Efficient Internet Traffic Engineering based on Shortest Path Routing (최단경로 라우팅을 이용한 효율적인 인터넷 트래픽 엔지니어링)

  • Single shortest path routing is known to perform poorly for Internet traffic engineering (TE) where the typical optimization objective is to minimize the maximum link load. Splitting traffic uniformly over equal cost multiple shortest paths in OSPF and IS-IS does not always minimize the maximum link load when multiple paths are not carefully selected for the global traffic demand matrix. However, among all the equal cost multiple shortest paths in the network, a set of TE-aware shortest paths, which reduces the maximum link load significantly, can be found and used by IP routers without any change of existing routing protocols and serious configuration overhead. While calculating TE-aware shortest paths. the destination-based forwarding constraint at a node should be satisfied, because an IP router will forward a packet to the next-hop toward the destination by looking up the destination prefix. In this paper, we present a problem formulation of finding a set of TE-aware shortest paths in ILP, and propose a simple heuristic for the problem. From the simulation results, it is shown that TE-aware shortest path routing performs better than default shortest path routing and ECMP in terms of the maximum link load with the marginal configuration overhead of changing the next-hops.

  • Ohba has suggested the Colored Thread Algorithm to prevent looped path when LSP is to be setup. M immediate node sends thread information such as color, hop count. ill, to downs1ream node via LDP message for the set-up of LSP. Afterward, decides that the looped path is formed when it receives a message with a same colored thread that was sent to downs1ream node, and it searches another path. If the message reaches to the egress node, then acknowledged message is sent to upstream node as reverse direction to the ingress node to set up loop-free path. For the algorithm, Ohva has defined three thread states as Null, Colored, Transparent. In this paper, the state of thread is extended to 5 states such as Extending, Merging, Stalling, Null, and Transparent. By the way, related FSM and TCB was redefined to make clear the ambiguity of thread states which causes faulty actions and to remove overhead. And, to improve performance, it limits to generate a thread in the state of Stalling.

  • As XML is widely used with the development of internet, many researches on the XML storage and query processing have been done Several index techniques have been proposed to efficiently process XML path queries. Recently, structural join has received murk attention as a method to protest the path query. Structural join technique process a path query by identifying the containment relationship of elements. Especially, it has an advantage that we can get the result set by simply comparing related elements only instead of scanning whole document. However during the comparison process, unnecessary elements that are not included in the result set can be scanned. So we propose a new technique, the level structural join. In this technique, we use both the relationship and the level distribution of elements in the path query. Using this technique, we tao improve the performance of query processing only by comparing elements with specific level in the target inverted level.

  • A digraph T is called a local tournament if for every vertex x of T, the set of in-neighbors as well as the set of out-neighbors of in-neighbors of x induce tournaments. Let x and y be two vertices of a 3-connected and arc-3-cyclic local tournament T with y x. We investigate the structure of T such that T contains no (x,y)-path of length k for some k with 3 k V(T) -1. Our result generalized those of [2] and [5] for tournaments.

  • A routing is the path that an actual train set follows as it moves from one train to another train in a timetable. The number of routings is equivalent to the number of trainsets required to cover the timetable. The primary factors of rolling stock requirement plan include evaluating the minimum number of routings. This can be formulated as a set partitioning problem and solved using enumeration method or column generation method. In this paper we presents an enumeration algorithm which is useful to implement the enumeration method for the rolling stock requirement plan.

  • Finding shortest paths on time dependent networks is an important task for scheduling and routing plan and real-time navigation system in ITS. In this research, one-to-one time dependent shortest path algorithms based on link flow speeds on urban networks are proposed. For this work, first we select three general shortest path algorithms such as Graph growth algorithm with two queues, Dijkstra's algorithm with approximate buckets and Dijkstra's algorithm with double buckets. These algorithms were developed to compute shortest distance paths from one node to all nodes in a network and have proven to be fast and efficient algorithms in real networks. These algorithms are extended to compute a time dependent shortest path from an origin node to a destination node in real urban networks. Three extended algorithms are implemented on a data set from real urban networks to test and evaluate three algorithms. A data set consists of 4 urban street networks for Anaheim, CA, Baltimore, MD, Chicago, IL, and Philadelphia, PA. Based on the computational results, among the three algorithms for TDSP, the extended Dijkstra's algorithm with double buckets is recommended to solve one-to-one time dependent shortest path for urban street networks.

Realtime Generation of Grid Map for Autonomous Navigation Using the Digitalized Geographic Information (디지털지형정보 기반의 실시간 자율주행 격자지도 생성 연구)

  • In this paper, a method of generating path planning map is developed using digitalized geographic information such as FDB(Feature DataBase). FDB is widely used by the Army and needs to be applied to all weapon systems of newly developed. For the autonomous navigation of a robot, it is necessary to generate a path planning map by which a global path can be optimized. First, data included in FDB is analyzed in order to identify meaningful layers and attributes of which information can be used to generate the path planning map. Then for each of meaningful layers identified, a set of values of attributes in the layer is converted into the traverse cost using a matching table in which any combination of attribute values are matched into the corresponding traverse cost. For a certain region that is gridded, i.e., represented by a grid map, the traverse cost is extracted in a automatic manner for each gird of the region to generate the path planning map. Since multiple layers may be included in a single grid, an algorithm is developed to fusion several traverse costs. The proposed method is tested using a experimental program. Test results show that it can be a viable tool for generating the path planning map in real-time. The method can be used to generate other kinds of path planning maps using the digitalized geographic information as well.

  • In this work, the closing behavior of cylindrical-shaped voids was experimentally investigated according to various parameters such as reduction ratio in height, initial void size and billet rotation during hot open die forging process. The reduction ratio in height, number of path, and billet rotation were chosen as key process parameters which influence the void closing behavior including the change of void shape and size. On the other hand, values of die overlapping and die width ratio were set to be constant. Void closing behavior was estimated by microscopic observation. Based on the observations, it was confirmed that application of billet rotation is more efficient to eliminate the void with less reduction ratio in height. The experimental results obtained from this study could be helpful to establish the optimum path schedule of open die forging process.

A Simple Fully Polynomial Approximation Scheme for the Restricted Shortest Path Problem (추가제약 최단경로문제를 위한 간단한 완전 다항시간 근사해법군)

  • The restricted shortest path problem is known to be weakly NP-hard and solvable in pseudo-polynomial time. Four fully polynomial approximation schemes (FPAS) are available in the literature, and most of these are based on pseudo-polynomial algorithms. In this paper, we propose a new FPAS that can be easily derived from a combination of a set of standard techniques. Although the complexity of the suggested algorithm is not as good as the fastest one available in the literature, it is practical in the sense that it does not rely on the bound tightening phase based on approximate binary search as in Hassin's fastest algorithm. In addition, we provide a review of standard techniques of existing works as a useful reference.

Development of Evolutionary Algorithms for Determining the k most Vital Arcs in Shortest Path Problem (최단경로문제에서 k-치명호를 결정하는 진화 알고리듬의 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to present methods for determining the k most vital arcs (k-MVAs) in shortest path problem (SPP) using evolutionary algorithms. The problem of finding the k-MVAs in SPP is to find a set of k arcs whose simultaneous removal from the network causes the greatest increase in the shortest distance between two specified nodes. Generally, the problem of determining the k-MVAs in SPP has been known as NP-hard. Therefore, to deal with problems of the real world, heuristic algorithms are needed. In this study we present three kinds of evolutionary algorithms for finding the k-MVAs in SPP, and then to evaluate the performance of proposed algorithms.
