자녀가 지각한 부모의 양육태도 및 이에 영향을 주는 요인 (Korean Parents' Child Rearing Attitudes Perceived by their Children: The Influence of Demographic Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the several types of Korean parent's child rearing attitudes perceived by their children and the related variables. The study included the development of a "Children's Report of Korean Parent's Behavior Inventory"(CKPBI). Subjects were 1722 5th and 6th grade elementary school children from 5 urban cities in Korea. CKPBI and a Home Environment Questionnaire were used to gather data for the study. Stepwise multiple regression analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and factor analysis were conducted for the purpose of the study. A CKPBI which consists of 46 items for father's and 48 items for mother's was found as both a valid and reliable instrument for measuring the child rearing attitudes of Korean parents. A factor analysis resulted in identifying two factors both for mothers and fathers; they were the "Warmth factor" and "Rejection-Authority factor". Eight types of child rearing attitudes were found for Korean parents. The SES of family significantly predicted Korean parent's child rearing attitudes. The SES of the family, and sex of the child determined variations in Korean parents' child rearing attitudes. Maternal religion had a significant correlation with both boys' and girls' perceptions of parental attitudes. The results of this study indicate high inconsistency within each parent and high consistency between both parents.

  • The purpose of this research was to study the effects of children's temperament, social competence, emotional intelligence, morality and parent's child rearing attitudes on young children's internalizing and externalizing problem behavior. Subjects were l34 five-year-old children attending day-care centers and kindergartens in Seoul, Korea. Analysis of the relationships among these variables was by correlation and stepwise multiple regressions. There were statistically significant correlations among the variables of temperament, social competence and parents' child rearing attitudes and young children's behavior problems. Variables influencing young children's internalizing behavior problems were children's temperament and parents' child-rearing attitudes; variables influencing children's externalizing behavior problems were children's temperament, their social competence, and parents' child-rearing attitudes.

한국형 부모양육태도 검사를 이용한 학령전기 아동 아버지의 양육태도 (Child-rearing Attitudes of Fathers of Preschool Children: Korean Parent As A Teacher Inventory)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude of fathers of preschool children to child rearing and to provide basic data to develop parent education programs. Method: The participants were 84 fathers of preschool children and the measurement tool was the Korean Parent As A Teacher Inventory self-report questionnaire and data were collected from 1 kindergarten and 1 child care center located in Gyeonggi Province. Results: 1) Child-rearing attitudes of the fathers was above average at $2.80({\pm}0.19)$. 2) There were significant difference statistically according to father's occupation (F=3.14, p=0.03) and child characteristics (F=4.87, p=0.01). 3) There were significant correlation between child rearing attitudes of the fathers and their age (${\tau}=-0.16$, p=0.04), and child characteristics (${\tau}=0.21$, p=0.02). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that attitudes of fathers to child rearing are important and it is necessary to develop a systemic parenting education program.

STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 자아개념, 양육태도 및 유아행동지각에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the STEP Program on Mothers' Self-Concept, Child-Rearing Attitudes and Children's Behavior.)

  • Systematic Training for Effective Parenting, developed by Dinkmeyer and McKay, is a parent education program that emphasizes social-emotional development. The present research studied the applicability of STEP to Korean mothers by examining changes in mothers' self-concept, mother's child-rearing attitudes, and children's behavior. The subjects of this study were 43 mothers of a kindergarten in Chonju City. 25 mothers were assigned to the control group and 18 mothers to the experimental group. Primary observes, consisting of 43 fathers of kindergarten children, and secondary observers, consisting of 43 Woosuk University students observed mothers' child-rearing attitudes and children's behavior. Instruments included the self-concept test by Jung Woonsik, Schaefer's Maternal Behavior Research Instrument, O Kiseon's Parent Child Relationship Test, Fear's parent questionnaire, and McKay's Adlerian Parental Assessment of Child Behavior. The mothers' child-rearing attitudes and the children's behavior are recorded by the observers and were compared with mothers' responses. The data were analyzed by MANOVA (multivariate analysis of variance), and ANOVA (analysis of variance). While the MANOVA showed no significant difference between the control and the experimental groups in changing the mothers' self-concept, differences in 5 of the 8 subfactors showed that STEP implemented positive change in the self-identity, self-satisfaction, self-behavior, personal self and family self in the experimental group. The MANOVA showed a significant difference between the two groups in changing the mothers' child-rearing attitudes. That is after participating in the STEP program, the mothers of the experimental group showed more significant progress than those of the control group. Mothers' observations of positive change in children's behavior agreed with those of the primary and secondary observers.

부모의 양육태도와 또래관계 속성이 아동의 휴대전화 의존도 및 활용유형에 미치는 영향 (The effects of parental child-rearing attitudes and peer relationships on children's mobile phone dependency and use type)

  • This study aimed to discriminate the groups clustered by mobile phone dependency and use type and to explore the quality of parent child-rearing attitudes and peer relationships predicting the types of groups. The subjects were the 688 fourth-grade students participating in the Korea Child Youth Panel Surveys. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, cluster analysis, One-way ANOVA and multinominal logistic regressions. The main results of this study were as follows. Firstly, as the result of cluster analysis inputting the mobile phone dependency and use type, the four clustered groups were produced. Secondly, the quality of parent child-rearing attitudes and peer relationships discriminating the four groups were parents' supervision, over-involvement, love, senses of non-alienation from peers and communicating with them. Therefore, this study suggested the parent education and peer-relationship improving program to form children's good habits of mobile phone use.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between internal locus of control in children and parents' child rearing attitudes which children perceive. For this purpose, 198 fifth grade boys and 163 fifth grade girls were randomly selected and their perception of their parents' child rearing attitudes and their locus of control were measured. Children's locus of control was measured by A Locus of Control Scale For Children of Nowicki & Strickland (1973) which was translated into Korean and item analysis of which was done. Ami Children's perception of their Darents' child rearing attitudes measured by Parent-Child Relationship Inventory which was constructed in Korean Testing Center. For the data analysis, t-test and two-way analysis of variance were applied and Pearson correlation coefficient was computed. The results of the present study were as follows; 1. The correlations between children's perception of their parents' child rearing attitudes and locus of control in children were significant partly. Especially, internal children reported their parents as showing less rejective attitude and less different child rearing attitude between father and mother. 2, Sons were more influenced by their parents' child Learing attitudes than daughters in the development of locus of control 3. Maternal child rearing attitude was more influential than paternal child rearing attitude in the development of locus of control.

부모의 양육태도와 사회적 지지가 아동의 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (A Study On the Effect of Parent's Rearing Attitudes, Social Support On the Children's Emotional Intelligence)

  • 본 연구는 부모의 양육태도와 사회적 지지가 아동의 정서지능에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아보는데 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기위해 초등학교 4.5.6학년 아동 243명을 대상으로 부모 양육태도 검사, 사회적 지지 검사, 정서지지능 검사를 설문지 조사를 통해 측정하였으며, SPSS 프로그램을 통하여 통계분석을 하였다. 연구 결과를 보면, 첫째, 어머니의 양육태도와 아버지의 양육태도가 개방-폐쇄형, 자율-타율형의 순으로 비슷한 경향을 보였으며, 정서지능은 정서인식, 감정이입 순으로 높게 나타났으며, 사회적 지지는 평균보다 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성별에 따른 차이를 보면 양육태도는 성별에 대한 차이를 보였으며, 정서지능에서는 정서표현과 정서조절에서 차이를 보였고, 사회적 지지에서는 친구지지와 가족지지에서 차이를 보여주었다. 셋째, 부모의 양육태도와 정서지능 및 사회적 지지는 서로 약한 상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 부모의 양육태도와 사회적 지지는 정서지능에 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 부모의 양육태도와 사회적 지지에서 가족의 지지와 교사의 지지는 아동에게 매우 높은 영향력을 행사하고 있었으며, 이러한 결과는 가족의 지지와 학교에서의 지지가 아동의 정서지능에 상당한 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사하고 있다.

한부모가족의 경제적 수준이 자녀의 학교적응에 미치는 영향: 방임적 양육태도와 정신건강의 매개효과 및 양부모가족과의 다집단 분석 (The Effect of Economic Status of Single-Parent famillies on Children's School Adjustment Mediating effects of neglectful rearing attitudes and mental health, Multi-Group Analysis on two-parent famillies)

  • 이 연구는 한부모가족의 경제적 수준과 자녀의 학교적응의 관계에서 방임적 양육태도와 자녀의 정신건강이 매개역할을 하는지, 이러한 구조모형 속에서 한부모가족과 양부모가족은 차이가 있는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동 청소년패널조사(2010) 중1패널 3차년도 자료를 활용하였다. 분석대상은 중학교 3학년 2,195명(한부모 249명, 양부모 1,946명)이다. 연구방법은 AMOS 21.0을 이용한 구조방정식 분석을 통한 다집단 분석을 실시하였으며, 매개효과를 분석하기 위해 Sobel test를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한부모 자녀의 경제적 수준 및 학교적응은 양부모 자녀보다 낮으며, 방임적 양육태도는 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 한부모가족과 양부모가족의 다집단 분석결과 연구모형에서 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 양부모가족은 경제적 수준이 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 반면 한부모가족은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 총효과를 통해 자녀의 학교적응에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 변수를 살펴본 결과 양부모가족과 한부모가족 모두 부모의 방임적 양육태도인 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 방임적 양육태도 및 자녀의 정신건강은 양부모가족의 경우 경제적 수준이 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 유의미한 매개효과가 나타났으나, 한부모가족은 매개효과가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 첫째, 저소득한부모가족에 집중되어 있는 한부모가족 지원 기준에 대한 문제점, 둘째, 한부모 자녀의 학교적응력을 높이기 위한 한부모가족의 특성을 반영한 다각적인 지원 방안을 제시하였다.

여대생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도 (Woman College Students' Perception of Their Parent's Child-rearing Attitudes)

  • Purpose: This study was carried out to show the parental child-rearing attitudes perceived by daughters(woman college students), who were in the process of pursuit of resonable values, ethics and preparing for marriage and settling down, and another purposes were to help them to have positive attitudes toward their child-rearing in the future and set up preliminary parenting education program. Method: The subjects were 120 woman college students who were freshmen to junior in one university in Seoul. Using the self-report questionnaire, data were collected from December in 1999 to March in 2000. The contents which subjects wrote down were categorized by content analysis method. 'inhospitality'(3.1%), 'acceptance'(5%), 'discrimination'(2.3%), 'mature parenthood'(1.8%), 'strengthening family tie'(1.8%), 'psychological intimacy'(1.1%). 4) On the basis of this study, 3/5 of subjects(61.2%) perceived their parents had mature and autonomous child-rearing attitudes, and on the other hand 2/5(39.5%) of them perceived controlling, just forcing to work harder and personally disregarding attitudes. Conclusion: So we need to offer them nursing implementation such as preliminary parenting education program and parenting consulting like to strengthen positive perception and help improving in realistic, developmental child-rearing attitudes.

자아정체감과 부모의 양육태도가 초기 성인의 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Self-identity and Parent's Child Rearing Attitudes on Emotional Intelligence Among Early Adult)

  • Purpose: The study aimed to establish a theoretical basis for nursing intervention to improve the quality of life during early adult by identifying emotional intelligence, his or her parents' child rearing attitudes and self-identity and analyzing how the parents' child rearing attitudes and self-identity influence on emotional intelligence during that period. Method: Data were collected from August 20 2011 to September 30, 2011. Two hundred men and women who lived in the areas of Seoul and Gyeong-gi Province were recruited. A total of 189 questionnaires were used for final analysis. Collected data were analyzed through SPSS/WIN18.0. Result: The participants' emotional intelligence and self-identity proved to have positive relationship. The participants' emotional intelligence also had the positive relationship with their mothers' and fathers' child rearing attitudes. The research shows that the mother's child rearing attitude(${\beta}=.40$, p<.001), the father's child rearing(${\beta}=.10$, p<.001) and self-identity(${\beta}=.23$, p<.001) can determine emotional intelligence to a degree of 43.4% and the mother's attitude was the most influential. Conclusion: It is necessary that emotional intelligence should be enhanced referring to the two variables in nursing intervention. Furthermore, parents whose children are in childhood or adolescence need to be educated about the importance of the parents' child rearing attitudes.
