  • This study examined the relationship between family socioeconomic status, emotional behavioral problems, parental composition, and parents' life satisfaction, all of which are factors that affect the life satisfaction of Korean middle school students. To this end, multi-group analysis was conducted on KCYPS panel data. The results showed four major patterns. First, family socioeconomic status has a significant direct effect on the students' life satisfaction only when the student has two parents and when the student's parents have high life satisfaction. Second, family socioeconomic status only significantly influenced students' emotional behavioral problems when parents had low life satisfaction, regardless of parental composition. Third, the mediating effect of emotional behavioral problems (aggression) in the relationship between family socioeconomic status and student life satisfaction was only significant when the student had two-parents and when the student's parents' had low life satisfaction. Fourth, depression was the variable most stronly correlated with student life satisfaction. This paper discusses the limitations of this study and the impliations of its results about how to improve students' life satisfaction.

The data were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, independent samples t-test and hierarchical multiple regression. The major results of this study showed that rearing involvement by fathers, responsibility towards their child rearing, and parenting supports from their spouse were significant variables in predicting a father’s parenting satisfaction.

Methods: Data were collected by surveying (from July 4th to August 4th, 2019) 162 nurses who had 6 or more months of experience across 15 children's hospitals in G City and B Metropolitan City. Using SPSS 23.0 for Windows for data analysis, t-tests, analysis of variance, Bonferroni tests, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis were performed. Results: The nurse-parent partnership showed significantly positive correlations with nurses' communication competence and with self-efficacy. There was a significantly positive correlation between nurses' communication competence and self-efficacy. The factors influencing the nurse-parent partnership were nurses' communication competence, job satisfaction, and self-efficacy; the total explanatory power of these variables was 47.0%. • Family environment plays a significant role in adolescent development. Multicultural adolescents in Korea are brought up in a distinctive family environment, where they get to experience two different cultures within their families. Thus, it is important to examine how internal characteristics of the family environment in multicultural families and interactions between family members influence adolescents. The aim of the current study was to examine structural relationships among Southeast Asian mothers' and Korean fathers' bilingual socialization, adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture, and mother-adolescent relationship satisfaction. Specifically, the following two questions were addressed in this study: 1) Does bilingual socialization of each parent affect adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture? 2) Does children's attitude toward mothers' native culture affect mother-adolescent relationship satisfaction? To answer these questions, the survey data from the '2012 Nationwide Survey of Multicultural Families' was analysed, using SEM. The sample consisted of 318 multicultural adolescents (aged 9-17) living with Korean fathers and immigrant mothers from Southeast Asia. The main findings were as follows. First, Korean fathers' bilingual socialization had a positive effect on immigrant mothers' bilingual socialization. The path from Korean fathers' bilingual socialization to adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture was significantly mediated by immigrant mothers' bilingual socialization. Second, adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture had a positive effect on mother-adolescent relationship satisfaction. Results suggest that Korean fathers' bilingual socialization is an important factor for bilingual socialization of multicultural adolescents. It is also worth noting that each parent's bilingual socialization helps multicultural adolescents to form a positive identity as a member of multicultural families.
