  • Recent surveys at Parkes, in particular the 70 cm survey of the southern sky, have discovered many pulsars, including 17 miilisecond pulsars in the Galactic disk. Timing and polarization observations of some of these pulsars are described. The only two pulsars known to be in orbit around massive non-degenerate stellar compamons were also discovered at Parkes, and some recent observational results for these pulsars are also presented.

  • In this paper, we consider interval-valued Choquet integrals and fuzzy measures. Using these properties, we discuss some applications of them in multicriteria decision aid. In particular, we show how these interval-valued Choquet integrals can model behavioral analysis of aggregation in ulticriteria decision aid.

  • The main events in the historical development of Rheology are traced and particular attention is paid to the leading players, the controversies, the priority disputes and the nomenclature disagreements. Some of the lessons to be learned from the past are then highlighted and a positive assessment is given of the prospects for rheological research in the next millennium

  • This paper reports the reaction of monoiodoperfluorocycloakense with alkyl lithium and activated copper repectively resulting in various coupling products. Of particular interests are compounds of the following composition. The physical properties of the various compounds are given along with a discussion relating to the mechanistic pathways involved in the coupling reactions.

  • A continuous-time modified gain extended Kalman filter (MGEKF) is developed in an effort to extend the discrete-time results of 1) and 2). Used as an observer, it is globally exponentially convergent. For stochastic system, the stability of the MGEKF is proven under certain conditions. The performance of the MGEKF is compared with that of the EKF for a particular nonlinear system where the fininate dimensional optimal filter exists.

  • In this paper, it is shown that automatic continuity of derivations on some semi prime Banach algebras can be extended to higher derivations. In particular, we show that if every prime ideal is closed in a commutative semi prime Banach algebra then every higher derivation on it is continuous.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the some properties of fuzzy quasi-semiprime ideal, fuzzy prime ideals and to prove some fundamental properties of semigroups. In particular, we will establish a relation between fuzzy prime ideals and weakly completely semiprime ideals by using the some equivalent conditions of fuzzy semiprime ideals.

  • There are some 1,000 natural caves in Korea. Most caves on the mainland are made of limestone, whereas most of the caves on Cheju Island are volcanic in origin. The caves on Cheju, in particular, are internally renowned for their huge size and scientific value. By contrast, the caves on the mainland are not as big, but their unique shapes and formations still attract the attention of international speleologists.(omitted)
