  • In this paper, we propose a puncturing scheme to design low-density parity-matrix (LDPC) codes for unequal error protection (UEP). Two different puncturing schemes are compared. Simulation results show that proposed puncturing scheme outperforms regular puncturing scheme for more important bits. Future work is to find an optimized puncturing patten for UEP irregular LDPC codes.

  • A computationally efficient implementation of the progressive edge-growth algorithm is presented. This implementation uses an array of red-black (RB) trees to manage the layered structure of check nodes and adopts a new strategy to expand the Tanner graph. The complexity analysis and the simulation results show that the proposed approach reduces the computational effort effectively. In constructing a low-density parity check code with a length of $10^4$, the RB-tree-array-based implementation takes no more 10% of the time required by the original method.

  • For high data rate transmission over wireless fading channels, space-time trellis ceding techniques can be employed to increase the Information capacity of the communication system dramatically. In this paper, we consider the concatenated space time LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) codes. Extra ceding gains In addition to the diversity advantage is shown to be achieved for certain space-time trellis codes transmitted over quasi-static lading channels.

  • In this paper we make use of the parity check matrices of the codes based on inverting construction $Y_1$ to construct a number of new asymmetric orthogonal arrays with higher strength and higher number of levels using the method of construction of asymmetric orthogonal arrays given by Suen et al. (2001).

  • The Lanchester equations are widely used for modelling the direct-fire land battle. However, it is recognized that the Lanchester based models are less applicable to direct-fire land combat when the battle size is small, the forces are near parity or the inter-firing times of the combatants do not follw a negative exponential distribution. A comprehensive investigation has been conducted to establish the circumstances under which the Lanchester based models are applicable.

  • This paper examines the time series dynamics of spot and forward exchange rates and Eurocurrency deposit rates for four bilateral relationships vis a vis the U.S. dollar using daily data. The equilibrium implied by covered interest parity provides a theoretical foundation from which to estimate and analyze the dynamic properties of each system of exchange rates and interest rates. The structural statistical model is identified by relying on the implied cointegration vectors and long-run neutrality restrictions.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive DFE (Decision Feedback Equalizer) based on LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) code for phase noise suppression and performance improvement. The proposed equalizer in this paper is applied for wireless repeater system. So as to meet ever increasing requirements on higher wireless access data rate and better quality of service (QoS), the wireless repeater system has been studied. The echo channel and RF impairments such as phase noise produce performance degradation. In order to remove echo channel and phase noise, we suggest a novel adaptive DFE equalizer based on LDPC code. The proposed equalizer helps to compensate RF impairments and improve the performance significantly better than used independently. In addition, proposed equalizer has less iteration number of LDPC code. So, the proposed equalizer system has low complexity.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the duration of lochia in women hospitalized at Korean medical postpartum care center and to identify factors that influence duration of lochia. Methods: On the obstetric variables of 315 cases, the duration of lochia was analyzed. In the postpartum care center, the obstetric variables were asked of 315 cases of women, and who examined a body composition. After discharge, women were surveyed for the duration of lochia by telephone. Results: The median duration of lochia was 30 days and the range was 18~53 days. Maternal age, parity and mode of delivery were associated with its duration. So, its duration was longer on women over the age of 35, multipara and women had a Cesarean section. Its duration was correlated with gestational age and BMI before pregnancy, but not neonatal gender, birth weight, maternal BMI change during pregnancy, maternal body weight gain, BMI before delivery. Conclusions: It was 30 days that the median duration of lochia of women who had been got Korean medical postpartum care management, and which was slightly different from previous studies. And it was influenced by maternal age, parity, mood of delivery, gestational age and BMI before pregnancy. In future more studies or surveys for the duration of lochia of women with no treatment, lochial pattern and so on should be done.
