Purpose : The purpose of this study was investigated to find the approach in the PNF and TC for frail elder Method : This is a literature study with books, articles, seminal note and books for PNF and TC international course. Result : Neural mechanisms contribute significantly to the gains that occur in the range of motion about a joint with stretching exercises. The participation in a stretch-training program decreases tonic reflex activity and increases flexibility and decreases in force production and muscle activation. Also the stretching-induced decreases may be due to a central nervous system inhibitory mechanism. PNF stretch techniques can increase ROM in older adults. These results may differ from those of studies performed with younger populations because of age-related physiologic changes. TC exercise improves balance control and muscle strength and were associated with reorganized lower extremity neuromuscular patterns. Conclusions : The stretch training program of the PNF and TC contribute to increase the balance and coordination for frail elder. Therefore, The frail elder prevent falling. Further study, The PNF and TC be introduced as the new therapeutic intervention for frail elder.
Purpose: This study applies the ICF to identify the patient's body function, structure, and participation, evaluates the patient's environmental factors and individual factors, and is a high level of movement to return to the society of patients with multiple ligament injury of the knee joint. Methods: Progressive strength training and ROM exercise were performed 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week for 6 weeks. The evaluation was performed by examining the ROM, length, MMT, instability, dynamic balance, pain and depression. Results: The ROM of the knee joint was improved from 110° to 135° after intervention, and the knee flexion length decreased from 69 cm to 45 cm. Knee flexor is Good after intervention from Poor-, and knee extensor is Good+ after intervention from Poor, and the plantar flexor of the ankle joint improved from Poor- before intervention to Good after intervention and dorsi-flexor of the ankle joint improve to Good from Poor. Pain index was moderate before and after the intervention, with a score of 3, 2 after the intervention, and when maintaining the sitting cross-legged, the before intervention score was 7 to 4 after the intervention. Conclusion: The patient's posture of sitting cross-legged was maintained from 30 seconds before intervention to 14 minutes after intervention. These results were able to set the hypothesis design, intervention method and goal that the multifaceted approach of environment and individual factors as well as body function and structure area, activity and participation area using ICF checklists, it is helped the patient to return to daily life.

PURPOSE: This study was conducted as a literature review to analyze the research trends related to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in Korea from 2015 to 2020. METHODS: Precedent studies were searched with the search term "ICF" or "international classification of functioning, disability and health" from the databases of RISS, KISS, DBpia, and Pubmed. The inclusion criteria are that the studies have been carried out in Korea from 2015 to 2020 using ICF by researchers consisting of one or more Koreans and have been peer-reviewed. RESULTS: Of the total 269 studies, 107 that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. It was found that these studies were published at a similar frequency each year. The most common area of expertise was identified as the clinical area (n = 67), followed by special education (n = 21) and social welfare (n = 13). The study subject groups were mostly patients (n = 39), disabled people (n = 25), and related experts (n = 13). The most common research topic was functioning evaluation (n = 49) and followed by a literature review (n = 29), and the most frequently used components in all the areas of expertise were activity and participation (n = 98), body function and structure (n = 73), and environmental factors (n = 61). CONCLUSION: For the past six years, domestic ICF-related research has been conducted in a wider range of expertise areas on more subdivised subject groups. Continuous research, development of standardized curricula and contents, and development of coding tools are considered to be important in vitalizing the use of the ICF.
Village Renewal(Dorferneuerung) Policy Program in Germany, directly originated from Rural Beutification Movement between mid 18C and mid 19C, has several characteristics as follows. First, we can find out the planned approach in land use and settlement reorganization of Pillage Renewal Program. There are three ways to designate the planning area of the village rearrangement project in countryside. One is to designate the detailed B-plan district by urban plan for the village over some size defined legally. Another is to have a living space of settlement be contained in land allotment project area. In this case, residential areas of several villages related to agricultural land consolidation should be simultaneously designated as the project area. The last is only for the built environment focused on the living space. Second, the emphasis in German village encouragement program can be made on the integral approach through which sets of policy programs of the land allotment, the living environment improvement, the physical landscape management and the cultural resources conservation are intensively implemented together. Third, the bottom-up and community participation approach can be greatly stressed on the planning and implementation process, Community participation, subsidy application to local government by residents themselves, community consensus on architectural style and outdoor spatial form, etc. have been recognized as an effective strategy to accomplish the task of village activity promotion.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of physical self-efficacy by a participation of sport leisure activity on general self-efficacy and life satisfaction for women based on the survey data from 174 women participating in swimming program in indoor pools at the area of Daegu and Gyongbuk. With the empirical analysis of the data, this study found the following conclusion. First, physical self-efficacy were significant on all general self-efficacy factors. Thus physical self-efficacy were influenced on pride, interpersonal relations, overcome difficulties, endurance. Second, physical self-efficacy was significant on life satisfaction. thirdly, general self-efficacy was partly significant on life satisfaction. Thus pride, interpersonal relations were not influenced on life satisfaction but influenced on overcome difficulties, endurance. Fourth, in case of the women over 40 years of age, physical self-efficacy was not significant on life satisfaction, and only endurance of general self-efficacy factors was influenced on life satisfaction. Whereas in case of the women under 40 years of age, physical self-efficacy was significant on life satisfaction, and overcome difficulties, endurance general self-efficacy factors were influenced on life satisfaction.
The This study aims to verify the causal relationship among physically disability persons participation in exercise, heart rate variance, and facial expression recognition. To achieve such research goal, this study targeted 139 physically disability persons and as for sampling, purposive sampling method was applied. After visiting a sporting stadium and club facilities that sporting events were held and explaining the purpose of the research in detail, only with those who agreed to participate in the research, their heart rate variance and facial emotion awareness were measured. With the results of measurement, mean value, standard deviation, correlation analysis, and structural equating model were analyzed, and the results are as follows. The quantity of exercise positively affected sympathetic activity and parasympathetic activity of autonomic nervous system. Exercise history of physically disability persons was found to have a positive influence on LF/HF, and it had a negative influence on parasympathetic activity. Sympathetic activity of physically disability persons turned out to have a positive effect on the recognition of the emotion, happiness, while the quantity of exercise had a negative influence on the recognition of the emotion, sadness. These findings were discussed and how those mechanisms that are relevant to the autonomic nervous system, facial expression recognition of physical disability persons.
The purpose of this study was to examine the difference of cognitive function, depression, and quality of life according to demographic factors and exercise participation among 148 elderly over 60 years old. The cognitive function was measured by the Korean version of mini mental state exam, Digit span test, Trail making test, and the Stroop test. Also the psychological variables were showed depression and quality of life. As a results, first, depending on the degree of demographic characteristics of elderly had significant difference. Second, according to the participation of the exercise, the score was higher than the aged who did not participate in the exercise. Third, there were significant differences according to duration of exercise, period of exercise, frequency of exercise, and exercise time of the aged that who participate in exercise. Lastly, the cognitive function, depression and quality of life of the subjects were found to be correlated. In conclusion, the aged need to regularly participate in various exercise and physical activity programs to improve the quality of life by improving the cognitive function and decreasing depression of the elderly.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different types of leisure activities' on the satisfaction and psychological well-being of primary school students. The subjects of this study consisted of 467(boys=191, girls=276) primary school students. The data was analyzed by one way ANOVA, factor analysis, Chi-square analysis, correlation analysis and multi-regression analysis. The main findings of this were as follows: first, there were statistically significant differences in the kinds of activities participated in according to gender. Second, among of the subscale of leisure satisfaction, boys showed higher scores in more education and physical satisfaction than girls, and in the subscale of psychological well-being, boys indicated a higher score in flow and happiness than girls. Third, there were significant differences in leisure satisfaction and psychological well-being in the types of leisure activity. Fourth, the participation motivation of leisure activity statistically influenced psychological well-being. Fifth, leisure satisfaction partially influenced on psychological well-being. Social and environmental satisfaction significantly influenced flow. Education and social satisfaction significantly influenced happiness and psychological well-being.
This study was attempted in order to understand leisure phenomenon in Korea cultural area through relation of Leisure Activity, Leisure participation motivation, self -efficacy and Subjective well-being. The purpose of this study was to investigate the question that Leisure Phenomenon was studied focus on specific Leisure activity contents such as physical, tour science, though it is an important subject to explore as psychological and cultural. Also it suggested that what was the problem of established studies and what was the directions for future study. Concrete study problem was assumed three issues. (1)General state of leisure activity and leisure motivation in Korea, (2)The correlated relation between each motivation and self-efficacy and (3)The correlated relation between each motivation and Subjective well-being?. Through this, we conducted three results. Frist, the leisure motivation scale was factor analyzed and consequently 2 factors which can be considered as leisure motivation were prescribed. Also through the responded data, leisure activity of university students showed much more passive activity(e.g.,reading, listening music, movie, watching TV, Internet surfing etc.) than positive and physically activity. Second, each motivation was not significant in self-efficacy. Finally, among the motivation, especially emotion and psychological rest motivation was significant in the subjective wellbeing. These findings imply that general understanding about leisure phenomenon can different as the cultural thinking of leisure activity and leisure motivation.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Tai-Chi exercise (TCE) and resistance exercise (RE) when used as part of a community-based exercise program on improvement of physical function in elderly women with knee arthritis. Methods: Forty-seven women with knee arthritis participated in this study. They were assigned to one of two groups: the TCE group (n=22) or the RE group (n=25). Tai-Chi exercise and resistance exercise sessions were held for 1 hour per session, twice per week, for 8 consecutive weeks. At pre-treatment and post-treatment, subjects were tested using the following measurements: one-legged stand test (sec), a functional reach test (cm), a test of the strength of the knee extensor and flexor muscles, determination of the pathway of center of foot pressure and vertical ground reaction force for stance phase at pre and post treatment time points. An independent t-test and a ${\chi}^2$ were used to determine the significance of differences between group means using SPSS 12.0. Results: After 8 weeks of participation in the exercise programs, there were significant improvements for both groups in joint pain, difficulty of performing activity, muscle strength of knee extensor and flexor. Also, vertical ground reaction force increased at the loading response phase for both groups. The RE group was significantly different from TC group on the eyes-closed one-legged stand test (sec). Conclusion: Tai-Chi exercise and resistance exercise programs improve physical functioning and reduce pain and locomotion difficulties.
