무수마레인산 생산을 위한 고정층 촉매 반응기 설계 (Design of the Fixed-Bed Catalytic Reactor for the Maleic Anhydride Production)

  • 공기에 의한 n-butane의 산화로부터 무수마레인산을 합성하는 고정층 촉매 반응기의 거동을 조사하였다. 대류-확산-반응기구로 묘사되는 고정층 촉매반응기의 거동은 Langmuir-Hinshelwood형의 반응속도식 및 비정상상태 이차원 유사균일상 모델을 적용 조사하였다. 예측모델은 Sharma의 pilot-plant 실험 결과인 단일층 반응기의 축방향 온도 및 수율 분포에 대한 최적적합을 통한 최적매개변수 추정에 의해 구성하였다. 또한 예측모델은 단일층 반응기와 통일한 수율 및 전화율을 생성시킬 수 있도록 모사된 불균열활성의 이중층 반응기가 열점에서 $8.96^{\circ}C$ 낮은 온도 상승을 일으켰다. 단일과 이중층 반응기의 가능한 조업조건 (냉매온도, 반응물의 농도, 온도 및 유량)변화에 대한 매개변수 감응도를 조사한 결과 동일한 조업 조건하에서 이중층 반응기가 단일층 반응기에 비해 더 넓은 조업범위는 물론 전화율 및 수율이 다소 높게 나타났다.

  • 스마트 기기 시장의 눈부신 성장으로 핵심 SoC (System on Chip)에 대한 고성능 다기능 요구와 더불어 전력 소모 또한 급속도로 증가하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 요구 사항을 만족시키기 위해 점점 더 미세화된 공정을 사용하게 되면서 심화된 공정변이(process variation)문제로 인해 설계 마진(design margin)이 증가하여 성능과 전력소모를 악화시켜 궁극적으로 수율에 심각한 악영향을 주고 있다. Voltage binning 기법은 효과적인 post silicon tuning 기법중의 하나로, 개별 칩이 아닌 일정한 범위의 속도와 누설 전류에 따라 칩들을 선별 그룹핑한 bin 단위의 공급 전압 조절을 통해 경제적으로 공정 변이로 인한 parametric 수율 손실을 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 수율 손실 없이 추가적으로 평균 전력 소모를 개선하기 위한 voltage binning 기반의 최적화된 공급 전압 조절 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 기법은 칩 속도와 누설전류의 특성에 따른 공정 코너들의 서로 다른 LVCC (Low VCC) 마진을 고려하여 전압 마진의 편차를 최적화함으로써 전력 소모를 개선할 수 있다. 제안한 방식을 30나노급 모바일 SoC 제품에 적용한 결과 전통적인 voltage binning 방법 대비 동일조건에서 약 6.8%까지 평균 전력 소모를 줄일 수 있었다.

일반 수조에서의 합성 얼음의 밀도변화에 따른 쇄빙선의 저항특성 연구 (Study on Resistance of Icebreaker by Density Variation of Synthetic Ice in General Towing Tank)

  • This paper deals with the experimental works for the correlations of ice resistance for icebreaker with synthetic(model) ice in general towing tank and with refrigerated ice in ice tank. In order to find out the correlation, the density variation is mainly focused in the present study. The model of Terry-Fox ice breaker has been used for the present correlation study because many data are available to be compared. According to the increase of density, the correlation becomes better quantitatively as well as qualitatively. Other parametric studies such as an ice size, a friction coefficient, a bending moment, etc., are also expected to be carried out to have better correlation in a near future. This research could be the basis for the possibility of resistance test using a synthetic ice in a general towing tank instead of an expensive ice tank.

덮개꼬리로부터의 형상변화에 따른 공력 특성에 관한 연구 (Effect of Geometric Variation on Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Shrouded Tail Rotor)

  • 헬리콥터 초기 설계 단계에서는 형상 변화에 따른 공력 성능 변화를 예측하여 최적의 형상을 결정한다. 덮개꼬리로터에서는 공력성능 개선을 위해 블레이드와 덮개사이의 끝단간극, 블레이드 평면형, 그리고 블레이드 배치의 최적화가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 비정렬 격자에 기초한 비점성 압축성 로터 유동 해석 코드를 이용하여 설계 초기 기본형상의 덮개꼬리로터에 대해 끝단간극, 블레이드 평면형, 그리고 블레이드 배치 등의 형상변화에 따른 공력 성능을 예측하고 그 특성을 파악하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose Two-Dimensional Robust Face Recognition System Realized with the Aid of Facial Symmetry with Illumination Variation. Preprocessing process is carried out to obtain mirror image which means new image rearranged by using difference between light and shade of right and left face based on a vertical axis of original face image. After image preprocessing, high dimensional image data is transformed to low-dimensional feature data through 2-directional and 2-dimensional Principal Component Analysis (2D)2PCA, which is one of dimensional reduction techniques. Polynomial-based Radial Basis Function Neural Network pattern classifier is used for face recognition. While FCM clustering is applied in the hidden layer, connection weights are defined as a linear polynomial function. In addition, the coefficients of linear function are learned through Weighted Least Square Estimation(WLSE). The Structural as well as parametric factors of the proposed classifier are optimized by using Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO). In the experiment, Yale B data is employed in order to confirm the advantage of the proposed methodology designed in the diverse illumination variation

예연소실식 디젤기관의 운전조건변화에 따른 열발생률 형태변동에 관한 고찰 (A study on the heat release rate pattern variation according to the change of operating conditions in pre-combution chamber type diesel engine)

  • Nowadays, the problems of energy and environmental pollution become serious day by day and the diesel engine, which has been proved to be superior to gasoline engine with respect to fuel consumption and ecological problems of exhaust gas, has been adopted widely for various purposes from the marine diesel engine and the dynamo engine to all kinds of engine on land. Therefore, extensive parametric studies on combustion of diesel engine should be done for its desing and improvement. To predict the behavior of diesel engien according to variable operating conditions by means of cycle simulation, the reasonable pattern of heat release rate has to be asumed. But it is necessary to know the actual variation of heat release rate in order to assume the reasonable pattern of heat release rate according to the actual operating conditions. In this paper, on a high speed small bore diesel engine with pre-combustion chamber, experimental investigations were carried out to determine the relationship between the heat release pattern and parameters such as engine load and speed. And also, the theoretical investigations about the performance variations of the above diesel engine according to the predicted pattern of heat release rate variation were performed. From the above observations, it may be said that the Fanboro indicator, which was used to get the cylinder pressure, can be used to estimate a reasonable pattern of heat release rate and it is confirmed that the pattern of heat release rate for the pre-combustion type engine is different from that of the direct injection type engine.

중형 버스의 브레이크 저더 현상 개선에 대한 해석적 고찰 (Analytical Study in Brake Judder Reduction of Medium Bus)

  • Brake judder, one of low Sequency vibrations in brake system is determined by the excitation of Brake Torque Variation (BTV). The largest contributor to BTV is disc thickness variation. In this study, the static loads of brake torque at Suspension Mounting Points (SW) are obtained by the quasi-static analysis using DADS. The dynamic loads with frequency of BTV at SW are derived from correlation between forced vibration analysis with static loads and brake test results. And the accelerations at steering wheel were analyzed by forced vibration analysis with dynamic loads using commercial finite element program MSC/NASTRAN so that vibration characteristics of vehicle due to brake judder were investigated. Reliability of analysis results was verified through comparing the brake test results. Also, a parametric study with natural frequencies of frame, such as the 1st torsional mode and 1st bending mode, was conducted to reduce vibration amplitudes. As a result we could detect frame natural frequency conditions to improve vibration characteristics and obtained the frame model to reduce vibration amplitude.

Effect of material transverse distribution profile on buckling of thick functionally graded material plates according to TSDT

  • Several classical and higher order plate theories were used to study the buckling of functionally graded material (FGM) plates. In the great majority of research, a power function is used to represent metal and ceramic material transverse distribution (P-FGM). Therefore, the effect of having other transverse variation of material properties on the buckling behavior of thick rectangular FGM plates was not properly addressed. In the present work, this effect is investigated using the Third order Shear Deformable Theory (TSDT) for the case of simply supported FGM plate. Both a sigmoid function and an exponential functions are used to represent the transverse gradual property variation. The plate governing equations are combined with a Navier type expanded solution of the unknown displacements to derive the buckling equation in terms of the pre-buckling in-plane loads. Finally, the critical in-plane load is calculated for the different buckling modes. The model is verified by a comparison of the calculated buckling loads with available published results of Al-SiC P-FGM plates. The conducted parametric study shows that manufacturing FGM plates with sigmoid variation of properties in the thickness direction increases the buckling load considerably. This improvement is found to be more significant for the case of thick plates than that of thin plates. Results also show that this stiffening-like effect of the sigmoid function profile is more evident for cases where the in-plane loads are applied along the shorter edge of the plate.

가산자료(count data)의 과산포 검색: 일반화 과정 (Overdispersion in count data - a review)

  • 생검실험에서는 다산을 통해 번식하는 쥐와 같은 설치류 동물들을 실험대상으로 하여 이항분포나 포아송분포 하에서 가산자료(count data)를 많이 생성한다. 다산을 통해 태어난 동물들을 독립적인 실험대상으로 간주하여 자료분석을 하면, 同腹仔 효과로 인해 기존의 평균과 분산사이의 관계를 벗어나는 과산포현상이 종종 나타난다. 이러한 현상을 무시했을 때 모수추정치에 대한 분산을 과소추정하고, 이로 인하여 가설검정에서 낮은 검정력을 갖게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 최근 10년간 과산포현상을 검색하는 통계량들과 과산포를 반영하는 모형들이 제시되었는데, 이를 개관하고 이러한 절차들의 일반화 과정을 자료 유형별로 비교분석한다.

  • This study describes aerodynamic noise of high speed wind turbine system, which is invented as a new concept in order to reduce the torque of main shaft, for design parameters of the rotor blade. For parametric study of high speed rotor aerodynamic noise, Unsteady Vortex Lattice Method with Nonlinear Vortex Correction Method is used for analysis of wind turbine blade aerodynamic and Farassat1A and Semi-Empirical are used for low frequency noise and airfoil self noise. Parameters are chord length, twist and rotational speed for this parametric research. In the low frequency range, the change of noise is predicted the same level as each parameters varies. However, in case of broadband noise of blade, the change of rotational speed makes more variation of noise than other parameters. When the geometric angles of attack are fixed, as the rotational speed is increased by 5RPM, the noise level is increased by 4dB.
