  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influences of type D personality, burnout and work environment on nurses' intention to stay at the hospitals among nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive design was used. Participants were 135 nurses working at general hospitals. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program for descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: The score of nurses' intention to stay was 4.78. 39.3% of participants were classified as type D personality group. The scores of burnout and work environment were 2.92 and 2.39, respectively. Intention to stay was negatively correlated with burnout and positively correlated with nurse participation in hospital affairs, nursing foundations for quality of care, nurse manager ability, leadership, and support of nurses, staffing and resource adequacy. Burnout and manager ability, leadership, and support for nurses explained 46.0% of variance of nurses' intention to stay in the hospitals. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that nursing intervention programs for increasing intention to stay for nurses should include strategies for decreasing the burnout and increasing manager ability, leadership, and support for nurses.

  • Objective: This study aims to examine the factors associated with teacher intention to report child abuse in child care centers. Methods: Data were collected from teachers at child care centers in the Jeonbuk region, using a self-administered questionnaire. In this study, 186 completed questionnaires were used to analyze the data. Results: The respondents reported their intention to report child abuse as follows: physical abuse(49.5%), emotional abuse(16.1%), sexual abuse(12.9%), and neglect(15.6%). The multiple hierarchical regression analyses revealed that participation at child abuse prevention training programs and awareness of reporting procedures were significantly associated with teacher intention to report child abuse at child care centers in Model 2. Also, attitudes towards reporting child abuse were significantly associated with teacher intention to report child abuse in Model 3. Conclusion/Implications: This study suggests evaluating chid abuse prevention training programs more accurately because the respondents who did not participate in the programs showed statistically significant higher mean scores of intention to report child abuse than who participated(1.83 vs .85). In addition, educational programs about child abuse for teachers in child care centers need to focus on changes in attitudes towards reporting child abuse, which in turn can change behavior.

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate factors related to the intention of participation in a worksite smoking cessation program. Methods: To explain the health behavior of participating intention in a worksite smoking cessation program, the health belief model(HBM) was used as study model, and 144 self-administered questionnaires were completed by electronic company workers. Variables of the health belief model were composed of perceived susceptibility to smokinginduced disease, perceived severity of smoking-induced disease, economical gain as perceived benefit of smoking cessation, and nicotine dependency as perceived barrier of smoking cessation. Variables of sociodemographics, smoking status, knowledge about adverse health effects of smoking, and cues to smoking cessation were used as modifying factors. Results: Perceived severity(POR=1.99, 95% CI: 1.03-3.83), perceived benefit(POR=2.11, 95% CI: 1.07-4.17), and perceived barrier(POR=0.29, 95% CI: 0.11-0.76) were significant variables to the intention of participation in a worksite smoking cessation program in the logistic regression analysis. The perceived severity was significantly affected by knowledge about adverse health effects of smoking(POR=2.17, 95% CI: 1.23-3.84). The perceived barrier was significantly affected by education level(POR=3.66, 95% CI: 1.17-11.44), age to first cigarette (POR=0.32, 95% CI: 0.10-0.98), pack-years(POR=5.47, 95% CI: 2.37-12.61). To the Perceived benefit, the model was not fitted. Conclusion: Our results found that counterplans improving the knowledge about adverse health effects of smoking, preventing early smoking, and decreasing smoking amount should be considered for an effective smoking ban policy.

  • The 5 day workweek has become widespread, and more recently, the 40 hour workweek is planned to be implemented to the Korean industry by the government by 2012. It is possible that in the future, we may begin to complain about too much leisure, rather than too much work. There is a need then, for types options in leisure activity, brought about by personal choices and interests. The use of leisure time is a very personal matter. It is deeply related to types with the quality of life. Bagozzi (1981) developed a model discerning among attitude, intention and activity, that attitude affects behavioral intention, and behavioral intention affects activity. So, as behavioral activity has a deep relationship to behavioral intention, participation intention according to leisure types leads to participation in leisure activity. Sports activity and hobby and cultural activity appear to have high participation and it seems that this is reflected in behavioral attitude. Among the types of leisure satisfaction, sport activity satisfaction is associated with a more positive attitude to leisure than other types. With respect to background variables for attitude toward leisure according to leisure satisfaction, the biggest differences in attitude toward leisure were associated with sports activity.

  • The Korean government and industry practitioners have rapidly increased their interest in marine healing programs after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, research related to understanding the perceived usefulness, participant satisfaction, and benefits of marine healing experience from a consumer-oriented perspective is still lacking. This study used the post acceptance model to continuously examine the relationship between the perceived usefulness, expectancy confirmation, participant satisfaction, and intention to participate in a marine healing program. A survey was conducted by trained interviewers every weekend from September to October 2022 on the participants of marine healing programs in Busan city, and 203 samples were used for the analysis. The results showed that expectancy confirmation for the marine healing program positively affected satisfaction with the program and the perceived usefulness of the program. Moreover, satisfaction of the participants with the marine healing program positively affected their intention to continue participating. Additionally, the perceived usefulness of the healing program positively affected program satisfaction and continuous participation intention.
