  • The desirability function approach to multiple response optimization is a useful technique for the analysis of experiments in which several responses are optimized simultaneously. But the existing methods have some defects, and have to be modified to some extent. This paper proposes a new method to combine the individual desirabilities.

  • Until the up to day, we have known that a tight iliotibial tract has an influence on the patella, pulling it laterally and causing pain in patients with patellofemoral syndrome, so should be stretched as a part of physical therapy. But the iliotibial tract's function on the patella in subjects with PFS has not yet been proved and further questions need to be answered regarding the evlauation or treatment of a tight tract in patients with PFS.

  • In this article we prove the existence of the solution to the mixed problem for Euler-Bernoulli beam equation with memory condition at the boundary and we study the asymptotic behavior of the corresponding solutions. We proved that the energy decay with the same rate of decay of the relaxation function, that is, the energy decays exponentially when the relaxation function decay exponentially and polynomially when the relaxation function decay polynomially.

  • In this paper we considered the problem of estimating the bivariate survival distribution of the random vector (X, Y) when Y may be subject to random censoring but X is always uncensored. Adapting conditional Koziol-Green model, simplified estimator for bivariate survival function is proposed. We perform simulation to compare the proposed estimator with popular estimators and discussed the performance of it.

  • Variable selection algorithm for principal component analysis using penalized likelihood method is proposed. We will adopt a probabilistic principal component idea to utilize likelihood function for the problem and use HARD penalty function to force coefficients of any irrelevant variables for each component to zero. Consistency and sparsity of coefficient estimates will be provided with results of small simulated and illustrative real examples.

  • We introduce some properties for fuzzy binomial distributions with fuzzy valued probability. First we define fuzzy type I error and type II error for fuzzy relative frequency and agreement index. And we show that an fuzzy power function and fuzzy binomial frequency function for binomial proportion test.

  • Under the assumption that the EMG signal was used as the reference signal for driving a prosthetic arm, function discrimination of EMG signal from the biceps and triceps of subject was achived with LPC CEPSTRUM coefficients. By varying the number of coefficients, the types of windows, window size, and window overlaping rates, the best conditions for the function discrimination of EMG signal were obtained.

  • In this paper, we consider a minimum distance (M.D.) estimation based on kernels for U-statistics. We use Cramer-von Mises type distance function which measures the discrepancy between U-empirical distribution function(d.f.) and modeled d.f. of kernel. In the distance function, we allow various integrating measures, which can be finite, $\sigma$-finite or discrete. Then we derive the asymptotic normality and study the qualitative robustness of M. D. estimates.
