path generation for autonomous speed sprayer. Autonomous Orchard Systems can be divided into embedded controller and path generation module. Embedded controller receives analog sensor data, on/off switch data and control linear actuator, break, clutch and steering module. In path generation part, we get 3D cloud point using Velodyne VLP16 LIDAR sensor and process the point cloud to generate maps, do localization, generate driving path. Then, it finally generates velocity and rotation angle in real time, and sends the data to embedded controller. Embedded controller controls steering wheel based on the received data. The developed autonomous speed sprayer is verified in test-bed with apple tree-shaped artworks.

  • This paper describes an implementation of fault simulator that can switch level fault models such as transistor stuck-open and stuck-closed faults as well as stuck-at faults. It overcomes the limitation when only stuck-at faults are used in VLSI circuits. Signal flow of a transistor switch is bidirectional in its nature, but most of signal flows in a switch level circuits, about 95%, are in one direction. This fault simulator focuses on the way which changes a switch level circuit into a graph model with two directed edges. Two paths from Vdd to ground and from ground to directions. Logic simulation is performed along dominant signal flows. The switch level fault simulation estimates the dominant path by injecting switch-level fualts, and pattern vectors are used for faults simulation. Experimental results are shown to demonstrate correctness of the fault simulator.

  • Theoretical and graphical analysis of pull-in-voltage and figure of merit for a fixed-fixed capacitive Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) switch is presented in this paper. MEMS switch consists of a thin electrode called bridge suspended over a central line and both ends of the bridge are fixed at the ground planes of a coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure. A thin layer of dielectric material is deposited between the bridge and centre conductor to avoid stiction and provide low impedance path between the electrodes. When an actuation voltage is applied between the electrodes, the metal bridge acquires pull in effect as it crosses one third of distance between them. In this study, we describe behavior of pull-in voltage and figure of merit (or capacitance ratio) of capacitive MEMS switch for five different dielectric materials. The effects of dielectric thicknesses are also considered to calculate the values of pull-in-voltage and capacitance ratio. This work shows that a reduced pull-in-voltage with increase in capacitance ratio can be achieved by using dielectric material of high dielectric constant above the central line of CPW.

  • Multipath ATM switch architectures have the potential to accommodate easily the design of high-speed and large capacity ATM switches which can handle a very large amount of switching throughputs. However, the multipath architecture inevitably encounters out-of-sequence problems. We propose a multipath switch model to analyze the out-of-sequence phenomenon. And we analyze the out-of-sequence performance dependency on the architecture parameters : the number of multipath, the trunk utilization, the switch size, and the number virtual channels/trunk. Indexing terms : ATM switch, Multipath archltecture, Out-of-sequence performance, Cell sequence integrity, Analytical model.
